"Hell Froze Over" or "Hell Freezes Over" would be a sick PPV/PLE name.
It would be a good name for a WWE vs AEW PPV
They did have an In Your House 🏡 Pay Per View called A Cold ❄ Day in Hell. It took place in May 1997 and the main event was Undertaker defending the WWE Championship against Stone Cold Steve Austin
I could see NXT branding one of theirs with it. It has more of an Attitude Era feel to it. Shawn and HHH seem to be fond of using those retro WWE PPV names. It’d fit right in I think.
If wwe ever did a forbidden door type ppv it would be a good name
A frozen Hell in a Cell for the main event, Blue Kane vs. Glacier.
Lot of wrestling talk in this Eagles podcast
Also, Ryback is the Don Felder
Oh you nailed that one 🤘😂
Came here to comment Ryback.
Alberto Del Rio is the Don Felder of wrestling
I'll second that
I concur
This was going to be my answer.
Bingo
Ryback and Alberto definitely on that boat 😂😂
Mickie James showing up on WWE with an IMPACT championship is crazy nuts
And being billed as "impact women's champion" with her music.
And she got eliminations. I popped
That actually happened? Holy shit
@@invadazim4320 yeah james is a legend and tripps respects that
@@invadazim4320 yeah 2022 rumble, came out with the belt and all
biggest Hell Freezes Over that isn't Punk returning to WWE would probably be Vince no longer being in charge of creative while still alive.
the Don Felder of Wrestling is of course Alberto Del Complains on Periscope Patron
One return that always shocked me was Jeff Jarrett returning and being inducted in the HoF. He was publicly fired and started the company that was WWE's closest competition during the early 2000s.
One that was shocking to me isn't any one specific person but a lot of indy guys since the 2010s being allowed to keep their indy name was a shock
Sting showing up in WWE. I never thought that would happen.
I never ever thought Stone Cold would come out of retirement, even when the kevin owens segment was announced for the wrestlemania 38 main event.
Don Felder is a great performer. I’ve seen him live multiple times. He was very nice during the meet & greet.
Having said that… Alberto El Patron.
Vince selling WWE and seemingly stepping down is a hell hath frozen over moment for sure. Thought Vince would die in the Gorilla position.
Sadly it was his other positions that cost him his job 😂
Honestly so did Vince from the stories told by those who work in Guerilla and the preparation in place if he croppy flopped mid broadcast.
Austin Aries is the Don Felder of wrestling.
Yes
If Talking Heads ever reunite, that's your Hell Froze Over.
One I think was missed is Mickie James coming out in the 2022 rumble with her impact theme and the impact women’s championship
Karrion Kross winning a match i think would classify for a hell freezing over event.
One of them has to be Cody returning to WWE. Punk may have been the face of the anti WWE crowd; Cody was the voice AND the flag bearer. Hell, it could be argued that he was the main reason AEW eventually became a thing. All of that just to go back and become the biggest face of the company is massive.
Ryback is definitely the Don Felder of wrestling
recently, TNA announce Okada showing up is a hell frozen over moment
The Eagles are now just an Eagles tribute band
Man, y’all lost me with the eagles talk lmaooooo and I thought I was old lol
You forgot to put the CM PUNK return in your final rankings lol
A) Needs more historical context and B) in the heat of filming we forgot 🤣😬🥳
I feel like Hogan turning heel should be on the list.
Honky Tonk Man is the Don Felder of wrestling.
Deadlock would approve lmao
For me it was Stone Cold shaking Vince McMahon's hand on Wrestlemania X7. I remember watching it live.
Heavy Metal by Don Felder is a solid jam.
I’m surprised we didn’t get Steve becoming a huge fan for Dom.
Thanks for reading my comment! I'm glad it made the top ten. Sting in WWE is definitely worth it. Also, wow and eagles reference that's not about Philadelphia. Hooray! But everyone hates my eagles like they hate that guy.
Jericho shows up in New Japan and challenges Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom.
You don't have AEW without it.
Kinda surprised by no mention of Lesnar ending the streak. The streak had been built up as this mythical thing that has become integral to the build and even the marketing for Mania every year, and Taker's match had been the best on the Mania card for the previous half decade. Additionally Lesnar hadn't yet begun his run as "The Beast" and was still kinda being booked as a goober (he'd been back for two years and his two most high-profile matches to that point were clean losses to Cena and Triple H), and the build for their match had been pretty middling. NO ONE thought Brock had a chance. In terms of kayfabe moments, that's my #1.
same here, i remember watching the 3 count happen in real time, i’ve never been so taken aback as fan in all my years of watching wrestling. i genuinely just didn’t think it was gonna happen. afterwards, i was legit bummed out. at the time, i wasn’t a fan of the finish, but when i think about it now, probably one of my all time favorite moments as a wrestling fan. so glad i got to witness it!!!
The problem with that is it was gonna happen eventually and Undertaker was majorly winding down his career. I don't think there was really any better person to beat him and having it end at a big anniversary year like 30 really made sense. It might have been shocking in the moment but it's not on the level of some of the other things that have been mentioned.
I’d have had the ending of the Streak as a hell freezes over moment because I don’t think anyone would have thought that The Streak was ever going to be broken
Wasn't there some story about Vince working on a hit piece for Bret, but stopping short of releasing it when they buried the hatchet?
honorable mention: firefly funhouse match
The streak ending seemed like a big Hell Freezes over thing.
Bischoff and Vince embracing
Larson finally heard a non wrestling joke for the first time in forever and it tickled him endlessly
Disco Inferno has to be the Don Felder of professional wrestling surely?
Tyrus is the don felder of wrestling
Thank you The ONE MORE MATCH thing was sooo bad.
Sting in WWE was definitely a hell froze over moment. He hated the way WWE treated WCW guys and decided to avoid it because he knew he’d get screwed. He jobbed to H at mania (shocker) and that buckle bomb vs Seth put the nail in the coffin. It was cool while it lasted 🤷🏾♂️
The Don Felder of wrestling is Shane Douglas 😆
Christian's "One More Match" run was a snarky heel run tho
I was shock when Sable return in 2003. Hope she inducted in HoF one day
You have seriously underplayed the magnitude of Bruno coming back after nesrly 30 yrars.
I’m surprised no mention of Jeff Jarrett returning to WWE after how he held up Vince in 1999 before leaving
Sable returning after suing the company was a hell froze over moment
Meh
Undertaker vs Goldberg was more like a room suddenly turning into a sauna and then to literal hell
Christian to TNA because it was the first truly big switch since WCW went bust and secondly, Vince wanted to keep him but he decided to bet upon himself. That move opened the door for others like Angle and Booker T
Here are some other Hell Frozen Over Moments.
Alundra Blayze returns to the WWE years after she infamously dropped the WWF Womens title into the Trash Can live on WCW Nitro.
Wendi Richter being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Just years after the Original Screw Job.
Ric Flair signs with the WWF and brings in the WCW World Heavyweight Title.
Mickie James brining in the Knockouts title at the Royal Rumble
WWE allowing Nakamura wrestle The Great Muta in NOAH.
Hell freeze over was Mickey James walking down the ring with the impact women championship. Who would thought you would seen a different championship on wwe tv
Punk not on the list is a crime
Did you even watch the video?
Virgil is the Don Felder of wrestling
Ah, a podcast about Don "Ryback" Felder
I think Roman making changes to his appearance (the new teeth, the full beard, the fade) had a lot to do with the character change. I don’t think you can have a fully realized Head Of The Table character with gap tooth and the goatee.
Alberto is the Don Felder.
Paul Roma is the Don Felder of wrestling
Never heard a wrestler like Disco inferno.
Punk coming back to WWE would be more unbelievable if he had not gone to AEW first.
Wouldn't the biggest kayfabe thing be Undertaker losing at Wrestlemania?
X-pac heat was a thing but I'd love to see him do more matches now. Idk if anyone has stayed hated like Don Felder lol
Hogan? 😂
Hannibal has to be the don felder
Teddy hart is the Don Felder of wrestling
Here’s a question I have would Roman be as big now if he wasn’t pushed down our throats before?
Friendo club is now Fuck Don Felder gang
The biggest hell freezes over wrestling moment while be if WWE & AEW ever decide to make more money than God with a mixed two night card!
Jon Moxley vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins, MJF vs Cody Rhodes, Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson vs CM Punk, The Uso's vs the Bucks and so much more!
Going back to the 90's. Flair leaving WCW with the big gold belt.
Don Felder is either Nasty Boy.
The only right answer is Disco Inferno
id say enzo
I feel like 99.99% of the wrestling world dislikes Disco Inferno.
Hulk Hogan is the Don Felder
I wonder what will be the first big hell freezing over moment that AEW has. Cody going back, or punk going back. Even if it's just for AEW Hall of Fame which they will introduce one day.
The first 2:30 minutes had me in stitches 😂😂
Disco inferno is the one thats hated
Enzo maybe as the eagles member equivalent
Maybe ryback ADR
The ending of the streak not even mentioned????
If kayfabe is going to be part of this list then this should be on top not Austin and Vince joining forces.
That’s no better than Austin and Triple H joining as a team as well.
Collision in Korea 😂
WWE buying WCW is heads and tails above all of the other examples in my opinion. It changed the wrestling world forever and established WWE as really the only viable option for most wrestlers in North America until AEW. There may have been other competitors like TNA/Impact but they never had the establishment and legacy behind them that WCW had.
Vince buys WCW felt completely outlandish...but then again WWE buys out competition all the time in a manor of speaking given their history so I can accept that.
I never would have called WWE selling. I know this was picked up by news sites long before it happened...but realistically people still naturally assumed Vince would die at the head of the company and pass it on to others in the family. No one seriously thought they wanted to sell. I still don't get why they sold...I'm curious if that was Vince's wishes of if perhaps the rest of the family had no interest in maintaining the business long term.
The don felder pn wrestling should be enzo
Dom Felder 😅
Would Jim Cornette be the Dan Felder?
I think Jin Cornette is more polarizing than flat out hated. Personally, I enjoy listening to him reminisce about his career or ripping into Vince Russo. However, I am not a fan of his rants against current pro wrestling.
I hope you guys are at least having fun because the nonstop cm punk circus is really… not my thing lol. The next hell freezing over moment is when people stop centering the entire wrestling industry around one mid ass guy. Until that day, I’m gonna be taking a break from all wrestling content. I still love you guys though!
If you're not enjoying wrestling it doesn't hurt to take a break. From what I can tell this is what wrestling has always been. Before Vince took over Bruno was on top. During Vince's time there have been a lot of top guys. Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena, Roman.
The funny thing is, besides us using him to intro the video, we barely mention him and he doesn’t land in the top 9 we come up with.
@@FriendoClubTV I should apologize for not watching the full video (I might now and just fast forward), and please know I’m not trying to be argumentative. While the list might not include punk, it is seemingly (sorry) centered around his whole “hell froze over” mission statement. In my head just thinking “gosh, MORE punk daily” lol. Apologies for being overdramatic but that dude was the face of the most exhausting & depressing stretch I’ve had with wrestling following All Out. I know it’s all very flimsy reasoning lol but I’m just trying to keep positive and looking back at my first comment, I should have probably worded it better.
Cody leaving AEW for WWE
Hardly anyone likes Ole Anderson. Not that he cares.
CM Punk vs Dom th-cam.com/video/GWiiawB-6B0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=trUq69Nh4gYHsMvE
Wouldn't call Punk returning to WWE a hell freezing over moment primarily because of unimaginable returns prior like Warrior, Bret and Jarrett.
When it happens time and again that disbelief / shock lessens considerably to the point where it's just a matter of time until it happens.
Punk to AEW though maybe, I don't like the guy, he's dull and more toxic than anyone else in wrestling currently but after embarrassing himself spectacularly at MMA thought he'd disappear quietly.
You thought Punk was going to AAA ...
😂
Nope, I said I can see him going there, not that I thought he would, there's a difference. At the time it was a seemingly viable option for a toxic individual such as him since AAA seem to have no issue hiring bad actors, see El Patron.@@PaxBisonica89
Ahmed Johnson is the Don Felder of the wrestling world. Nobody likes him.
I'm first, hell just froze over
Here we go again another reason to talk about punk. 🙄
Ur a fun one
Nobody forced you to click on the video. They make Punk videos because people click on them.
Jericho is beginning to go into Don Felder territory lol
IMO Jericho is becoming Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
or just Hogan minus the racism @@perceivedvelocity9914
Disco Inferno is the Don Felder of wrestling
