The Gerber shard is great. I carried tools and things on my keychain for many years. In recent years I have moved away from that because I found it annoying. I really like the stuff you have picked for yours!

Thanks Eric. I know some people find the shard a bit pokey for a pocket carry... Mine seems to fit next to my car key, so I hardly notice it.

Have the alox classic SD and a tritium key ring on my car/house keys but recently swapped out my I3e for the freebie Imini2 as I realised that as I have to still use a key to unlock the door of my ‘93 hilux it’s a lot easier in the dark if the torch isn’t on the key ring.

Good point. My wife has the Omini2. It works well.

I find it interesting that a problem can have so different solutions. I do not keep a lot of things on my keychain. I prefer to spread out my edc thingies to different positions on me. The key, just the house key, is on a chain together with a tiny flashlight (Olight 1R2 EOS). Another chain carries my leather card wallet. In right front pocket i carry a pocketknife (varies day to day due to where i am going and what i am doing), usually a Victorinox. in left front pocket i carry a lip balm and ALWAYS my customized Midnight Manager. My car key (or Mc or bicycle keys) is in my jacket pocket when i need it, other time it stays at home. The phone is in my left thigh pocket. Those are the things that is always with me. Other things get stuffed into a pocket, or put on my belt when i know i will have use for them.
My reasoning for this, and it have never been "used", is that i don´t loose everything if i drop something or it gets stolen. Key and wallet is attached to me so you will "have to discuss it with me to get them".

I think this is a very personal solution when deciding what will be in our pockets. I have tried a few pouches and pocket organisers. Most of the time I come back to a few separate items. This keychain solution is a little bulky, but does keep things together...

@@MB_EDC Everybody solves these problem in their own personal way. I have not bonded with pocket organisers at all. EDC is something that is constantly evolving, i feel. What feels right today may change tomorrow.

True. I test a few things out for my channel so mine maybe changes more often than most people. Outside of that I keep the same things in my pockets (off you look back over a few off my EDC videos (including my first YT video!)

I have a 5 inch long, half inch wide lanyard on my car and front door key with a large "nappy" pin , about 3 inches.

@@MB_EDC the lanyard keeps the car key/phobe away from the house key and the safety pin. I think the lanyard just helps to stop anything knocking against the car key.

@user-yx2ff3mv2q Ok. Why is it a problem if the items touch each other?

@@MB_EDC I think it just protects the plastic key phobe, there's some electronic circuits in the key phobe. I just notice when I am driving that the pin and other key aren't knocking against the key phobe. I've lightened my keys recently. Took the ferro rod, striker, flashlight, whistle, and half a dozen other odds and ends off my car phobe recently. That bunch is still worthwhile carrying but I just carry it separately.

I did like my i3E EOS until I found the bulb head had unscrewed itself in my 5th pocket and somehow escaped.
As to the Jetsetter, I put some black 3D printed custom scales on mine, with slots for scale tools, so it doesn't show scratches. The Phillips driver can actually handle PH2 screws provided of course that you don't torque too much.

That hasn't happened to me yet. It was a concern as something similar happened to a keyring Cyberlite flashlight.

@@MB_EDC I just seem to have had bad luck with Olight torches. I also had a i!R 2 EOS on an extra S-biner, attached to the S-biner with my keys on...that managed to unclip itself and disappeared while I was out and about too. However I have a couple of other fairly good inexpensive equivalent or similar torches, the Lumintop EDC01 which has a couple of settings too, that one doesn't unscrew. More recently I bought a True Utility buttonlite which is USB rechargeable and has it's own little clip. TU can be a bit hit and miss (don't like their multitools) as they seem to be OEM products in many cases, but for 4 quid it was worth a gamble. It doesn't throw a beam as strong or as concentrated as that on the Oligh i1R2EOS, but it's still pretty good, so much so I bought another 2. Between those and the Lumintop I'm sorted for EDC torches.

@simonh6371 I have the Lumintop, but don't use it much. I have my wife the Olight iMini2 which seems to work well. I'll have to do a comparison video for a get off my mini torches.
