When I was in my teens, I went to more than 50 Primus concerts. They were some of the best experiences of my young life. The mosh pits were the most positive, polite, and safe that I've ever been in. If someone fell, there were 10 hands lifting you back up instantly. The best show I ever attended was Primus, The Pixies, and Jane's Addiction. These guys create such an excellent vibe for their fans, and are beyond talented. It was a true pleasure seeing this reaction video with you guys.

Les is incredible & the music Primus puts out there is so unique and fun. To think Les auditioned for the Metallica gg and they told him "you're too fucking good for this band".I enjoy Primus immensely. I think he would have fit in just fine, but they understand music and they don't want him stealing the show every night. On a side note: Cliff Burton was "too good" too.

    Tommy the Cat lyrics:
Well, I remember as it were a meal ago...
Said Tommy the Cat as he reeled back to clear whatever foreign matter,
May have nestled its way into his mighty throat.
Many a fat alley rat had met its demise while staring point blank down,
The cavernous barrel of this awesome prowling machine.
Truly a wonder of nature this urban predator.
Tommy the cat had many a story to tell
But it was a rare occasion such as this that he did...
"She came slidin' down the alleyway like butter drippin' off a hot biscuit.
The aroma, the mean scent, was enough to arouse suspicion in even the,
Oldest of Tigers that hung around the hot spot in those days.
    The sight was beyond belief.
Many a head snapped for double - even triple - takes as this vivacious,
Feline made her her way into the delta of the alleyway,
Where the most virile of the young tabbies were known to hang out.
They hung in droves. Such a multitude of masculinity could only be
    Found in one place...
    And that was O'Malley's Alley...
The air was thick with cat calls,
But not even a muscle in her neck did, twitch as she sauntered straight into the heart of the alleyway.
    She knew what she wanted...
She was lookin' for that stud bull.
She was looking for that THE cat.
    And that was me.
Tommy the Cat is my name.
    And I say unto thee...
'Say baby do you wanna lay down with me?
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side?
Ah baby do you wanna lay down with me?
    Say baby?...Say baby?'
    (Break)
'Say baby do you wanna lay down with me?
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side?
Ah baby do you wanna lay down with me?
    Say baby?...Say baby?'
'Say baby do you wanna lay down with me?
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side?
Ah baby do you wanna lay down with me?
    Say babababay?'
'Say baby do you wanna lay down with me?
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side?
Ah baby do you wanna lay down with me?
    Say baby?...Say baby?'"
'Say baby do you wanna lay down with me?
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side?
Ah baby do you wanna lay down with me?

'Say baby do you wanna lay down with me?

Too bad you didn't go to Hartland highschool in Hartland MI from 1992-96, all we listened to was Primus! A lot of other bands too actually lol, but definitely LOTS of Primus 😁
Hartland is technically a village. It's amazing what you can find when you live in a village amongst dirt roads and cornfields...it's a whole new level of boredom you have to experience to understand lol. Somehow we managed to find Primus...we had some small towns around us with record stores and as soon as we got licenses we went straight there since that was where the culture was.
While we loved our parents classic rock, we also loved hearing the new music of the day: Pantera, Rage Against the Machine, NOFX, Nirvana, etc. I can't even begin to list the new music coming out at that time that was and still is amazing...but I can tell you it was fun AF 😁😅👍😈😉
Lucky for us we had bigger cities like Detroit about an hour away where we could see great punk bands for cheap. It was awesome!!! Bigger venues like Vans Warped Tour came through cities like Pontiac too, again about 40 mins to an hour outside Hartland so we got to experience some fun shows during and after highschool. You can still catch catch some great punk shows in Detroit except all the bands I like are getting old with me lol...

I was at a Primus concert in the 90s. They hadn't hit arenas yet. In the middle of this song, someone threw a shoe onto the stage. Without missing a line, Claypool interrupted the lyrics to say "Hey, buddy, don't be throwin no shoes up on the stage." In cadence with the song. It was priceless.

I get what Jamel was saying about one member in a band outshining the others, too. Worst case I've seen of that in my life was in the late 90s with this band that must have been local (to Toronto) that was somewhere between grunge and alternative and they were not very good, but the drummer was great. It could have also been that the audience was slightly hostile as this band was a very odd fit to open up for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and Lords of Acid, but they should have done their damn best!

I know you like saxophones so try this one. Jr. Walker & the All-Stars - Gotta Hold On To This Feeling (with lyrics). One of my most favorite songs growing up.

*Yes, and we SUCK!* LOL I remember you watching Those Damn Blue-Collar Tweekers at Woodstock...you looked like you wished you were there. Not many more shows are more fun than a Primus show.

Tommy Bolin: "Wild Dogs". My Personal favorite.
Tommy Bolin: "Dreamer". If you Love Great Dynamics, listen to Tommy Bolin ""Dreamer".
Everyone gets to show off a bit on "Post Toastee".
And from his short stint with The James Gang
    Check out Tommy Bolin "Alexis".
    Try it, you'll like it!!

Every time I see something from Primus or Les Claypool it's like what the heck just happened- really? I guess so - just insanity!

I saw Primus with Rush half or three-quarters of the crowd was hanging out somewhere other than in the arena watching Primus and I watched Primus and I thought they sucked. But as the years go by I realize what a phenomenal insane banned this is

I got the pleasure of seeing these guys (finally) last month. I’ve seen hundreds of bands play. They’re top five easy. They’re so, so good. Love them or hate them, primus sucks 🤪
