Liebherr - LTM 1650-8.1 Self-assembly telescopic extension 3-5

  • The Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane offers two possible telescopic boom lengths - 54 meters and 80 meters. However, the complete 80 meter telescopic boom cannot be transported on the crane with an axle load of 12 t. In order to comply with this legal limit, the telescopic extensions 3 to 5 are transported on a separate trailer. Using the newly developed self-assembly device, the telescopic parts can be assembled /disassembled quickly and easily without an additional auxiliary crane.
    Optional accessories are required for self-assembly of the telescopic extensions 3-5.

    This is osson, the German technology is a world reference. This crane is amazing looks like a moving Lego so easy to assemble. I still prefer the ltm 11200 capable to lift 1200 ton reaching heights of 131 meters with the jib full extended

      The 80m boom is to heavy to get the crane road legal (more than 12t per axle).
      For the 54m boom it isn't needed.

    Doesn't look too "self" at all, still a lot of "human" work lining vehicles up, removing covers, removing bearing blocks, getting the sections together, putting bearing blocks back in, connecting sensor and hydraulic lines, plus you have to have a whole dedicated rig and trailer for the boom, when you have to start dismantling half the crane to drive it on the road it loses the whole purpose of having a more compact (less axles) crane as you need so much more space on site to assemble the thing, this setup for only 80 meters boom length is of dubious value compared to going with the shorter, road legal telescopic and using lattice extensions with much better ratings.
    Then of course you need to transport and connect the rear outrigger box either way because it's still over weight with the short boom.

    • @stevengunter4990
      @stevengunter4990 ปีที่แล้ว

      With "self assembly' they mean no other crane required.....also the crane is road legal with all extensions in, its just heavier than the 12t per axle wich gets very restricted when it comes to bridges and roads its allowed to take......the telescopic unit is mostly for industrial purposes, so you would assemble the full crane inside a chemical park or construction site, and then drive it around. Lattice boom sections ,while prefered for wind power, are a way higher transport and work volume for heavy individual lifts than a telescopic unit......
