Thank you for the good advice had I not know would have made the same mistake I also really like your program and carmodification and upgrades the right way.
great video. shorter rear gears is not always the answer! now if you install a turbo. a higher rear gear could probably work better and you can cruise high ways better!
Man, this video is great, thanks for sharing this knowledge with us, i am trying to better understand how gear ratio affect performance on a car, not only final drive, but individual gears spacing too, and this video helped a lot, great to know about the computer controlled transmissions as well.
With a 8 speed transmission you can go with 4.11s and still do 130 on the freeway I got 4.11s in my donk with a 4l80e I do 80 mph at 2500 rpm which is not bad
Could use a bit of advice guys. I have a 1988 Caprice police car with a “stock” 05’ LQ4 LS and 4L65E swapped in. I am building this car for sale and I need to know the best gear ratio to go with. If I do install a cam it will be the only upgrade other than the intake. Howard’s Rattler Howards “Rattler” (Duration 275/282, Lift .525/.525) Lifters, pushrods, and trunnion upgrade is a given. All input is very well appreciated!
Keep bringing and passing on the knowledge VTSV🤝
Bro, you really just opened my eyes for my '91 caprice. Now im rethinking my 3.73 gears

Glad it was helpful! Ratios can get confusing fast!

8spd And 4l80e totally different. You can use it but old gearing thinking is different with the 6 spd and up trans
