Having owned both xs1 and xs2 back in the early 80's i turned my xs2 into a full chopper using a old bsa tank modified for my bike. There was only one other xs650 of worthiness in my opinion and that was a bobber similiar in the looks to your machine. Casino in Nth N.S.W. was our location at the time. I went on in later years riding all manner of british and american custom bikes but your machine has invoked many fond memories of owning a custom built xs650 yamaha...
Soo good. Didn't like the seat, but for some reason by the end of video I found the lines and really liked it. Didn't want to run a smaller back wheel with bigger bag for some suspension? Hope to see it in the flesh some day, super impressed. I'd personally have made a rear hand brake for more feel and balanced looks.
yes, nice! i can't say i like that fisheye lens or whatever you've got going on with those road shots. makes me kinda seasick and distorts the lines. but the bike is primo.
Check out the build series on our channel hard work, fast bikes, good times. There may be some details there. I can’t remember If not, shoot me an email and I’ll give you a few quick pointers
This is always such a dumb conversation to engage in, but if it really matters and you want to get definitive. A “Bobber” is a stock bike, with fenders removed and lightened. A “Chopper” is a bike that’s been chopped and modified , in this case we’ve modified the Neck angle, the back bone and built a hard tail.
@@PurposeBuiltMoto what’s your thoughts on that. If everything lines up relatively close and just needs minimal adjustment. Would it not make for a healthy cheap power upgrade.
The engine is so clean nice work
One of my all time favorite engines
We love this little town and country ripper!
Absolutely beautiful build! Y’all never cease to amaze, very impressive! 🔥
Thanks Andrew, best part is I get to keep this one
great job mate, that thing is frickin awesome
SwEEt! That's the finest XS650 chop I've ever seen. Great work Brutha!
Thanks dude!
Bloody Hell, a lot going on there eh! You've definitely put a lot of thought and love into that mate. 👌
It’s time to put that energy into your Ducati.

Thats great to hear Brian.
Gorgeous Build!!
Stunning
Awesome build. I love that whole front end its giving BMX vibes
Cheers Ferg, the thing feels like a bmx to ride
VERY NICE!
Stunning bro
I hope you start selling that entire front end set up Tom. Once again home run my friend.
I dont think so mate, i like creating unique peices like that. although the different parts are readily available to get creative with your own

This things does know what it is
❤
That bike looks cool as I am in the process of rebuilding a xs650 I will not hard tail my bike I prefer the Japanese style
Nice one noel, thanks for watching
Yes that's it. That exhaust pipes are too narrow, no bass line but excellent. Beautiful bike.
Those foot controls are fucking brilliant!
Cheers man. It was a bit of a risk but so far so good!
@@PurposeBuiltMoto I'd be really interested in knowing how exactly you guys executed that. I really want to do something similar on my next XS build!

@@PurposeBuiltMoto Maybe I didn't watch enough of them but I got to #4 and there wasn't much said about the foot controls.
How costly was this build? Did this run you? If you don't mind me asking.
This is very nice, excellent work! But isn't it a bobber rather than a chopper?

Where is the suspension in the back side?
It’s a hard tail, with a spring seat
Forward controls look whack😢 that hurts. I love my hardtail xs650 with apehangers and forward controls. Love your bike to though, awesome job!
I’m a short guy, and the XS is a small bike, I just think forwards look out of place for what’s a pretty sporty looking chopper
You think you could stick a tx750 in that frame relatively easy. I have a dead xs650 and the opportunity to get the tx750 for cheap.
It would be possible, but you’re better off just rebuilding the XS engine

Look at the reviews for the TX750 and the specs
There’s a reason they only lasted for 3 years in production.
The XS650 went for over 15
That rear sissybar looks useless.
It is useless, the bike has no back seat.
thats my only complaint
You know what? I take it back looks nice from the back lol
pretty bike but, it ain't a chopper, its a bobber. get it right next time!
This argument is so tiring, usually initiated by blokes with no idea what they’re on about and too much time on their hands
