Given how disenchanted people are with Disney as a company, renting points to experience DVC makes sense. No sense in fully committing to own DVC nowadays.
Love you guys! I rented points for our family of 4, in January at Old Key West for a 1 bedroom, for 3 nights, and am so excited. Our rental is $483/night. something I would point out when comparing prices is the FL state hotel room tax that you do not pay when you rent DVC points. We're doing 3 nights, which when I compare to rack rate on disney website, we are saving $530 when I compare total price (you have to click the "next" button to add park tix to see price + tax -- tax added $220 to the total). There's no room hotel tax with DVC...I love that your rental price is all you pay for that room.
I am a DVC member who had many DVC points that i could not use during the last 2 years. I was extrememey happy to be able to rent these points through the DVC rental store. It was easy and safe and a perfect solution. I felt so happy creating a reservation for a family to enable them to stay at the Polynesian for their vacation. It was the next best thing to going myself.
Hello to Sue Saunders, our DVC guide who helped us understand the value of purchasing two contracts. Now that she is in resale we would definitely buy from her again. A beautiful woman inside and out! We have also rented from DVC Rental store and the process is clear, concise, and EASY!! Nice to see these reputable companies highlighted here today.
I’ve used all three divisions of the World of DVC (well I guess there are four now with the title company), and have nothing but positive things to say about all three. I have purchased a number of contracts through DVC Resale Market, have financed two contracts through Monera (thanks Amy), and recently rented points out twice through the Rental Store. Every interaction has been smooth and flawless. Don MacGregor.
Thank you for this show. My daughter and her children and myself came last year to WDW after a long time away. We had a great time and are going to take another trip in the next couple of years. We have looked into renting DVC points and this show made me even more convinced to do this the next time we come.
Having a balcony off the room when staying in a Deluxe Resort is probably my favorite thing about being a DVC Member. I spend at least an hour every single morning out there, and often more time in the evenings.
I rented through DVC Rental Store, and I rented through private owners on the DISboards. All of my reservations turned out great. The private owner reservations were much cheaper, but there is always that nervousness that the person could be a scammer. Also, with DVC Rental Store, you can make a small down payment and pay the rest over time. With private owners, they typically want payment in full, as they should, with no real cancellation options.
We only go once every few years, and we always travel with my parents and adult brother as well. Renting DVC points works perfectly for the size and needs of our family. It honestly really helps us get the most bang for our buck, particularly now that deluxe resort guests get the extended evening hours once a week at Epcot and MK. We are really lucky this time around as we will be there during one of the rare extended evenings at DHS this December!
Following Pete’s advice to rent out our points to use the cash for our DCL cruise was priceless. We also made it cheaper for those who rented our points. So savings for all involved!
I used Disney rental store for my September trip and it was a seemless process we are from the uk and even with the food credit they we’re offering it worked out cheaper to book deluxe with you, than moderate with Disney, thank you 😊
@@beckstar78 yes it was part of a package depending on the resort, I think it was a gift card loaded with a set amount that could be used on food and merchandise, but I factored that in when crunching the numbers and it still worked out the same price to book through DVC
I have rented with DVC Rental Store twice this year and I love it! Had a wonderful stay at Polynesian this month and will be at AKL Jambo House in December 👌🏾
I’ve rented points twice, and my parents have rented once. We didn’t use DVC rental, but still saved tons of money to stay at a deluxe resort. Took my son for his 5th birthday and stayed a BLT so that we could walk to MK. I don’t go to Disney enough to buy DVC, but will always look to rent DVC points when we go.
DVC rental store is amazing. They make it completely easy. It’s makes us want to buy DVC. We are currently trying which resort we want to be our home resort.
We used DVC Rental Store for our trip this past August. They were great to work with. It’s the only way we could afford to stay at The Polynesian which has always been my dream.
In 2021 we rented points to stay at Saratoga Springs. I rented a car because of the issues with the buses with reduced capacity and wanting to maintain social distancing. It was nice to be able to park right in front of our building after a day at the parks. It was our first time staying at a deluxe property and we loved our preferred room in the Springs section with access to two pools with slides. It was nice to have those amenities with the parks closing earlier than usual during that time. I’ve tried doing it again but with people returning to the parks it’s been more difficult than get availability for the dates we’ve needed.
I’m glad for this video I just got back from a trip in September. A month before my trip I remember about renting DVC. Didn’t rent because my trip was so close but I’m looking to a trip in April and will definitely rent DVC for the first time. This video helped me so so much
He's right; DVC rental store does go through great lengths to make sure the stuff is legit. I had a Holiday thing; I went to rent a confirmed reservation through them. First time and NERVOUS to do this, yes, glad that I did. It went seemlessly. And like with Pete, I was having my Mom stay there and she's older so you need things to go smooth. I feel confident in it now which is huge for me. So again this year. Got a confirmation number, linked it, showed up in My Disney Experience, added dining reservations to it (which is essential ahead of time). Saw it as my reservation before I got there.
I have both rented points and booked confirmed reservations and have had great experiences with both! The company makes it so easy and it really feels like you are stealing some of your money back from Disney with the rates you are paying for these rooms. I can’t recommend this method enough!
Shortly before Covid I rented DVC points at Old Key West for a one bedroom on a split stay. The other half was at Pop Century at rack rates (long story why) and the costs were almost identical. The OKW room was significantly larger and had a balcony. There were pluses and minuses between the two facilities and some might strongly prefer one over the other, but the price was about equal.
We have rented 9 times since 2015 - it’s perfect for us. I have used 2 different rental companies and both were so easy to work with. We have had wonderful stays at BW, BC, SSR, and BLT renting points.
I am an AP and go to Disney about 3-6 times a year (from Chicago). I rent points about 90% of the time. I absolutely love it! Who wouldn’t want to stay DLX at a Mod price???
I have rented DVC points through another company twice. My second trip is coming up in a few months. Both times I have rented points to get a 2 bedroom savannah view villa. The cost of the two bedroom villa was only 100 more a night than a 2 queen bed studio reserved through Disney.
Thank you for posting this information. I agree this is certainly an important bit of information. I first heard about renting points on your channel a few years ago. I was really interested because a group of friends and myself were talking about a trip to WDW. And to book for 3 seperate families was very expensive, much more so than renting points, and of course you get a nicer room (in my opinion) It is not like it used to be, Disney is not cheap or inexpensive. I recall my parents driving down to Miami with My cousins (they had 5 we were 4) and my parents decided to go to WDW Xmas week 1971. No reservations. We got there and had to wait till 4pm in order to get the room that someone had reserved but never showed up for. So We (my family and my Cousins Family) got 2 rooms in the garden Wing. The only thing that i was not happy about is that i never got to see Mickey (other than in the parade) However Pooh was in the Contemporary on most days and I became a huge fan because i was able to meet him and hug him (i was 6)
Like Paul and Amy, DH and I would stay at value accommodations like Pop Century before joining DVC. Now we have 19 more years of deluxe resorts before the end of our contract.
This sounds amazing. Why doesn't everyone do this? What is the downside to renting DVC points? There must be a reason why everyone is not doing this. I definitely will be considering this for my next trip. I always need 2 bedrooms. Can you do this through the travel agency - Dreams Unlimited Travel? Is it still $200 down and pay off 30 days before go?
I travel for work, so I amass Hilton points. For my husband and I, it makes sense for us to stay at 1 of the 3 Hiltons in LBV. The are a short walk across the street to Disney Springs, they have bus transportation to the parks, and they are usually more economical than a Disney hotel. Mostly, for us, we stay on points.
just back from 3 nights at AKL in a Jambo DVC Value Studio, best savannah views I have ever had. 2 separate DVC PRE CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS rentals but was able to stay in the same room. Avg cost per night all in $305. only negative is those pull out sofas are TERRIBLE. and no motion isues on remy & Cosmic Rewind ( a little wobbly). CR is the most intense ride at disney and those stairs at exit are ridiculous. a 'real' SV room for the same nights was about $830 per night
Note that the Jambo Value studios are one of the hardest to come by in the system alongside the Jambo club level. You lucked out by finding one for rent.
Thank you so much for this video! Want to rent for September or November next year for our 30th wedding anniversary. Did my research and appreciate that you're company doesn't require 100% payment up front. Which month would you recommend? Weather is the deciding factor after the hurricane. Thanks Pete and dvc team😊😊😊
Sorry as I continue to listen I have more questions. We book the 11 month window but then there is no park availability or character advanced dining available or do DVC automatically get park reservations? And we would be eligible to purchase annual passes for renting DVC
You should call and let Paul or his team explain all the fine points! They’re great. Renting points doesn’t provide special access to Annual Passes. Doesn’t guarantee Park reservations either but at 11 mos out, you shouldn’t have any problems securing those. Dining reservations for your whole stay can be made at 60 days out from the first day of it, but can still be hard to get for some restaurants.
I remember, our last year of annual passes in 2007 we stayed at Saratoga springs for 4 nights using dvc rental store. Only cost is $350 flat. And no parking fee and all other benefits. Of course things aren't that cheap anymore and it's just not worth to go to Disney right now. I'll stick to fort wilderness and universal.
Yes you can go on the site and see the prices . the cabins are not part of this thats something completely different..it would be the wilderness lodge area that you would be looking into..the cheaper rentals will be Saratoga and animal kingdom within the Disney world parks.
Excellent information and episode. Is dreams unlimited travel able to take care of everything? Once you’re staying in a DVC villa, even if you rented the points to do so, you have free access to all the Disney transportation at that resort, whether that is just buses or is monorail or skyliner or boat. IMHO the convenience of location & what free Disney transportation options are available at the various DVC resorts should be a big factor in which resort you choose to rent points for
You woud receive early entry as a guest at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. You will receive a confirmation number that you can link to your My Disney Experience Account, similar to any other room reservation through Disney.
