They may not be the coolest and the lightest but I use Ugly Stiks for all my fishing now after breaking a few rods on the way up to Canada one year and all I had was one Ugly Stik for an entire week.

I have used some of the other ones like it (Med and Med Heavy) and never had a problem with that brand. Going to have to switch back to the carbon ones I was using before for my slip bobber setup.
