Love it. Took everyones best & sometimes cheapest shots, never retaliated, never showed anyone up always acted like he's been there before & would be returning too. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Never was a Redskins fan but, he was a hell of a running back. Behind the "Hogs" , that team was one of the best in NFL history. Love hearing all the announcers in these clips...when football was real and a man's game...unlike today's player's and product.
I've met him a number of times, the guy will talk to anyone and will gladly have a drink & tell you a great training camp story. The guy is as real as it gets.
Very well stated can tell you are a true fan of the game. The old game. Not NBA All-Star game caliber of play we see on the gridiron today. Thank you for watching & commenting.
Yeah guys, as a 52yrs long suffering jets fan, lol, cried as a kid when the jets traded him to the skins, my favorite player, still is today, but so glad that he won a superbowl and the hearts of Washington, hats off to you, JOHN RIGGINS! Peace ✌ ☮ out!!
Riggo was one of a kind, a big back that could run over you with good speed. In 79 against the Cowboys he broke off about a 60, 70 yard run where he just ran away from guys. The 82 playoffs and SB he became a legend.
Very well stated amazing to be able to take an entire season off (in his 30's) & still return to cement his legacy. Thank you for watching & commenting.
if your'e in the DC area on October 22 you can meet the great John Riggins at the CSA show and get his autograph and have a photo taken with him, but I have to tell you, it ain't cheap, this is John Riggins we're talking about here
@@nflxfiles Yup! Decided not to get Riggo's autograph, too expensive - did get a photo of him from afar though! But I got a photo with the great Joe Theismann and Dexter Manley, they don't charge as much as Riggins :) It'll be in my next vlog
Any GROWN MAN that'd want- much less PAY- for a pic or someone else writing their name on a piece of paper ....deserves to get laughed at & taken to the cleaners
Riggins was good during his last foray in the NFL with the Redskins BECAUSE of the GREAT OFFENSIVE LINE that opened holes and crushed the defense where a truck could be drive through the holes they made....John took care of the rest in open field running. No question Riggins was one of the BEST running backs the NFL has EVER had.
He could have been as good as Brown if he'd been featured during his prime. Riggings didn't get his just due until he was over 30 years old. Brown was retired by then. John's best years were squandered.
Memories... Just want to say the Native Americans I know felt it was a crime to change the name of the Redskins. It was there team and proud of it. Now they have no team..
THE JETS NEVER SHOULD HAVE LET HIM GET AWAY. THEY SHOULD'VE BUILT THE TEAM AROUND HIM. (He sat out a year. He blocked for Joe Washington. He might've added 1500 yards or more to his career rushes. These will be my dying words.)
Remember he sat out a season in a contract dispute. Could have added another 1000 yards+ and 10 or more touch downs to his record. That a primarily between the Tackles fullback lasted 14 years is remarkable. Earl Campbell lasted what, 8 or 9? Dished out as much punishment as he received and never got tired. Was just as strong in the last quarter as the first. Riggins and that O-Line just wore defenses down.
So true. 2 carries & they're asking or told to get off the field. Plus nobody truly runs the football anymore. NBA all star game type fast break passing. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Riggins didn’t spike the football, he spiked opposing players.
Love it. Took everyones best & sometimes cheapest shots, never retaliated, never showed anyone up always acted like he's been there before & would be returning too. Thanks for watching & commenting.

Truly one of greatest running backs of all time.

Speed and power

John Riggins is my favorite running back. He was fast and tough.
Best Fullback I ever saw, unless you count Jim Brown.
He could have been as good as Brown if he'd been featured during his prime. Riggings didn't get his just due until he was over 30 years old. Brown was retired by then. John's best years were squandered.
Fantastic receiver and blocker also

That’s FN POWER
Diesel fits right in with guys like
- Campbell
- K. Mack
- Bettis
- Okoye
-Csinka
- Alstott
- D.Henry
- Heyward
- Herschel
Completely gives him the business! Great list of power backs. Appreciate you watching & commenting.

Amen. Thanks for watching & commenting. Hail.
John Riggins and the Hogs was the team I enjoyed!! The REDSKINS were our team....today's NFL has a long way to go.....
Love it. Hail to the Redskins. The new NFL will never catch up, it'll only fall further & further behind. Thank you for watching & commenting.
He was fun to watch
5:25: THAT is the measure of John Riggins. Two outstanding blocks.
He weighed 250 the day he broke the super bowl run. No fullback was ever that big and could run 4.4. The greatest ever.
He wasn't 4.4 towards then end of his career. I don't thing he was 250. Big and fast? YUP!
For a few seasons he ran behind one of the greatest offensive lines in NFL history.
Amen to that. Thank you for watching & commenting. Hail.
He was pretty much part of the o-line whenever he wasn't running the ball.
Jealous snowflake
Not a single Hog weighed more than 300 pounds
Like he wasn't good...lol
As a young teenager I loved watching him.
I love Riggins..And I'm a Cowboys fan 😂😂
Love this. Appreciate you watching & commenting good luck to your cowboys this season.
😊 A real mans man
Hail yes. Thanks for watching.

I loved Riggins but hated seeing him pound my Cowboys.
Many great meetings between your Boys & Riggo. Thank you for watching & commenting.
I used to be a Redskins fan. I don't follow that team with the other name.
Amen!
Then you’re no true fan. You won’t be missed 😮
@@mrrock6248 I will always be a Redskins fan!!!!!
Same ////will never root for the Wokeskins ❗🙄

And, he spent time blocking for Joe Washington.
one time against st Louis Cardinals they said he fumbled but replay proved he didn't but the Cardinals got the ball anyway
Seven carries on ONE DRIVE!! A RB today is lucky to get 7 carries a half. Soft as_ NFL.

Damn son, show em how the White man run the ball
Hilarious. White man with occasional fro at that. Appreciate you watching & commenting.
Don Frye of football.
There will not be another Riggo in my lifetime.
Not a chance with the NFL of today. His place is secure anyway.
The one & only. A true original. Thank you for watching & commenting.
Redskins 4 Life
Braves on the warpath.
Amen. Appreciate you watching & commenting.
Fight on, fight on...sons of Washington. Hail.
He ran the same throughout all four quarters and wore the defense down.
Facts. Thanks for watching. Hail.
Hey man,he ran behind the Hawgs.Best offensive line in football history
Riggins was the best hog of the bunch
Aldo ran behind this horrible Jet lines.
Another Jet mistake. It will never end.
Blair Thomas agrees. Thanks for watching. J-E-T-S
John Riggins is great! The documentary...could have been a lot better.
I feel the same way about this comment...could been a lot better :) Highlights btw. Not a documentary. Thank you for watching.
