Quick correction the saints weren't shooting a movie they were just robbing a bank straight up and they decided to let Burk come with to study for his role since he was cast in it. But the film was not being made yet at the time of the bank robbery they just robbed a bank to help Burk practice being a gangster for his role in the movie. Plus they just wanted to rob a bank cause... Fuck it there the saints.
I’ve played all but SR1 (because only on Xbox) but 3 is my personal favorite I genuinely love a lot of the new characters, the rpg style respect, the nyc style city, the customization, and many other things including the more light hearted protagonist sure there’s things I loved in 2 (like the ost and layered clothing even if 3 has clothes I actually like unlike 2s also the ability to pick up objects buy cars and modes like fight club and demolition derby) but over all 3 just connected with me more personally plus as a bonus it’s on my favorite system the switch (tho if 2 ever came to it I’d buy it for a third time 😅)
Same, Sr3 introduced me to the series, so It has a soft place in my heart. Still love Sr3 (Personally it's tied with my 2nd favorite game in the series, saints row 1) It had great gameplay and customization, and even though I think the writing's worse than Sr and Sr2, I think it had a decent story. I still replay the stories of the first three saints row games to this day
Saints Row 1 and then 2 are my favorite 3 stories was two half-assed for me to enjoy it

the pacing of the third was really my only problem with it. lets be honest, if 3 was anything like its first 2 predecessors then the problem would have been it feeling the same with nothing new. i liked 3 because i took it for what it was and didn't expect anything. when the first trailers dropped for saints row the third i had 0 expectations so i got more than i needed when it first came out. same feeling about sr4 but thats where i drew the line. after 4 i stopped playing saints row.... until about a week ago when i went to revist sr2 lol. sr2 for life!!
Yeah but there are more things what sr3 makes not good. Its not only the story. Its the the things what makes sr2 so good. Its the buildimgs you can enter( the casino where you can play black jack, the prison, the underground mall) and thd customization of apartments. And more things what sr3 makes not that good as sr2. I agree sr3 dont have to be the exactly same as sr2 because itis nothing new. But come on the story can be better and the things what makes sr2 good (what i wrote here) are not in sr3.

From what you said from the video this sounds like the story was a disappointment at least compared to the previous two games but fun gameplay. I hear the 4th one goes off the rails in tone.

Personally I don't hate the wacky of the game, it's got charm and a certain way I don't like how the the smaller details of saints row 2 are just gone for big epic game that led into superpower hell known as 4. Story is also all right but is way worse compared to one and two at least in my personal opinion
Don't get me wrong not a bad game but six or seven out of 10 with how the game plays and the removal of small things that gave saints row 2 the upper hand, story and good game features for a game of that era.
SR3 is just boring to me.
Personally this game is terrible compared to the other games but as its own thing I give it a 8
