If I had a nickle for everytime I said "sound" in this video, I'd be rich 😂. All jokes aside, hope this video helped you get a better understanding for sound and can use some of the tips/techniques for your own videos! Comment some more tutorials you'd like to see in the future. Just came back from an amazing trip to Hawaii.. so you know what's coming ;) See you soon, thanks for all the love and support.
JR Alli Great tips many thanks. The woosh sfx can be far more creative e.g. door creak used for a swish pan or a gong for a light leak. Love your channel look forward to your next tutorial.
yes! those are great examples, there's no strict code for sound design which is amazing. the key is sometimes using sounds that other things make, and manipulating them to suit your needs. For example, a drum hit when someone presses a button to build tension or give it more attention!
+JR Alli Really great and helpful video! Thank you sooo much!! One thing that wasn't covered are some sources to get hq sound effects from... Could you betray me some of them out of which you get yours?
I would like to see more sound design tutorials ... For example, you could made tutorial about how you made sound design for that film from beginning of this video. And by the way, thank you very much for this tutorial ;) Finally I find out how to create that reverse gunshot sound design :D
DAMN! YES! Thank you that you start making tutorials how to became better filmmaker and editor! :) I am looking forward to next tutorials, tips and your awesome videos :)
This is what sets you apart so much JR. You videos are absolutely stunning, and that is because of the experience we feel as viewers of being there, not watching from a screen. Ive seen so many amazing channels with fantastic edits, but yours blows them out of the water. There is so much to be learned here, and I am so grateful you made an entire video showcasing your talent, and teaching us these essential elements! Thank you!
4:30 blew my mind!!! I am working on this video right now and wanted this exact sound for the end of my video. I literally searched for 2 hours last night trying to find this sound bit. Thank you for the help! SUBSCRIBED.
Thanks very much for this helpful video, I always say sound is more important than picture sometimes 👌🏾 this confirmed that I needed to work more and more on sound
How could someone put a dislike here? Besides that i could not agree more about importance of sound design, well explained and yes when done right it gives so much more dynamic range to videos
Great video JR! Sound design is one of the most overlooked aspects of a video. Most people focus on transitions but completely forget about great sound design. I recently made a travel video from my trip to Spain this summer. My first edit didn't have any sound design, but once I added it in my second edit, the video came to life!
Thanks, I knew my videos were missing sound design; I originally thought I was going a little overboard but, You've confirmed it, I'm not. I look forward to enhancing my videos further.
Aw man I wish I saw this when I created my videos... I actually was using sound design a little without even noticing. Thanks for always inspiring me hahah
You have no idea how much this has helped me, and thank you so much for the links in the description, this is the one thing I need as I plan to get my own camera and drone and make my own type of short films with a new channel. Thank you so much for being on TH-cam and have a great day. :)
You've inspired me to start video editing. I hope you know you've made an impact on my life and you're do something amazing for this world. Keep up the great work!

thank you for sharing your techniques, i think it's important for an artist to share what they learn, i appreciate it :) i also started to realize how important sound is in a video or a film i think it adds so much to it so that's a really good topic to talk about
