    Do all the new batteries work across the board with all the older Dewalt tools?

    The 1.7Ah Power Stack batteries are really great. They deliver a lot of power and they're compact in every dimension. They even have the better charge indicator that stays on for a second or two after you press the button. They only suffer in capacity (runtime), which is not normally an issue in my shop.
    I stocked up with the deal where you get a free 20V tool with a 2x Power Stacks.

      Yea I’m gonna have to get me some more next time they are on sale. They really are sweet little batteries.

    Love the 20V Dewalt tools. I have a pole saw and a hedge trimmer, both excellent yard maintenance tools. And I recently got a Dewalt tire inflator which is incredibly convenient - I don't have to mess with my heavy and super loud pancake compressor anymore to inflate tires.

      I need to get me a tire inflator. I still drag out the air compressor and plug it in every time. I also have the hedge trimmer which I absolutely love along with the weed eater and a small blower. Man those tools are convenient.

      @@realworldtoolreviews Go for the Dewalt tire inflator - you'll love how easy it is to use compared to a conventional compressor.

    Even before watching the video, the 6AH battery blows away the 5AH. Everything is faster with more power. Bigger difference than most would initially think.

      Agreed. That 6 ah on the skilsaw especially makes a huge difference

    Try out the 5Ah power stack against the 6XR.
    Most people get distracted by the digits used and compare the 5Ah PS to the 5Ah XR which...well, that is just not what the 5PS is meant to be. It is really designed to replace the all powerful 6, and it holds it's own very well against it.
    I just replaced all of my 5 and 6 XRs. I was either going to replace them all with 6XRs or 5PS's and in the end, after all of the research, I was damned near down to a coin flip. If one had been significantly cheaper than the other, that would have settled it. They were THAT close. But the price was very similar as well so I got no decision making help there.
    I went with the 5PS, bought 4 of them and gave myself 90 days to pay off the 600 bones I had to put on the credit card to do it. You should try one out against your 6 and see what you think.

    The powerstack batteries give the power of a 5ah battery in a 2ah profile. The 5ah powerstack batteries give the same power as the 1.7ah powerstack batteries, just a longer runtime. They are meant for larger tools like saws and leaf blowers.

    I typically run the 2AH and the 3AH due to how compact they are. Going to have to give the powerstack batteries a go eventually.

      The power stack are awesome. I was worried they would not last long enough when I got them, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the runtime. They really take these compact tools to the next level.

    You know who won't come out with new tech or even just bigger batteries? Makita 😢 I may be just a little sore about that fact

    • @realworldtoolreviews
      @realworldtoolreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea makita is kind weird that way. They came out with that 40v system which seems like it was sort of a dud. They should just invest more in the 18 volt. That’s still the best technology. They need to get on that stacked lithium

  • @donwendling7800
    @donwendling7800 ปีที่แล้ว

    You keep saying 18 vols!

    • @realworldtoolreviews
      @realworldtoolreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I call it 18v because that’s what it actually is. They say 20v MAX as a gimmick to make it sound more powerful. They are really 18v tools just like the other companies make. I think that whole 20v thing is dishonest. They are still my favorite tools though!
