You're a legend Evan, easily my favourite bodybuilder! Here in the UK, especially since the pandemic started, home equipment is ridiculously expensive. We're talking c.£250 for some used 70kg hex dumbells alone, or like £150 for some crappy tired old bench! I guess though factoring in the saving of a lifetime of gym membership makes the whole home setup a serious consideration, especially in light of the current situation. Anyway, keep up the good work and stay safe my friend!
Im making one identical to this one! I followed the sketch, so far I’m $170 into it, I have my welder and drill press so that came with some savings. Because my garage is pretty low I had mine 7H x 4L x 4W and honestly it’s really sturdy, looking to anchor it to the ground

Other brands list them with their specs; height, width depth, gauge, and whether the rack is 3x3 or 2x3. You can adapt them for lumber. Just a few clicks of the mouse is all it takes.
There is something to be said about building your own squat rack and dumbbell rack. But if you dont have at least some experience with either construction or metal fabricating of some sort, you should def get a helper that can guide you thru it so you don't seriously injure yourself. All it takes is one forgotten bolt or lose screw and it's only a matter of time!

I've also constructed and built (just a half rack due to limitations in my garage) a rack myself, but yours is looking so much better! and especially the wholes are just perfect!! I also had access to better equipment (no way to do that with commercial equipment anyway :D) but not that automated so not every whole got perfect. which steel have you used? commercial raw material S235? or aluminum? have you coated the rack? Really like this effect, but at least in the garage it would beginn to roast. Mine is with double coating (and still beginn to roast...) if you want too, or your fans on youtube, I can provide you autocad dwg or pdf drawing of my rack. Regards from Austria - Lukas

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B
No machinist will let you use their equipment if you haven't ever touched a mill or welder before as it is way too much liability. At the very least, if they are your friend, offer to buy replacement drill bits and a few meals and they'll knock it out in a day.
This is why I love being a welder having the skills to build stuff like this
I just bought a weld machine and now I'm building my own barbells and the welding stick always stick to stell and fuck all up 🤣

FYI you can get 90inch 3x3 steel tubing 11ga for like 70 bucks off a metal supply shop in your local area.
