Visited a really cool video game, toy and movie store while on vacation in Florida! We had to haggle the price down on a rare 90s handheld game console but we did it! This historical piece of gaming history is going to be a great addition to the game room! Always on the hunt for retro games, vintage toys and 80s / 90s nostalgia at Flea Markets, Thrift Stores & Garage Sales! I had the atari lynx as a kid. System was awesome. California games, ninja Gaiden, batman returns, spider-man, and many more. Also you can turn the system and the screen rotates with it. They even had a TV tuner and am/fm radio tuner attachments for it.
As an old gamer guy, some of my fondest memories are of rolling the score over in Asteroids and Defender on my Atari 2600.
That Sabrina Teenage Witch would be cool just to pick up and get signed since Melissa Joan Hart is doing a Con later this year.
That store you were in definitely takes some care of the items theyre selling the games in the poly bags look nice and makes them more appealing. Always excellent videos and your finds are always on point.
SNES Bubsy!!! That was one of my favorites! Good memories of my grade school buddy and me renting it every weekend from Family Video!
I had that Hanson vhs!!!! My cousin actually got it for me after she had gone to their concert when we were kids. I’ve seen it a million times, it’s like a documentary of then on tour, I loved it.

The only time I ever saw a Lynx, was in the spring of 1991 at Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC. I'd gotten a Gameboy for Christmas and was blown away by the backlit screen of the Lynx. At the time I wanted to get one, but I never pulled the trigger. Very nostalgic to see it again.
I dont even own an atari lynx, and i have just recently bought a complete copy of steel talons for it for the box art alone! The game itself is also really good and definatley one to be on the lookout for.
OMG, dude, I used to play with a Super Scope for Bazooka Blitzkrieg. Totally brought back memories. Wow!
I've had a Lynx since a few months after its release in 1989. I have the majority of the library, and a couple of each version of the Lynx. It was a great little machine that the Tramiel family who owned Atari at that time were too cheap to support. I have many fond memories of playing Warbirds with two units and a Comlynx cable linking us up, battling against a co-worker who was an out-of-work cargo plane pilot. We'd end up playing throughout our entire lunch break and completely forget to eat. Such a great machine.
I bought a Lynx and 6 games in 97. Still one of my favorite pieces of my vintage collection.
Great pick up with those NES and LYNX.

I used to have a Lynx when I was younger. It was rad. But even back then the games were hard to find and expensive because it wasn’t as popular as other consoles. But I’m hoping to have one again some day!

You definitely have him watching the classics
One of the unique things about the Lynx was the ability to play it from either side. So if you like to control direction with your right hand and hit the buttons with your left, you just set it up to do that. I had one years ago and got rid of it since I didn't play it much.

I love my atari lynx's.. have the gen 1 and 2. I did the LCD mod on my Gen 2 and added the bennvenn SD card reader (self explanatory..) it's an awesome unit. I "HIGHLY" recommend the LCD mod. Gives is a 21st century screen quality. Enjoy!!
Didn't know the Lynx was that rare these days, I have two perfectly working ones in storage lol. My brother and I got them because they ended up being discounted down to $30 brand new with a bunch of games at a local department store back in the 90s.
I had an Atari Lynx back in the day, Batman Returns is a great game for it. Hard but fun with good graphics. They used to say it was the first 16 bit handheld as it had 8 bit graphics and 8 bit sound. Plus that flip button meaning you could use the console left or right handed, what a great little extra.
I happened to find the exact type of Atari Lynx at a local charity shop several years ago. It came in a nifty carrying case with two games, and it only cost $5AU. Not bad for a good deal!
I have 2 Lynx originals and 2 Lynx II, 1 of each model is boxed too. Love the Lynx.
The lynks is one of my favorite handhelds. Still play mine. Battle wheels is my favorite games for it.
That version of the Lynx was my first handheld as a kid! It was hard to see back then too! McWill that screen into something usable. So 😎
Really great find, Rick!!! I’m glad you enjoyed your time in Florida! I live in the Bay Area. And I’m pretty sure $100 for a super scope is a good price. Their usually $140 in box! I got mine CIB for $20 in December on market place.
Got an Atari Lynx 2 weeks ago at an estate sale for $60. Has the box, and to quote you “a little sticker shock”, it’s covered in 90s Lisa Frank unicorn stickers.

Those shelves definitely came from a movie gallery store, that’s what it probably used to be. I managed one right when they finally went under and closed all their stores. One of the most fun jobs I ever had
Dude!!!! I love the Atari Lynx! I grew up with one! You have to get roadblasters for it! It’s a great console port and it’s a super fun game. Also California games is great! There are so many great games. I think you will totally fall in love with it. Anyway, so stoked that you got one! Great video man!

Ah man, "No One Can Stop Mr. Domino" was that game man... a slight learning curve but worth it when you master it.

Very nice find man on the Atari Lynx! I had one I picked up and the sound didn’t work. The guy tried to repair it and no luck! So I’m still without one. Glad yours worked out man.
I'd say the Nomad was more rare than the Lynx. I never see a Nomad.

Bought a Nomad at a garsge sale this year. So from personal experience Lynx is more rare
I found a Nomad at value village a few years ago, and I managed to haggle them down to 45 bucks. I pretty much never use the damn thing but it's one of the prides of my collection these days...
Have fun at SEGE. The Lynx was a nice find and it was an expensive purchase. The screen on it looked clean in the video and it seemed to play well.
There are a few online stores that make custom plastic cases to display on a shelf for Gameboy, GBC, and GBA, and other stuff. They also make custom covers that you buy with the cases so they properly fit in the case for a lot of the games. If you are interested, it might make displaying Gameboy stuff easier
that game store reminded me of our old local video store we used to rent movies and games from!

Played alot of Califonia games on the Atari, in sweden at the time of the realese they hade it up for play in alot of stores.
But now you have see them anymore. A few can be sold but you really need luck to get hold of one.

Im a new subscriber and ive been hopping around your videos in no particular order, i knew you had a little boy, but when i saw the one shopping with you on this video i thought you had two and he was the older son, who must have been at school in the other videos. Then i heard his name and realised its the same little lad growing up...awww....and bless his sad face..he was a good boy tho.

The Lynx came out a few months after the GB. You have the later 2nd version. Still cool, and it’s in perfect shape.

I had that batman toothbrush and stand as a kid. I broke the batman off and used it as a action figure. I haven't thought about that thing in years. I would have bought that in a heart beat!
Hey Rick what an amazing pickup from that entertainment center, super excited for you that you got a good deal on Linx noticed when you were showing off NES game Hook kind of shocked seeing Sony produced that game and to think Sony and NES were going to put a plan in place to create a system together than Sony decided to go on their own
That Sonic & Knuckles was in such good condition, it's so hard to find a boxed copy like that over here in the UK. That would have been my main pickup if I visited this place!
Sadly the one i got from a little retro shop the box was damaged a fair bit
I have that Nintendo , Three Stooges game. I remember getting it as a kid for Christmas back in early 1990's. Not the worst game ever made as the intro is funny with some fun things. Never knew they made Skate or Die 2 . Things you learn. Never played an Atari Lynx before. Its nice to see they did a good deal for you on it.
Had several Lynx. Both models and most of the library.
Never seen a Lynx and I grew up in the NY Long Island area.
As a kid I tried looking for the Neo Geo Handheld but nobody had it in stock either.

I don't know how a retail store can be considered the wild, but good pickups anyhow! I found a lynx at a pawn shop years ago for like $40 and didnt pick it up because that was barely a deal at the time lol.
My brother had a Lynx. I remember playing Slime World and California Games on it back in the day.
Picked up an Atari Lynx, Jaguar, NeoGeo CD and 3DO from a guy locally a few months back. All of them are rare for my area.

I bought an Atari Lynx when it came out in the 90's. I too had Batman and Xenomorph which was the first Lynx game that was made. All I can say is, prepare to replace the AA batteries on a fairly regular basis as the power needed will gobble up the battery life unless you can find a plug in mini power brick that Atari produced. The original carry case was cool too.

Pretty awesome finds Rick! What a cool shop. I've never seen an atari lynx before. It's not bad at all especially like u said it came out when the gameboy came out but it was backlit. I wonder how expensive they were at the time.

I saw Cobra's Triangel in NES, Loved that game. Like a boat racing/ shooting game.
Some of the third party controllers that you passed up on are wireless and more comfortable than the official ones.
Wireless is the worst. Battery always dead

I picked up a Lynx 2 from eBay faulty for about £20, £2 to fix it. Whilst I agree the hunt is more fun I like to pick up faulty consoles and fix em, some real bargains to be had if your handy with a soldering iron :) They commonly blow the voltage rehulators which is a super easy fix. Great store but some of those prices were wayyyy too high!

i owned 2 lynx systems.. bought them new when they came out.. owned the fat version.. then when the revision came out.. the one your holding.. that was the second one i bought.. man im old.. they also have a IPS screen replacement to make the games brighter and clearer.. if i had one of these i would change out the screen asap..
