Now of course there are still issues with linux, in a specific case scenario some issues do occur but over my time using linux desktop on multiple distro's on atleast 5 different computers that range from a amd athlon 4 laptop, desktop intel cpu from 2013, a 2015 intel laptop with a intergrated gpu, ryzen 3700x + rtx 2060, and my main currently a 3700x + rx 6700, all work as intended under linux :P
If they're that bold on the surface with ads, imagine what else is happening behind the scenes that we don't hear about
I got myself a new laptop and got exposed to Win11 for the first time, and it is honestly an awful experience. Multiple ads during install/update, bad AI, a horribly designed dock, MASSIVELY intrusive meddling with the system at a BIOS/UEFI level.
How is this happening again? I thought the EU smacked them down about shit like this some time ago. With the new Apple lawsuits, it might be time to remind them what is what.
yes it suck and windows 10 is last. thats why we installed it bcoz offer was free LOL. to get you microsoft aore, but it not worked. 11 with ads try replace it. we disguis 11 and skip it. what 12 is... linux here we come(choose any million distro u not like it any way)
I discovered Arch because that’s what Steam Deck’s distro is based on. Never heard of it. Was comical trying to set it up for the first time, but I learned a lot more than I did with Ubuntu or Fedora. Been using Linux for more than a year and I’m not going back.
I've never had a bug free experience on windows
If we're talking bugs.
Every windows laptop I ever owned, (I still use one now), has a tenuous relationship with wifi.
You boot it, it works fine, eventually after 1 hour or 8 hours it varies, the wifi will stop working briefly and it will reconnect and it might work or it might not.
At that point the only fix for the wifi is a reboot. I never understood why macs gets better wifi than windows machines.
Thanks, man, great content. I left Windows for Linux Mint in 2020, the year Microsoft ceased support for Windows 7. I'd been a Windows user since Windows 95, but I'll never go back. Linux is awesome.
That's awesome, glad you have been enjoying it as much as i have, thank you for the tip also :)
Is the version of Windows in the US worse than in the EU?
Aside from the initial installation, Windows hardly ever interrupts me.
When I hear others complain about being bombarded with ads and messages constantly, it seems like the US version of Windows is much worsen
Apart from browsing, my main use for a PC is playing video games. While it's great that I can customize my Linux distribution, it doesn't matter much when I'm focused on my browser or playing a games. Beyond changing the theme in KDE, there isn't anything particularly special I do with Linux that I couldn't do on Windows.
I use Linux out of curiosity, especially since I own a Steam Deck. However, I still boot most of the time into Windows because games I want to play either don't run on Linux, perform better on Windows, are simpler to set up, or lack certain features on Linux.
I really like Linux for just browsing, but Windows hasn't given me any significant reasons to dislike it; it functions well and personally doesn't trouble me-I can accomplish what I need without issues.
Perhaps this may change one day, but I don't foresee Windows becoming so problematic and annoying for me that fixing issues in Linux would be a less annoying alternative.
Yes it is worse, in Australia we get the same experience as America does, the eu is just built differently with their laws
If it ends in N it's the EU version, KN is Korea. It was more significant when you had to install the OS from a CD in the 2000's, which is why those still exist as separate versions for anticompetitive laws to this day. Anyone can grab those versions these days though
Yeah, thats the real question: What the hell is MS doing with windows?
I'm not a power user of windows but I've used it all my life (95, XP, 7, 10). It was alright for my day to day business and gaming...but the recent developments (pushing to the account, ads, Copilot, spying etc pp) are driving me crazy.
Again: WTH MS?
yucky windows 11
Honestly, the way they're implementing them, I don't have a problem with it myself. It's when they start to get greedy and make ads distracting and obnoxious, that's where I draw the line.
And Nobara is just fedora, but without the hassle of installing a bunch of programs, repositories and ESPECIALLY nvidia drivers.
So it's just ready to go as soon as you install it.
Yessir :)
You nailed it! It's honestly ridiculous, that Windows shows AD's for a paid OS.. cmon..
Btw, love your Distro recommendations, I agree with every Distro on there, I just miss Debian, but honestly I don't even know 1 person, that I'd recommend Debian. :D
Great vid! keep it up, can't wait for more pro Linux Vids, specially when Windows 10 will be EOL next year!
Hey i have a question,do you recommend using Lubuntu as a main os ?
If no, can you givr a lightweight and stable destro (:
Lubuntu could be good, its using lxqt so in terms of lightweight it will be, i havent used it but it should be ok
Love the wallpaper. By any chance would you mind sharing it?

As I have said many times before and will continue to say is that if capitalistic corporations and organisations could get away with murder in persuit of money they totally would do it...
I like to mention 2 distros for new users because they are not popular like linux mint so they always not got covered
Ultramarine linux based on fedora
Tuxedo os based on ubuntu with KDE Plasma
*Remember Arch is not for begginers, if you're not willing to learn and having to face the setbacks of Arch, go with Linux Mint*
Linux Mint *Cinammon* if you have an SSD
Linux Mint *XFCE* if you have an HDD
Easily 10k subs by the end of the year.
Microsoft Is working really hard on making the "Year of the Linux Desktop" a reality.
They are also testing ads again in file explorer, adding ai explorer that will watch what you do in windows 11 and try to learn what you do while giving things back to you 🙃
Just what you want a os to do right?
Windows 11 looks so pretty inside a VMWARE 😅❤
After over a decade of both Win & Linux use i finally dropped Windows completely, long time Mint user so that final cut was pretty painless. 🙂
edit: most of your recommended new user distros, while enthusiastically mentioned, would probably scare people off; stick to Mint/Ubuntu & Zorin until they decide to move... don't throw ppl onto the bleeding edge because it's cool. lol
Oh and gaming on Nobara was nice but gaming on Mint is more stable, for me at least.
I dont know if you listened to what i said but i said if your experienced use those bleeding edge distros, i didnt say it was cool, the same with arch i say if you are fully technically involved in software and hardware then you should try it, i then recommend linux mint, zorin for people that want to use linux without needing to learn much or to put it on a pc or laptop that is rather old.
@@linuxnext I watched it, i would have pushed the easier distros first and then moved on to the the more involved ones but that's just me, thanks for the reply.
they enabled it and spam ads because more ads appear more money for them! it is really simple. it is not just microsoft that does this
for the first time i got the phone that is filled with ads. They show in file manager, in camera in, changing background picture..
its xiaomi poco. Thanks god it had hidden options to disable them.
wtf is going on with this ad plague, so annoying
I buy poco phones just to flash a custom rom on it because they offer good hardware for the price, im using a poco f3 right now with pixel os on it
@@linuxnext i have X3 PRO 256 gb it is good phone but it has ads
L I N U X ! ! !
M$ is just conditioning the sheeple to accept ads. 4 months of teething pain and you could be a linux user free from all this nonsense. Upgrading from the terminal is just as easy as a GUI. It is just different. You soon get used to it as it more powerful. As your linux skills grow it becomes second nature. The only thing I miss from windows is the drivers and control software for musical instruments, RGB, etc. All we get is mac/pc versions.
just get rid of them like i did by turning windows 11's visuals into xp's B)
While I agree with almost everything you say and am not myself a windows user anymore, Linux is even older under the hood. Shit. AmigOS and Haiku is more modern than Linux.
Yeah but linux continues to evolve and grow, I don't see windows improving their kernel that often lol, but i guess its proprietary so thats why i cant see what they're doing
windows 10 not have ads and looks better and is faster ops lol. windows 11 key can activate 10. windows 10 work after support end and if peoples still use. they continue. mean secure update but windows 10 is final no other updates. bcoz its same as 11 so same fixes work xD.
but they could also. bcoz....peoples like 10 we ad ADS win/win situation LOL. linux here i come ! debian base and ubuntu theme, but not ubuntu distro bcoz its debian but i use debian stable not alöpha beta tesing that ubuntu is LOL
After all that spiel about Windows, you tell people to buy a fucking Mac?!
Not saying mac is better but people use it so its a option lol
mac is a better option for everyday use besides gaming
@@sterben4958 You still have way more freedom on Windows that you do on Mac, especially with the hardware.
@@cookieface80 As an everyday linux/mac user, i can say that's already changing, and even using the terminal in macos is way easier and much safer than it is on windows, i dropped windows 3 yrs ago and since ive been on linux and mac, both have given me a much better experience so far.
You sure can raise a mac DE like you can in linux, and non-official apps can be installed in a similar way to how flatpaks run on linux, none of those things are easily achieved on windows
No I don't like ads in my windows computer but I also don't like how Linux users attempt to shove linux down my throat
Why you watching this video? You clicked on it, tell youtube to stop recommending this to you
@@linuxnext I still attempt to get both sides of the story before criticism
