Love your tutorial, very helpful. Have bought the filter kit in the UK for £15 and plan to change both filters and O rings asap as it's been over 2 years and 50000kms since they were changed by previous owner. Thanks again

Hi geRAMicc85, A great video. I have the exact same LPG system. While on gas, the engine began running rough to the point where my Patrol was not drive able. I have had the car for five years and although its been serviced, never thought to change the LPG filters. I watched your video which was both simple and informative. I ordered and replaced both filters and now the car drives like new, Thanks again for your effort and time.

Great video, to check for leaks a spray bottle with some washing up detergent and water sprayed about will show any leaks as bubbles........easier than listening as the engine running makes it hard to hear.

Tanks very Nice video.I have exact the same gas filter, removed the two rings but the caps at both end won't come off. Stuck like hell. Perhaps some penetrating oil will help. Also I was unaware there are two filters.

Firstly, I snapped the magnetic ring on the ET98. Can this be replaced? Do you know where I might find spares?
Secondly, I removed the lower o-ring on the ETC98 bolt. This does not seem to have a replacement in the kit for some reason. And I can see from your video that you keep it there. Again, any idea where I can find this as a spare?

Thanks :) Very useful video. If you don't want the gas flows out ("on your face";) you can close gas cylinder valve before you open system. I saw that some mechanics close the gas cylinder valve, then start engine and wait to use all the gas in the tubes. Then you can open filters safer. (sorry for my english... I hope you've undestood).

hi I liked your video I was hoping u could help me I just boght a vaxhall astra 1.6 sxi bio fuel lpg when I swich it over to lpg for some reason it is spluttering like it s only running on 3 plugs I havent changed nuthing on it and I was hoping u could help me as I have no clue first time using it and only put 5 pound in the lpg becouse I didnt no if ther was any problems with it but soon as I flick the swich back to petrol runs fine I can drive with the lpj on but its really spluttery thanks

1. reducer filter
2. filter element (vapour gas) for PVC Filter
3. filter element (fluid gas) for Reducer.

Which one filter gets dirty first, liquid phase or gas phase ?
Thx that was very useful but my liquid filter is slightly different, it has 17mm bolts and a small magnet to the bottom of the pot.

For sure! Plus the 2.0 litre engine fills every inch of space in the engine bay...
It's sad that such a great engine requires a lot of time only for a simple maintenance. Other things of the car are badly enginnered: for the A/C filter you have to remove the gas pedal...

Thanks for this video. If the houseing for the evaporized gas has a hole in it - leaks gas and lets in air, can this lead to damage or malfuntion of the engine or piston?
It's under pressure. Don't think it lets air in. But there is less pressure in the rail and the engine could stutter. And you have bad gas mileage also faults on lambda in the long term

My car struggles to run got it checked my mechanic they said it’s gas side is faulty . Showed it to gas people they said mechanical side is faulty . On diagnostic it shows cylinder misfiring only but once cleared few moments it’s okay then back to normal . Any tips mate

Hi & thanks for this vid. I changed both filters on my dad's car but now when accelerating/under load the system switches back to petrol presumably because there is low lpg pressure somewhere. Now I originally emptied the lpg pressure by tightening the screw on the tank and running the engine until it switched over to petrol, could this have upset the ecu or something? I'm pretty certain I have installed the filters correctly and that they are the correct filters. I will try installing the old filters and see if the problem repeats. I did the filter change fine on my car using the same process last week.

@@michaelutech3999 If I remember correctly I think it was the liquid filter that was the issue, possibly sent the wrong one, so I just changed the gas filter and put the old liquid in. My dad sold the car before I ever ordered a new one!
Brilliant, just done mine, that gas explosion woke me up but its over just before panick sets in lol how u avoided your hands getting frost bite , amazing timming sir! Btw i cant find the larger gas filter on mine only the wet et98. Is this normal to leave out on early instalations? Mines a 1991 when fitted.

I went to replace that small filter that sits below the valve and got a solenoid valve with no filter at the bottom
Great info. I have a different system but there shouldn't be much pressure on the filter, correct? Does the gas shut off at the tank or the vaporizer?

My 05 Tahoe with Brc-lpg system (looks like it's the exact same system as yours.) just straight up dies when switching to LPG. What could it be?
A repair-shop dedicated to lpg mentioned a magnet-valve down by the tank could be the culprit or that the wiring from the brc-ecm down to the magnet-valve could be underdimentioned or damaged. There are 2 wires going to it, a green one and a green one with a black stripe. Is this the magnetic valve?

Fixed it a while ago. One of the relays under the hood was completely dead. Replaced it and now runs

+Yilmaz Gul There's a tap on the tank and turn that to shut off the system fully.
you should close the valve/tap from the tank and let the engine burn all the gas from the pipe, instead of dumping it into the air and risk freezing nearby hoses/plastics/your hands.
I have a STAG lpg installation, how often should i replace the lpg filter ?
The guy who installed my LPG is suggesting me to change the filters every 10,000km.
Is it traditional lpg or Sequential lpg?
Nice vid, but please say some more things about security measures e.g. closing the main valve especially. Not everybody is experienced enough do safely execute this maintenance procedure !
The main valve should be closed anyway, there's a solenoid on the tank that cuts supply if the engine is off.
@@christianclark5795 "Should" ... just as you say. It should, but even if it does it's not always certain it is really tight. In my case it was closed, but it wasn't completely tight.
With that stuff it can get realy dangerous within seconds.
Can you help me, please? I can't open my nut, I think I'll need WD40. But before I buy that I wanted to ask, if it's ok to remove the pipes to get to the nut easier?
you mean the gas hoses to the filter, sure as long as the vehicle is off and watch out for cold gas coming out, good luck

My LPG system was done about 4 or 5 years ago, they I don't think the filter has been cleaned or changed, gas tank is full, but the other day, it will not now switch over to the gas, it tries but it keep carrying on as thought the tank is empty. I am going for the reason being the filter is crapped right up, and so blocking the gas getting into the jets to the engine. Is this a reasonable theory ?
yes it is reasonable, I think the same is happening to me. Did you replace the filter and did that fix your issue?
