If you make a purchase, it does not increase your cost, but helps me fund my channel. Thanks for watching JeepSolid. I am not a certified mechanic, just a hobbyist who enjoys working on Jeeps.
Once again, your videos have helped me big time! Just did my Jeep 4.0 clutch, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and while I was in there the rear main seal. All your information, torque specs, wrench sizes and just general information is priceless.......Thanks man!!! love your channel.
Been waiting forever to see someone do a full clutch job on an XJ! Loved your videos for the TJ but watching you guys do it on an XJ gives me much more confidence to do the job on my Cherokee. Thank you guys so much!
Awesome! Glad it helps
Just finished installing a clutch and flywheel in my 88 xj. Watching your video’s sure helped. Thanks!
About to tackle my front axle seals so been watching that video too!
FYI the Chrysler service manual says to not resurface the flywheel because it has a convex pitch to it but rather hand sand it with sandpaper to "clean it up" . I love your content keep up the great work!
That's interesting. I've never read that. Can you send me that paragraph? Clutch manufacturers say it has to be resurfaced. I wonder if not is only on a certain vehicle
@@JeepSolidI’ve heard that too. It has a convex shape and the clutches are shaped accordingly.
thanks for these vids whats the torque setting for the pressure plate?
Good job on the clutch install guys . The only thing I would do differently is loctite the flywheel bolts also . Looking forward to your next video on this awesome XJ . Take care and be safe and I will catch you live on Wednesday .
Probably a good idea 👍🏼
If it wasn't for watching your videos I don't think I would ever have been able to keep my Jeep running as well as I have and I'm actually getting ready to do an engine swap from the 2.5 to 4.0
@JeepSolid typically how long does it take to replace the clutch/pressure plate from start to finish? Thanks.
Can you comment a list of all material you used? My clutch went out and im trying to do this on my own. Im not a mechanic but ive done some work to my car. Knowing what tools to buy would really help me out a lot. Thank you!
We'll be tackling this soon on my TJ... right after we figure out why my transfer case is leaking...
Well done, I know how much longer and harder it is to Film and work.😂
Oh! Man! Yep
I haven't seen a lot of manual 4 dr. XJ's.Most manual XJ's I see are 2dr...
Dale!
Thanks!!
Great video!
Would this be a good time to replace the rear main seal?
Definitely!
Hi Dale, great videos. Have helped me a lot with my jeep zg 2.5td rebuilt. big fan! Keep with good work. Is that car manual transmission? Regards
Yep. Manual. Ax15 transmission
@@JeepSolid the same as mine but I think I will replace my clutch in local shop. The 12 star bolts were impossible and I gave up taking the engine off. Now transmission will go out to replace o-ring in camshaft leaking oil. I will keep following your video’s
On a different subject, I have a question. Sorry for posting it hear, but I can find where to ask general question on the site. I need to replace the vacuum unit that's on the end of injector rail This is on my 1995 CJ 4.0L The rubber is completely shot. I not finding this part, after checking the usual online parts sites I've used in the past, . Some of the problem might be that I not sure of the exact part name. Appreciate any help with the actual part name and where I can find this replacement part? Thanks in advance. Bryan
Mine is a fuel pressure regulator on MPI fuel rail.
Is this an ax15?
Yes, that's an AX-15.
Yup. 4.0L. Has ax15 👍🏼
Why do i hate and love this shit lol you could just pay someone to do this stuff but thats a NO
