- Today, I'm reviewing the LEGO 10277 Crocodile Locomotive train. This LEGO Trains 2020 is one of the best we've had in a while, and it even matches the emerald knight in some aspects. I really appreciate the design of this train/ it looks very authentic, and yet it is able to run on your LEGO city train track. On top of that, it doesn't just have to be a presentation piece. You can fully motorize your lego crocodile locomotive creator expert 10277 with Powered up Components. You need the Technic Large Motor as well as the small Powered Up Hub. The app interface is well designed too, and very authentic!

The brick built rails isn’t a con; it makes it look a lot better as a display piece.

It's also a designers homage to the original Lego rails from older trains over the 40 years of Lego trains. They were available in blue and light grey.

@@Unbrickme I think their fine,I own a city train, but I think I have an Idea for a future video,since you like technic you could compare all the motorized based lego technic sets and compare their functionality hie it's been improved or disproved throughout the years. I think that would be a great video.

The driver on the top the black gear on the middle is called an idler.
an the bottom called a 1st drivens to 2 12t gear at 1:1 radio with is a last gear stage is called final driven .

Unbrickme. Your welcome. Oh and I forgot to mention that if you want you can also create a code for this train and then it will run on its own in however you want it two. Like changing speed going form fast to slow in a matter of seconds. And the best part is that if your phone falls asleep the train won’t stop.

If you can buy the powered up motors too then definitely this train, if not, then the clone wars sets. Honestly its about what you prefer. If you'd rather have Star Wars, go with that. If you're a train fan like me, then the train is your choice.
@@Unbrickme nope i can't afford the powered up functions. Have to save up for like half a year. I don't care for that. I'll just set this train on my layout and then I'll just connect my 2010 cargo train behind it and then it will run.

For those complaining that he has no idea of trains, come on, people where trains aren’t their biggest thing, don’t know a ton about trains, look at me, I don’t even know how electric trains work. People who are just regular fans of trains don’t know everything about them. OR you could just leave the guy alone and keep your complaints to yourself, and maybe saying you shouldn’t have uploaded this because you know nothing about this train doesn’t make sense. Look in the lego stores, I went on July 1st and they had a backlog of freebie sets. I got 4, including the blue hot rod. That was a good day...

@@Unbrickme nope,they just had a bunch of sets they weren't able to give out due to the pandemic, so I got the july set, june set, and two Easter themed sets.
There is an awesome Lego Via Rail that needs support on Lego Ideas. It might be turned into a Lego set that you can buy. It can be motorized with Lego Powered Up. It comes with a baggage car that can store canoes, a sleeping car with a lot play features, and a dome car with a lot of play features. I really want this train to achieve support and be turned into a Lego set.

Yeah that sounds great! I really wanna save up some money and buy that 9v system and tracks. Probably gonna have to spend like 3 grand to accommodate my lego city.

Tip: remove rubber bands. tip 2: if you want to have less of a gap just pit sloped brown 1:6 and you will need 4 of them and put them on the front and rear end on both sides

.... If i'm being honest, the siderods are a bit weird, because they are inacurate, the real Crocodile has siderods between the all of the driving wheels

I have three of these sets right now. I really love the look. Glad i bought them. Did the same thing with all the other trains: Emerald Night, Santa Fé super chief, Burlington Santa Fé, Horizon Express, Santa Fé mail-and diner cars..... The previous crocodile 10183 and various City trains like 3677, 4512, 7939....all of them bought and still sealed in box at my attic.

Actually it's not my favorite Next To my sealed boxes I have a layout where i run unboxed sets and MOC trains such as a BR 85, BR 80, another Emerald Night, and a lot more... my two favorites were build from scratch: a two-locomotive, four-passengercar Santa Fé style Metroliner and a Dutch class 1100 locomotive with three 40 stud-long "Plan E" carriages, all highly detailed.

Lol I haven’t been paid by lego, if that were the case, I’d disclose it. For me, I’ve never experienced any flaws with this set. It never derailed for me

I have to admit, this set has an interesting construction and is impressively detailed, but I'm not a big fan of trains and the boring color combination doesn't appeal to me and I don't think I'm the type of buyer this set is made for😕😕

@@Unbrickme its still the 10194, I run with 4 carriages, but the 10277 im gonna make the orginaly train carriages that it runs in real time
As a train fan, I was upset with the wheel setup. If you look up the real CE 6/8 II, the large train wheels under the center cab are connected with the large train wheels along the noses. Not to mention, the real train uses two motors located in each nose. A more impressive and realistic build would’ve been to have L motors in each nose and the correct wheel setup.
yeah I somewhat agree, although if it were realistic, I doubt it would successfully go along the lego railroad track

@@Unbrickme pantographs if you ever need to refer to it in written comments. They did a great job on that and although the colour first strikes as a bit of an odd choice its completely accurate to the original real Swiss locomotive. If you search on YT you'll find it ;)

Calling the pantographs “electric grabby things”. Even the very limited text on Lego’s website they use that word so even a very limited amount of research would’ve been enough.

Nothing against you mate, I like the review in general but alot of the things you said were just a bit weird. Like at 1:15, when you say that 40mph is very good for a cargo train. That's a void statement that's just not really true and pretty much unrelated to anything at all. It's a locomotive, not just a cargo train as well. Or the statement about putting cargo in the cockpit. It all just seems a bit messy and improvised. I also would like to say that your build seems incomplete and a bit off at certain points. Some bricks are missing, weirdly placed and such. Making the build look right makes you look more professional. Once again, I'm not trying to scold you or make fun of you. You seem like a nice and energetic lego fanatic. Your videos could definitily use some better structuring and better information. The videos you filmed were nice and high quality, so you've already got that going good. Good luck!
