I don't know why, but this song has always made me think of having cold feet before a wedding. Just swallow and breathe to calm your nerves before saying yes. She can't figure out if she wants to say yes or no. This is probably not what it's about but I can't help to think of it as like a big dive into marriage. Remember this isn't for you it's for them because the marriage cereromy can be stressfull when dealing with family even if she loves the person. I just can't see it not being about a wedding.
I heard this song just before my wedding 2012 and it struck a chord within me deep inside, gave me the courage to admit my gut feelings... fast forward married anyway because of shit storm arguments of how I should be conducting myself, as his family had made the trek over from UK, split just over 12 months later, divorced now... Always trust your gut feeling.... Missy is timeless and manages to sing to your soul at the right moment every time and at that point in my life she was 100% correct. Fast forward again to now and this song just keeps popping up randomly in my life so much and hence, the watching of a grand aussie artist once again, and I can't help but wonder if she is singing to my soul again... treasuring her wisdom and her songwriting genius ❤ random reply to your comment haha sorry!

I've been feeling like this a lot recently, and there are really only two things that give me any sort of release. Missy Higgins, and the ocean. I go mad without it (I was away for two months, and it actually drove me a little bit insane). So when I saw that Missy had a video for this song, it was amazing to see her stand at the ocean. This is actually so much my life! My favourite music video ever :)

Don't really get TH-cam, Facebook, twit etc. but.. that's my problem. Can I just submit that this is the most beautiful song I've heard since I stopped pouring over the magic of Taupin and Dwight..and even beyond..I have a strong feeling the video producer, or some of his staff have a better understanding of what's going on here than Missy's management.
