I wanted to say thanks, I was just getting curious on nano quad copters and found your channel. I very much appreciate the clarity and thorough coverage of your reviews. You also do a wonderful job mixing different forms of sharing information in your videos, all of which clearly take a good deal of extra effort. Truly appreciated and looking forward to viewing your whole catalog here.
Willie, Completely agree with your assessment on this heli. It is a great one for sure! -6g mode is perfect for beginner CP pilots -Super tough, takes crashes as well as the Nano - the main gear fuse is a great concept -Cheap replacement parts -Easy to service - well laid out components -Brushless (main) power -Once you get past the toy looks ,the transmitter is actually ok! -Last but certainly not least, awesome flying dynamics in 3g mode, it flies like a much larger heli, not twichy like a HCP100
Hi Willie, I bought a v930 not long ago and fell in love with it. But it is as you know it ia a fixed pitch heli. I could not believe the power and length of flight time as compared to my v912 and v911. Now I have been looking at the v977. Your extremely well done video finally made my mind up and I plan to order one. It will be my first collective pitch helicopter. Thank you again for ALL the information. You answered all my questions. Eddie Solomons
+Eddie Solomons Eddie, thanks a ton for the great comment & I'm glad you were able to glean some good information from watching the video. You'll love the V977 as your first CP heli especially if you start your training in the 6G mode. Let me know if there's anything else I can suggest or help you with. BTW: Check out this video of mine to get an idea of how to advance quickly in your CP training: th-cam.com/video/kOKd3mHhhZM/w-d-xo.html Enjoy!
Willie, you are absolutely correct. The 977 has the best, stability gyros. And it is so incredibly durable that I've smacked it into chain link fences with no damage but maybe a popped link or displaced swash plate. Some fiddling and back in the air. This one taught me the muscle memory that has you inputting the correct direction on the rotor and the tail. You can do all this before committing to your expensive, larger, much more fragile heli. The Blade was good, this one is the BEST. I wish that WL would come out with the exact same heli in a 250 and 450 size.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and to help me out. I was originally leaning toward the 120sr, but, my LHS told me they're being discontinued. I don't have the funds to get into the 200srx, so I guess the V911 will be my next heli.Thank you again for taking the time. ScottP.s. I have subscribed to your channel!
Thank you for the video I'm new too flying helicopters started with 3 channel dual and moved up to the wl v911 fp and have been wanting to move up to a CP heli I done some research and came across your video and after watching I feel more comfortable making the choice in the v977. Great video very informative thanks again
+Justhererandom Thanks for checking out my channel and leaving a comment. You will be extremely pleased with purchasing the V977. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with & I hope you subscribe to my channel so you can view future uploads. Enjoy!
Hi William, your videos are a great contribution to beginning heli pilots. I also have a V977 and it is truly a great helicopter for $100 or less. I only wish the transmitter rates were programmable, as to me the 3D rates are too high even on low. Keep up the good work and happy flying!
James Williams James, thanks for the comment and I agree with all of your points of view. Still for $100 bucks which is ready to fly out of the box, what more could we complain about. It's still an enjoyable heli to fly. And, I DO plan on continuing to helping as many beginning pilots as I can thanks to folks like yourself. Enjoy!
Hello Willie, I want to say thank you very very much for all your videos they are very informative and teach you how to fly many helicopters and on top of that your voice has a calming, soothing effect it makes me sort of just zone out of everything else and only listen to whatever you're saying and not worry about anything and it is really effective in keeping your mind on what you want to listen to and not wandering thoughtlessly. I love your channel I love your videos I love your reviews please don't ever stop your helping me get into this hobby like nothing I've ever gotten into before, it is awesome, thank you very much really! Your #1 Fan Wayne! PS it's because of your videos I even started to try and fly a helicopter
Wayne, I started uploading beginner rc modeling videos to this channel in 2013 and I would have to say that your comment has topped them all. I really do appreciate everything you said and it's your type of comment that helps me to keep producing them because I can tell that I've also received my fair share of hateful and even racists comments. Personally, I see a LOT of benefis for anyone sharing their video on TH-cam. Just last night I went online and discovered how to repair a problem with my Phantom Pro quad. That video saved me so much frustration and time and I'm thankful to the guy that produced it. It's a give and take opportunity for anyone using TH-cam and I'm hoping to "tell it like it is" for as long as I can manage my channel. Thanks again for your comment and stay in touch. Enjoy!
Nice little video, your goin to love this v977 , I've had mine for about a year now , it Flys great and take a beating .I've since updated to metal rotor assembly and extended tail boom, with 500 mag battery. This heli is the best bang for the buck. I don't recommend beginner pilots blinging out their heli as they may get discouraged with the cost of replacing parts. Crash packs from banggood are pretty cheap and express shipping is not bad either .Happy flying
Michael, thanks for your comments and I can tell you that I'm really sold on this heli especially since I've only flown Blade helis in the past. I don't have any plans to "bling" it out because I'm planning to do all my 3D training with it then transfer those skills to my Blade 450X. Thanks for the tips and stay in touch.
I've owned the Nano CPX and it was great flying, but FRAGILE...always seemed to be breaking something. Heard about the v977 from my son a year ago (when I first bought the nano but was trying to justify my purchase)...the price of parts kept on adding up. I finally saw your video about the v977 just recently and went ahead and purchased it...realizing I had at this point began to lose interest in rc helicopters. From the first flight (and crash) I just knew this is probably the BEST training aide next to a SIM. This heli is rugged and because of the many features, so easy to learn how to fly and now enjoying it all over again! I am confident now that the v977 will eventually give me enough confidence to fly my 450 pro which I have been deathly afraid to fly...just because of it being so expensive and intimidating. I am now able to fly (in 6g) momentum turns, fixed collective turns, circles, piroettes, etc...gaining confidence with each battery (I purchased 16 batteries!). Working on nose in flying and soon I want to try 3d! With this heli you cannot go wrong unless you turn it into a yard dart or accidentally step on it. The brushless motor is a plus as I can fairly fly it with a light trade wind blowing...the nano would always kiss the dirt. As of this writing, I have order another v977 to switch off and let the other cool down and rest on my days flying. Anyone serious about saving money and learning colletive pitch flying you cannot go wrong with the v977 (IMHO).
+Edwin Mendija Wow! Thanks for the great comment and conformation of what I've said about the V977. For the price and how well it handles I agree with you that it's a bargain of a CP trainer. From one heli pilot to another I can tell you up front that I was shaking in my boots the day I decided to maiden flight my Blade 450X after spending months of training on the Nano. From the moment it started spooling up I knew I needed to exercise caution+safety yet exhibit confidence in my flying skills that I'd gained from sim time and Nano flight time. From what you've told me about how you've taken your time in advancing your flying skills there is no doubt that you'll be more than ready to maiden you 450 Pro. Congrats in advance...let me know when you do. Enjoy!
Great video Willie. I love my V977 and have over 150 flights on this bird. I use this one for inverted training. It's so easy to go from 6 to 3 axis then throttle up and back to while flying. I tried to flip it inverted 8 times and crashed every time so far. I only broke the tail and landing skids so far. I also bought a BNF for when this bird breaks totally but that has not happen yet. Cheap price and durability and easy to fly this heli has it all. Keep up the good work. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Terry L Hey, Terry, to receive such a compliment from you is cool. I've personally viewed several of your videos and find them entertaining & informative, especially the one with your wife. I've inverted twice since buying the V977, but I chicken out at the critical moment and hit throttle hold which sends the bird you know where. Summer is coming on and the grass will be taller so that should cushion any serious crashing when I get my nerves and head synced. Thanks again for your comment and keep your channel rolling!!!!! Enjoy!
Hi Willie, Best wishes for 2016 ! I allready flyed the V977 more then 150 batterys(520mAh), and once had to change a rotorblade, that's all. I ordered a new KDS450SV RTF(old model) in beginnening December. 1 jan 2016 I flew it for the first time, it was good weather.(it is a very beautiful heli..all metal parts)and I can fly it !!! I am so happy to learn on the V977, because it can handle crashes, my 450 don't like 'm....able.Happy to learn the figures from the start. The V977 I flew 2 times outside. With the idle up and high rates. Very quick...but easy to correct. Tryed inverted many times, but allways a hard crash (on grass), but this year I will manage that too...i hope.
+the dave experience Congrats on the V977. For it's size it truly is an easy to fly micro CP heli. Good luck with the 450SV because it requires a bit more flying skills but your V977 will help you to advance at a good rate. Enjoy!
+Hive5000 They do because they are more twitchy than the larger ones, but to crash a micro heli is much better than splashing a $500-1200 heli in the ground.
Thank you Mr. Hill, great video. I went with the mcpx BL for my 1st cp. (1st flight was 3 Seconds not good ) Even with over a year on sim's the mcpx bl was not a good one for me to start cp on. I got a 4ch WLtoys 911 that I have never crashed. I think I'm going to get a V977. Thank you and please keep the videos coming.
+G Bro Thanks for viewing this video and making a comment. I think you will find the V977 (especially in 6G mode) docile enough to get you on your way to mastering CP flying. If I'm not mistaken you might also be able to use your V911 TX thereby allowing you to buy the BNF version of the V977 and save a little money. Contact Banggood and see if it will work on both helis. I hope you subscribe to the channel so you can view my monthly upload(s) for beginners. Enjoy!
After mastering my Blade 120sr and flying countless micro quadcopters I felt the need to upgrade to a CP heli, I already bought a used Blade SR (which is punishing with even the slightest crash) and a Turnigy FBL100 which also has been difficult to learn on as the tail motor occasionally has a random blowout (which was DOA on arrival so I replaced it and may be due to my novice soldering skills). The FBL100 when it worked well did make me appreciate a heli without a flybar, in the SR and 120sr I always felt like it was fighting against me. Now I needed a different trainer, I was flipping between this and a Skyartec WASP100 Nano CP x brushless and I settled on the v977. I also ordered the red canopy and blades as well as a set of 5 550 mah batteries. I've been researching both products and I believe your review is what pushed me towards buying the V977 and believe it would be a much better fit for me.
+Jeffrey Phillips my blade 120 sr ended up in the garbage:( it broke too much, and I was sick of replacing stuff, I had a lot of fun with it... The reason: I was flying in the snow, and I fried the main board, it was fun while it lasted, I got it to fly real good towards the end when it broke... I went and bought a used main board vs new, and that fell flat on its ass, so I just scrapped it.. Fun heli, but it breaks too much
+spencer avery Spencer, sorry to hear about the death of your 120SR. I find it hard to believe that yours bit the bullet from crashes. Mine is still in like new condition, but I never really had any serious crashes with it while I was learning how to get my start in heli flying. I did the majority of my flying inside of a gym so maybe that had something to do with it's longevity. Have you improved to the point that you are flying collective pitch?
+Willie Hill, Jr yeah, lol, it flew kinda funny, I had to iron the kinks out, it would sometimes just sprial out of control, I broke finally the stock set of blades, I broke 2 tail booms, and the landing gear was made of a really junk plastic that broke a lot, like when I would crash, it would kink then break eventually due to stress marks and then it broke.... It was a fun heli for a while, the parkzone night vapor is my favorite, and it still works... I am getting a proboat recoil now:)
+spencer avery Yeah, I own the regular vapor and save it for the winter time so that I can fly in the gym when it's too cold to go outside. So, you're into boats too, huh?
Willie Hill, Jr lol, I am starting into rc boats, I have conquered land and air now water! The night vapor is just so fun even tho it is so slow, I like to fly it at night and its almost like spiritual, and relaxing lol...I have a FT flyer dollar tree foam board plane that I made from scratch and souped up with a crazy motor and a 7x6 prop aswell, the thing screamed, I think it will still fly...
Being a novice myself I was struggling with for beginners in the title I do a lot of 3 and 4 channel and am getting better. And was beginning to leap into a walkera When I remembered this video I came back to it. I see the connection now It is the PERFECT Priced CP helicopter for those "BEGINNING" with 6 channel Cp Heli. Sorry we get Mentally blinded by opinion we fail to see. Stepping into CP Helicopters I see where this is a great trainer for beginners. Plus like all of the WL Line it is a durable little heli. Great Video
The trend for cheap devices and toys is they fall to pieces and go in the bin with in days - the v977 is 180 degrees from this trend. It is as tough as nails. It is a perfectly engineered cp and 3d trainer. Absolutely brilliant! Simple, practical and convenient - and a ton of fun! It can also carry a Mobius 808 hd camera, quite effortlessly, for quality aerial video.
Ralph, you hit the nail on the head with all your comments (no pun intended) and what I also like about it is that the design is so simple. There is nothing complicated about the mechanics on it and the motor delivers steady power for any type flying. Like you I'm sold on this little bird.
Thanks for recommending this amazing little heli. I was whipping around with it from day 1. It is so small and durable! Flips are easy, rolls not so easy but fun. The hardest thing for me is seeing the little spud so I often loose orientation and dump it in the grass. I am really excited about getting into cp helis not!
I have been using the Esky lama. I recently got back into flying a few weeks ago after more than a year hiatus. This was mostly because of frustration due to a bad 4in1 controller. The reason I was considering the V977 is, I didn't want to end up bored. However I found a post on Helifreak that explains the characteristics of collective pitch. That made me realize I may not be ready. I can hover, fly squares, circles and I'm working on figure 8s. I feel that given my budget, I will go for either the V911 or V 912. If you have another suggestion by all means let me know. Thanks for taking the time to respond, and please keep the excellent videos coming.Scott
+Scott Saunders Scott, between the two helis I suggest the V911 because you can buy extra batteries whereas the V912 has a built in battery which will only allow you one flight per charge. Make sure you by at least 5X batteries because the flight time goes quickly when you're learning.
+Scott Saunders No time on the SRX200 although I researched about buying but I chose the Nano CPX. I think HH overprices its products although I own a few of their models.
Hey Willie I just bought a v977 after watching your video and a few others but it's my first 6ch heli an it's great but was wondering if you do any videos on fixing them since I'm new to the heli not to sure on a few things thanks
+Barry Smith Barry, I haven't down a video on repairing helis, but I can answer any questions you might have. As far as the V977 goes, the frequent problem is that if you crash the main gear is designed to pop off. Then you may end up losing the bearing that's location above it. Feel free to email or call me with your repair questions. 954-599-0300 cell
at 6:50 that can be fixed to make it move nice and smooth probably... on the NCPX (DX4e) i got the standard controller and had same problem which made it hard to precisely control the height... took apart controller and there is a sharp bent metal tab that rubs against plastic gear, straighten out metal and it'll be nice and smooth...
Thanks for your input. What I found (by accident) is somehow I got the controller in Mode 1 and with the throttle on the right stick it made the same noise but the right stick was nice and smooth as you say. I think it's programmed into the controller to give you throttle increments like that. With my D7s TX I'm used to a smoother stick although it's still not bad controlling the heli with the controller.
Got my WLtoys V977 in the mail today! Love that little thing, and I am trying to keep from smacking it into the walls, and other stuff in my room, as it is too cold, and wet outside to fly. However, with only one battery for now, 5 more should be here by the end of the week, I only have managed to get in 6 - 10 minute flights in between each 1.25 hour battery charge. Oh, I had a lot of fun trying to figure out the "Hover Debugging" feature of that V966 transmitter, and think I have finally got it after re-reading that section in the manual at least a dozen times. LOL
For the first 3-4 flights, I kept my V977 skittering across the floor, and trying to remember that when trimming 'yaw' on my TX, it is where I want the NOSE to go, and NOT the tail. LOL The last three flights tonight, were all about HOVERING, and then flying forwards, and backwards with the nose pointing away from me. Your beginner videos are a big help, and I also remembered to reinforce the inside of that little plastic fuselage with Scotch 8959-RD shipping tape. Which really stiffened up that little guy's nose quite a bit.
+Daniel Berry Daniel, this is a reply to both of your comments. I'm glad you've found that my video on the V977 was factual & truthful when it came to my review points. It's a great micro CP heli & unfortunately I've smack mine up on some lawn furniture and now I need to order a replacement. So, watch out for furniture!!! Enjoy!
+Willie Hill, Jr LOL, I am amazed at how fast this thing is, and how much thrust is generated by those little blades. I got over confident last night, when I was getting ready to put that order of 5 - 530mAh batteries to good use, and did not think about the greater amount of potential energy that would be generated with heavier batteries requiring more head speed. Yep, you guessed it, I launched that little V977 across the room from a five foot hover, after getting myself into a pilot induced oscillation, and hurled that V977, like a missile, right into my large heavy wood shutters. It is a good thing I ducked out of the way in time too, or that tiny flying juice mixer would have smacked me right in the face. In fact, the impact was so great, that it knocked the little brass pinion gear off the motor shaft, cracked a blade almost all the way from leading to trailing edge, and popped the rotor shaft up a bit, so I had to reseat it. I pulled the main gear to reseat the brass pinion, but lost the bearing, so no flying for me either (-for now).
After tallying a [potential] $80 dollar parts order for the V977 last night; I wanted to buy several extra items at once, because I hate waiting a month to get stuff from China, I decided to put that money towards an Align TREX 450 Plus DFC, and an RC Aerodyne Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil fuselage instead. I will initially fly the bare frame helicopter with training gear for awhile, but not until I have it successfully skittering up and down my long driveway first. Just want to let you know, that if it wasn't for me stumbling across your videos, then none of this would have probably happened! LOL
+Daniel Berry Daniel, your incident with the heli pulling off a strafing run towards your head and self-destructing against the shutters is...well, hilarious! Not that I haven't been there myself... Now once you get your 450 you DO NOT want to be in the ducking position! Good luck with your plans.
I personally would pick the Wl toys V911 pro for beginners, some like me started off coaxial 3 channel, but I will agree with you it is the best collective pitch helicopter you can buy. I got nasty habits with the 3 channels, thanks to Syma. but I probably would have quit too so 50/50.
small srews at ends of horizntal bar of my v977 (,which are keeping main blades connected to horizontal bar) were getting lose ,again and again. used a very small amount of blue threadlocker ,only on initial three threads of screws and secured these with care by keeping threadlocker away from main blades bearings .
Thanks for the great video and the comparison between the Nano CPX and the V977. This could not have come along at a better time. I recently bought a used Nano CPX and was downright ASTOUNDED at how cheaply it was made. Since it had other issues (damaged during shipping to me) I am in the process of returning it and going to get a V997. Amazon has a both a BNF and RTF unit. But from what I gather, the BNF won't work with my DX6i. The difference is about $25 so it's no big deal. I'll get the RTF. All I really care about is being able to practice with a CP Heli.
+Dominic Greco Dominic, thanks for your comments. If you want to save a few bucks on the V977 here's a link where you can do that: us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-WLtoys-V977-Power-Star-X1-6CH-2_4G-Flybarless-RC-Helicopter-wp-Usa-914247.html Also, make sure that you order the extra batteries too: us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-5-x-V930-V977-RC-Heli-Parts-3_7V-520mAh-30C-Upgraded-Battery-wp-Usa-923558.html The BNF version will not work with the DX6i but the RTF comes with a quality TX that works with other WLToys helis. Enjoy!
+Willie Hill, Jr I took delivery of this bad boy about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I was surprised how EASY it was for me to fly. I kept thinking to myself, "I thought Collective Pitch was supposed to be hard?" Other than being more responsive to the controls it wasn't much different from other fixed pitch copters I've flown. I practiced with it inside for a bit and then on a calm day took it outside. I was incredibly IMPRESSED with the power and speed of this diminutive copter!!! I was absolutely blown away at the agility and speed this displayed. It was like a ROCKET!! I did order the spare parts kit and I can see where that will eventually come in handy. But (or course) somehow the lower bearing popped out when it landed hard outside and it's lost for good in the grass (believe me, I looked). So I ordered a couple more bearings and will most likely see about using LocTite on the gear hub to hold it in place on the shaft (because I don't see any other method it's fastened other than friction) I can see this little heli is going to be one of my favorites. Thanks again for the "push"!
+Dominic Greco Dominic, I'm glad you took my advice on this heli. Like you I know that it's the perfect CP trainer. The bearing popping out is designed to save damaging the shaft, but can be a problem in that you NEVER can find it because it's so tiny. I also don't know if LocTite is the answer, but maybe it'll work. Stay in touch and keep on advancing until you're ready for that 450 size bird.
Timer with Velcro. Genius! That's a great to thanks! I started with the blade nano s2 and live it. I would recommend that as a 1st helli. I bought the wl toys v950. It is garbage lol. It came with a broken front servo. 1st flight it went 2 get off the ground them stuffed it right back down because of the servo. When that happened it bent the main rotor shaft and broke the bolts in it. What a pain. I think I will spend the extra money next time and buy the blade products. Thanks for your videos!
Brett, thanks for leaving a comment. I checked out the V950 and just looking at that heli I would think that the quality is not there because of the plastic parts. Blades are better and Align models are even better www.amainhobbies.com/align/b147. I hope you become a subscriber if you aren't already. Enjoy!
Great video Willie! I like how u do ur videos. U have a unique style n it's great. I learned on a Blade MSR n MCPx. Now I'm learning quads. I have mostly Blade helis but my 450 is an Align. Still learning that one lol.
Dave, thanks for ALL of your comments. Now that I'm retired from my studio photography I get to dabble in video work which I've always aspired but never had the time. I love my Blade helis too but this bird is "sweet" and I wouldn't mind having two of 'em! Enjoy!
You have now made me order some Nano's dear Willie. I will start to upload some of my very 'Bambi on ice' flying, but I have gotten better but do not fly 3D yet. Only on my Sim, where I fly inverted and so well. I fly better the bigger the Chopper I found, and the Nitros are fantastic to fly, really amazing. But ofc expensive to crash IRL + really dangerous to fly if your not even intermediate, which is why I use a LOT of time in my Sim(Phoenix, but there are better even I find this Sim great). Let me tell you I started buying small kids Choppers for indoor flight, then I did buy 2 Blade 230 S and the Sim Phoenix, and crashed them both and used 1 for parts to the other. Then I got a Razor 500 SE High-performance 3D which I did try to Hover but landed it not well and blew my gear, so I got it fixed as new again, but I realized I not yet can fly it safe enough(Be sure I will make some videos of my progress), so I go and look at it each day, standing on a loudspeaker in my living room and looks awesome and like a giant Moskito :D Then after I started to look your nano flight videos I got a Blade 230 S V2 and I fly it amazing already, NO prob on lift-off or landing more and I feel much in control. BUT, I just ordered a V977, and a Blade Night 230 S V2 Nightfly(Absolutely fun and full 3D, it's a 230 S V2 with light, and it's awesome), and a Blade 70 and the Nano S2 and mCP S RTF. I know, a bit overkill, but the price on these small once are not so much I think. Anyway, they are ordered :) I can't wait to show you when I start my videos and I can take advice from you if you like to give some seeing me fly. I have followed you since you started and is amazed over how much you progressed and how fast. Have a great time
Michael, sorry for the delayed reply. I would love to see some of your flying videos. I'm a sports flyer and don't do 3D flying except basic stuff on the sim. I see that you have invested in a lot of helis of different sizes which indicates that you are definitely a heli junkie. I have two Blade 450X & one Align 450 aside from a few smaller birds which are getting fewer flight times now that I'm immersed into flying my DJI Phantom and capturing video. So, let me know if there's anything I can help you and I'll be glad to do so. Enjoy!
@@PAW6110 Thank you Sir Willie. It's okay you not responce right away, because I guess you are a busy man, and thats good, so No prob 😁 I have gotten all the models I told you, but it got expensive for I did buy the New SPEKTRUM DX9, and wow what a upgrade in far better security. And it respond AWESOME, and it talk to me when Use it, make a strong shake and high-pitch beeps, so impossible to make a rotor mistanke. As you know, even the small once are NO TOY, and one need practise on Sim also, as you say. I do not fly full 3D yet. Your fly better than me for sure, Sir Willie 😁. But when I love some, I buy the best as it will help me get better fast, I feel that. I do not yet dare fly my crazy fast Razor 500 SE even I fly well even inverted on the Sim, but IRL is No room for mistakes. A Chopper that size, can and has killed People, by flying into themselves and even bypassing People. I love the way you do it responcible and great even you not yet fly 3D. I gotta tell you, getting the SPEKTRUM DX9 changed the game a lot. And that it tell you telemetri, and battery time and it's just, WOW. So is the small Nano S2. Full 3D and I changed batteri and it gave more power and over 7 min flight Time. AMAZING so much this little Nano is sooooe good to better my skills faster. I really apreciate that I started follow you. And I"m SO happy you answer questions and your even happy for me and correctly see I am very serious, but still feel I lack a lot before I can do real 3D. It takes just as long as to learn to fly a real Chopper. Even longer. I love this world and I look forward to you can see my videos. Have a Nice day, Willie
@@PAW6110 Thank you, Sir. You are very kind. I love flying buddies and wished we did not live so far apart. Not many fly in my Country, but we have a few clubs with trainers in. Most of my friends do not like this, they are fascinated at the most :) I use the Phoenix Fly-Sim but feel the camera angle is bad and I see other sims in here there seem better than mine but I still use it and learn a lot from it. I can fly inverted in the sim but I never did dare IRL. But now I have a Transmitter (Spektrum DX9) with a wireless trainer in, so I just need a trainer, haha. I do not even dare flip my Blade 230 S to inverted even I can on the sim, or even my Razor 500 SE. 1 mistake and it's dangerous. Last a private part. I sit in a wheelchair, so I really need to be careful when I fly. When I started, I did fly a Drone(inside without GPS), right into y face and I was a millimeter from losing my eye as the 1 propeller had sliced right through my eyelid 6 places and even scratched my outer eye. I took away a great lesson from that and I realized how serious this has to be taken. Safety, safety, and safety. I was mistaken it for a kids toy. I would never go anywhere and fly my Razor 500 alone. And as a rule, I do not fly alone if it can be helped. But that is if they are bigger than the Blade 230 S, but even that is dangerous and I have also been close to fly this into my head because I did fly with the sun in my eyes, and lost orientation. Learning, learning :) Enough for now. Forgive me I write much, I'm hmmmm... Motivated :D Thank you for your answers :)
I really enjoyed my v977 (sold it this past summer). It was very stable in 6G (I'd say as stable as my v911). It also held up well to meetings with the grass. I found it to be a handful in 3G and I needed to be outside in this mode. If you keep in in 6G and never want to make adjustments to the throttle and pitch, it is one of the best choices. If you plan to use it as a transition for FP to CP and then to learning 3D.......I'd move the 977 to the bottom of the list. In 3G it is NOT for the new CP pilot. In 3G all of the leveling 6G provides, is removed and you have to pilot the small, quick and very maneuverable bird. Unless some has uncovered a way.....you can not change the stock pitch and throttle curves with the stock Tx.
Willie, Are you aware of a link where I can a copy of the manual for the v977. I can"t find a direct link to WlToys. and I purchased the BNF model and transmitter from different sellers and they did not come with a manual. If by chance you put something together that would help with the operations of the v977 that would be great. I know you talked in your video that the manual was pretty bad.
I have the ncpx and love it, but was considering the v977 to assist me in my blade 450 3D training. You sold me. Also, did I see a certificate from the FAA on the wall behind you? Looks like the ones we used to get from the wings program.
Hey, thanks for the compliment and don't waste a day ordering your V977 from the USA warehouse. Yes, I have a private pilots license and participated in the FAA wings program. Since moving to GA I haven't flown the real ones (rentals to costly and I gave up on my bi-annual preparations). Enjoy!
Hi Willie, I have ordered this helicopter based on your review only to find out a week later that it will not bind to a Spektrum transmitter and requires the wl toys dedicated tx so needs to be ordered as the complete package including transmitter. My order has already been shipped so I can't cancel it now, please make sure you include this sort of information in future reviews so as to prevent other viewers making similar expensive mistakes. regards
canalboating Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry for the fact that you did not notice in the video that the model shown included the transmitter and was not the BNF version. All is not lost though because if you purchase the TX (the price comes out to the same as the RTF version) and order any other WLtoys products like the V931 & etc. the TX will work on these models as well.
Willie Hill, Jr Hi Willie, thanks for the response, for what it's worth I did notice the transmitter in the video, but as a newcomer to the hobby I didn't know that ready to fly and the term BNF meant different things, your video title does state for beginners which is how I found it and I felt it worth making the point so that beginners like myself understand what's involved, thanks for the info on the tx and other models, happy flying :)
canalboating I want you to know that I take my viewers comments seriously. if you review the description for the video you will see that I've added some information so that no other beginner has misunderstands. Thanks again for your comments.
Hey Willie. I did not buy so many Choppers as I planned, in the shop I changed my mind, I did choose 2 Nanos,( the 977 and the Nano S2, which flies amazingly well too) and the transmitter SPEKTRUM DX9, and the nice Alu Box with some nice rubber-Foam for it, and all fitting to the transmitter and some extra space. I really got another control with this transmitter than with the SPEKTRUM DXe and the Centra (programmable) I own. I absolutely love the SPEKTRUM DX9 even it still freaks me out a bit it speaks to me, even in the 9 most used languages, hahaha. :D SO, suddenly I sit with the learning of programming this transmitter there can work for mainly all there fly, drive and sail :) Regarding the new the 977 and my 6CH Nano S2, I absolutely loved it so much. And I had a friend visiting me, and he wanted to try but told me he only ever had flown 4 Ch Choppers, which is for kids, OR learning basics, so I was not much for letting him try, with my new DX9 and programmed to the 977 and the Nano S2 on the Memory and he did fly that also, and it had, like all my Choppers, a tendency to tilt to the right at take-off, and you had to counter steer only till it did lift off and it was okay. But my friend picked it right up the first time and held in Hoover and executed some simple commands I told him, with both. I was amazed. A guy there never had flown a 6CH chopper did fly it inside. Just absolutely amazing. All starting with me following you :) I'm so glad I did buy this 977. Thank you, Willis, peace and lot of love from Denmark
Michael, you have an excellent transmitter in the new DX9. I doubt if in the future you will need to upgrade to anything better. I have the DX6 and it covers much of what I need in flying. You are correct in that the voice commands are what makes the Spektrum TXs a bargain besides the fact that the menus are very easy to navigate. I'm glad that you are having great success with the V977. It's really a nice micro heli. Okay, stay in touch and I wish you continued success in the hobby. Enjoy!
@@PAW6110 Thank you, Willie :) More will follow. I will as told earlier, make my own uploads of my progression... Also, I was not all sure about this transmitter, but you say good for it so I will continue with that one. Have a nice flying time and keep the great uploads flowing :D
Thanks for the great video, I loved this bird enough to get a second one and it's so tough I have yet to repair anything. (Reinforced body pins with epoxy before starting out)... What would you recommend for a next step in a larger affordable bird? Say something about 2-3 times as large, is there an affordable option besides megadollar TREXs? Thanks in advance!
For the initial cost this thing looks hard to beat! And its brushless?! I preordered the new Nano CPS, for use during the winter months, but I feel Blade messed up by not going brushless.
+J Maxey J, thanks for your comment. I've thoroughly enjoyed learning how to fly CP with my Nano CPX although currently it is a static display model because HH cannot fix some issues that it has because I believe the CPS was in the works and they didn't want to continue repairing the older model. The V977 filled the gap with hands down.
The part of the instructions for the V977 that I was looking for was binding tx to rc. After reading that part of the instruction, I more confessed than before. Do you have your own set of written instruction on binding tx to rc that one could understand.
Sherman Joseph Binding instructions: 1) Make sure the two switches on the top of the TX are in the back position, 2) Lower the throttle stick to the bottom, 3) Plug in the RX, and 4) Turn on the TX until the RX light goes solid. Also, make sure the TX is Mode 2 and not Mode 1. Test the right sticks to see if the heli's cyclic responses are working. You should be bound.
Can you link the video review for this helicopter that you mentioned in this video and I'm kinda confused about how to use the throttle and pitch up and down when in 3d mode can you suggest a video to explain that too?
+Dustin Mallett Dustin, answers to you questions are listed in the video's description, so please go back to my channel and check out the video again. Let me know if you need further help. Also, don't forget to subscribe because I usually post 1-2 new beginner videos per month.
Eli Iluz Eli, if you've never flown a heli before you might want to start with the V911 then move up to either the V977 or V931 (which has the same frame and components as the V977). I'm currently considering adding the V931 to my models because of its scale look and because it flies exactly like the V977. Good luck in your start.
Hi Willie,Great video! Just wondering if I'm coming from a 4 ch coaxial, would I be able fly this in 6g? Should I go to a 4 ch FP like the v911?Thanks,Scott
+Scott Saunders Scott, I'm a little hesitant to say go with the V977 because I don't know how good your flying skills are and you didn't mention which model coaxial heli you've trained on. If you'll answer those two questions for me I'll be able to suggest which heli you might invest in. Both are great helis, but you'll need to be a little sharp when flying the V977.
Thanks for the review. So, what radios are these BNF compatible with? Does this use Spektrum (blade), or Walkera (Devo) receiver technology? I also wonder if the new Blade Nano CP S would be another good contender. It is the exact same price for anyone that already has a Blade (DSMx) style transmitter, and appears to be more widely available in USA.
+Sum Dood (cam94z28) Sum, thanks for your comment and for viewing my channel. The RTF heli comes with a very nice TX that can be used with other WLToys products. I know Spektrum TXs will not work with the BNF heli & you would have to Google Walkera TXs to see if they work. Yes, the Nano would be a contender, and because I have flown both models I'm familiar with how each of them handle. Note: I learned how to fly CP on the original Nano which did not have SAFE technology, so if you think you'd rather invest in that feature rather than learning how to fly without" training wheels" I would buy the V977. To me the 6G mode on the V977 will suffice for getting you up to speed. Some of the features I like about the V977 is that it seems more stable in outdoor air than the Nano, longer flight times, cheaper price for batteries, & it survives crashes well. I loved my Nano (when I had it), but currently I'm sticking with the V977.
+Willie Hill, Jr I already have the Spektrum DX6i, and a Walkera Devo 7 transmitter, so I'd like to avoid having a 3rd full-size transmitter, especially if limited to one vehicle. Will it work on other WL toys models? I started with a 120SR. Aside from the toilet bowl effect it developed late in life, it was a very good Heli. I wonder if there's a way to program the DX6i to use the SAFE function. Based on parts availability, I think I will start with the nano. I literally have 4 hobby shops within 10 miles that carry the entire Blade line.
I have a micro fp heli (Blade msr) and want go to next step. I'm thinking about getting a v912 and/or v977. I'd like to try cp but I also like to try faster speed outdoors. also you compare v977 to nano cpx but what about nano cps? The cps has different gyro modes as well, so you can choose to have an easy hover or 3D flight. Also it has the bail-out button which will automatically return to hover, if you fail a 3D maneuver. I planned to get the cps instead of v977 before I watched this video.
Thanks for your comment. The best that I can tell you is that you can get two V977 for the price of one Nano CPS, the V977 has 6-axis/3-axis 3D modes, & comes with a nice TX. Of course, it doesn't have a panic button like the Nano CPS, but the goal of transitioning to a CP heli is to learn how to fly one first, then you can move onto 3D flying. Trust me you'll have more than enough challenge flying in 6-axis mode whether it's the Nano or V977. Another nice feature about the V977 is that you can get cheaper/higher capacity batteries compared to the Nano. If you do buy the V977 make sure to buy extra main rotor gear & bearings. They have a tendency to getting lost during heavy crashes. I hope this helps. Enjoy!
Willie nice video , just wanna add a little more to your experience , after only two mods this chopper will be tottaly different taking its power and stabilty level way up first will be using the main blades of the WL v931 it´s a tri-blade chopper but you will only be using 2 blades on the 977 this will bring the stability and pitch pump way more. Second will be putting a SUT tail motor both of this items you could purchase from BangGood.com . Trust me when you do get tired of the performance go for it it will make the v977 10x times better in every way. And just so you know this is coming from a guy that loves blades products also i have the 180cfx , 450x , Nano , QX200 Have a nice day , cheers from Brazil.
That sounds like an innovative mod! I will definitely give that a try- but what is a SUT tail motor? Oh- OK- no worries - I just found it. SUT. Cheers from Australia - still the Southern Hemisphere! :)
Willie, can you tell me how to get my V977 to lift off without it wanting to fly all over the place as soon as it gets off the ground? I have done the calibration. I'm using Mode 2, basically all the settings for beginners. I will start the chopper up to the point of almost lifting off then do some adjustments on the roll, yaw etc, but by the time I get done with all this my battery is almost dead. I've been trying the hover debugging but I don't know if you're suppose to start that after you're already in the air, or before you lift off. Also, is it common for the main gear to pop off when the blades hit something....I'm guessing so. I just keep popping it back on and it works every time. One thing I can say about the V977 is that it is durable...I keep crashing it and I pop the gear back on and it flies. I consider myself pretty dexterous and mechanically inclined, but I'm having one heck of a time mastering this chopper. I just can't seem to get this thing to take off smoothly, and I'm sure it's probably something simple that I'm not catching. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ? PLEASE HELP !!! Gary W.
Gary, have you flown helis before? Which ones? Do you have a flight sim (RF7 or Phoenix? Is this UR first CP heli? Once you answer these for me I should be able to help you. The gear is designed to pop off so you don't strip the teeth. However, I highly advice that you order extra main gear and bearings because eventually that will get lost, especially the bearing which is very tiny. I can give you the links if you need them. For future replies use my email address: hillpics1@aol.com Thanks.
Willie, great review and a big bang for your buck heli. I just received mine about a week ago, and after only a few light crashes, the main gear started coming off. There is no screw holding it on. The last crash I lost the main gear and the lower bearing. Do you have any fix too keep the main gear on?
+jcl311 The main gear is meant to fall off, it absorbs the impact energy. You can add a bit of super glue to the inside of the main gear and let it dry, then put it back on. This snugs it up a bit. The best way is to just keep buying main gears. they are a consumable item on this heli. Much better IMO than head parts!
+Dan Turlik Dan, you are correct in that the main gear & bearing loses are a, well, pain in the neck. I like the idea of the super glue, but I would try or use a little Shoe Goo because it's pliable and can be undone if needed. It does take a little longer to dry though.
+jcl311 Yeah, the main bearing isn't supposed to do that for sure. But really, after having an MCPX and Nano CPX, I really enjoy the main gear falling off instead of breaking $10 parts.
Thank you the quick answear and your introduction. After I seen your video I bought one. Soon it has to be arrive. I have only one think what I do not understand properly how the hower debugging works or how must have to use. Thank you a lot. :)
Dear Mr. Willie, Today I have recieved my V977. As you told the manual is a bulls.... but I'am know now what is the hover debugging and how works. That is an manula calibration for the heli's reciever. The TX calibrate itshelf, you just have to move the stick full around and afther that it is know there own midle points. What you have to set in the heli's reciever too. The process is the next: - Set the TX all trims to the mid point. (it is very important) - Get the canopy down to see the reciever's led. - Press the Hover Debugging Button 3 times - Take off the heli from the ground to the hover - Use the trims to set up the perfect hover. If the heli is slideing too fast you can landing awoid the crash and set the trims. After that fly again and set again if it is nessesary. - When you found the point where you don't have to force the little bird to any direction just sightly keep the hovering you just have to store the new real 0 point sets in the reciever memory with the next seteps. - Landing to the ground and pull the throttle stick to the buttom (0%). - Press the Hover Debugging Button once. - You have to check the reciever's led (blinking). It's meaning the TX sending the new middle point datas to the reciever and you are done. (If the rotor is spinning and the throttle stick is not on buttom position the reciever does not save any data what the TX send when you press the Hover Debugging Button once) What you earn with it, when you are in the air next time in normal flying mode your trims are the middle positions and your bird hover nice. You just have to use the trims, when you change the center of gravity for example with a camera or a heavier battery what you use just sometimes or after a crash. I hope it was understudable because the my englis is not so pervect and this is not my mother tongue. Special thanks for you about your video, it was very helpful for me before I decided what heli is what I want to buy. This is a very good heli for that who want to learn how the heils flys and goes towards for the 3D. It has a smart electronics what unfortunately the manual does not cover proberly. Would you make a new video about it? I think it is a very helpful function and I did not found any other in english yet. I hope we will keep in touch! Best regards Tamas
Dear Mr. Willie, I need your experience with the V977. I have already flight with mine around 10 times, but there is something what I do not understand. When I hover and left the rudder, after a few secounds the tail start to turn slowly, usualy to right and it is not setable by trim or hover debugging settings. And when I recharged the battery and start to fly again the settings after the binding a little bit change, the heli does not fly like before. These are normal or foulty? Sorry if my questions are silly, I am novice pilot after simulator training and I don't know this heli perfectly yet.
Hi Willie, My XK K110 could not lift up. I think it needs more positive pitch. I use Futaba 6K TX. Do you know how to set up on TX to make it more positive pitch?
Hi there Willie, great video, with nice clear camera work, kudos to you! I'm planning to get either one of these, or an XK offering, although the scale AS350 & EC145s are very tempting, though maybe more suited for a second CP heli, as there is more to damage on them. P.S. I was wondering, are the orange blades on the Blade Nano homemade replacements or something? I've never seen a any Nano with blades like that!
Thanks for your comment and I hope you become a subscriber to the channel. Here's a link to the blades you're looking for: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=orange+nano+blades&_sacat=0
mine has issue with man blades.Screws of horizontal bar get lose and main blades come out again and again. any suggestion to solve this problem? thanks
Go to your local hobby shop and get some blue (medium) thread lock. DO NOT use more than a SPECK of this solution on the tip of the threads or you may not be able to remove the screw in the future. www.hobbytown.com/z42-blue-thread-locker-0.20oz-by-pacer-technology-paapt42/p4409
I bet it was written by the same guy that wrote the V911 manual. Of course if I wrote one in Chinese i'm sure it wouldn't be perfect. What kind of flight times do you get with the 977 Willy? If it is as good as the v911 I had it will be very crash forgiving. Tough as nails
+Derredmax I usually fly @5 minutes so that I don't smoke my batteries, but you can fly longer. I have 6-7 batteries so I get in plenty of flying time at the 5 minutes flight time.
Awesome vid. You’re the reason for my purchase. The new Nano remains on the shelf until I feel confident w/ the 977 BUT -> “The manual is a little hard to comprehend” ?? That’s the understatement of the year! Where can I find decent instructions? Thanks Willie
Jimmy, thanks for checking out my channel & leaving a comment. I'm glad the video was of help & I promise that you'll fall in love with this heli. Good luck with transitioning to CP flying. Enjoy & subscribe & click the notification ico if you haven't already
Do you wever have trouble with tail blow outs with it having a brushless main, and brushed tail ? I just bought the Hisky hcp 100s, and HCP 60, and I like them both alot moe than my nano CPX, and my friends MCPX BL..
+steve sparrow Steve, the Nano doesn't have a brushless main motor & I believe the Hisky heli do. I can't remember having tail blow outs because I basically use the heli for CP training and not for 3D practice so I could transition to the Blade 450X.
Right, The nano has brushed motors. I was wondering if the V977 has tail blow out. The Hisky HCP 100s is a double brushless out runner. Get one, and put a Spektrum Sat ellite in it, you will like it.
Kenny, thanks for the tip. I'm a MotionRC fan and didn't know the heli existed. Pricey is not bad for a GPS bird. I've sideline my fleet of 450s as I've drifted to flying other type models.
@@PAW6110 ,ok no problem, I just learned about it myself a few weeks ago an it's the flywing 450lv2 an 200 not the 259,my bad, right I thought print first, but when I thought about how much tech is involved to prevent from crashing to help new pilot an intermediate ones,it's a deal, also if you don't the controller you can get your own unless you already have one an bind it to your heli an trim it out how you want an get more out of the heli an have more control for a better flight experience so I'm told,so far the controller looks nice that comes with it,I'm not tech savi si IL do me just fine until I Learn how to program my own
hello. I have a simulator on my pc, but can I use/connect this transmitter to my pc with a cable? I dont see any ports on the transmitter itself in order to be able to hook up a cable and connect transmitter to pc
I have RF7, but I should clarify that I have not purchased the heli yet. I will soon, so I was just wondering about the Transmitter if it has that ability
+MinimaLinsitCt The TX is proprietary to WLToys models and is not designed to work with the two sims. I have a spare TX if you are interested in buying it that can be used with the software.
Ronald, thanks for you comment; I really appreciate it. I hope you become a subscriber to the channel as I usually upload one new video per month. Enjoy!
Hi Willie thanks a lot for your video. I am a beginner at CP - proficient in flying the v911. I'm tossing back and forth between the V977 the nano cpx mcpx? Would you recommend the v977 over these? Also how durable is the v977 when it crashes hard. Because I've heard some good things about the nano cpx's durability.Ive seen some durability tests too on the nano cpx. Couldn't find anything on the v977. Also is the v977 bnf version bindable with the dx6i? Thanks a lot :)
jakeboynz Thanks for your comment. V977 vs Nano/Mcpx: I love both helis because I've enjoyed the unique characteristics each has. I loved the challenge of flying the Nano because of its size and difficulty to stay on top of it quickness. Aside from replacing a tail boom & a canopy I can truly say that it's a tough little bird and basically because it is so light in weight. It's not a good machine outside in the wind however. Since I honed my CP skills on the Nano when it came to easily flying the V977 it was a given. If I knew what I now know about the two helis I probably would have chosen the V977 as my first CP helicopter for these reasons. The V977 has two modes built into its electronics and the 6G setting is the perfect mode to use for initial CP training. Once you're proficient handling the heli you can then switch to 3D mode and really experience CP flying. I also found the V977 to have a much better gyro and also the brushless motor runs circles around the Nano's brush motor. I've had one major crash with the V977 and the main gear popped off (it's designed to do that to minimize damage) and the lower bearing fell out. Both were found, replaced and the heli flew just fine. Also, the V977 handles the wind better than the Nano because it has a little weight going for itself. So which heli would I chose? The V977. I hope this helps.
Willie Hill, Jr Thanks a LOT for this. Just putting together what you've said & also the guys on rc groups. I will go with the v977. I like the 3g/6g option - fact that it handles wind better, cheaper parts & brushless. That's got to be a win over the nano. Cheers brother!! God Bless
jakeboynz You are so welcome. I send God's blessings to you too, brother! Speaking of God, you MUST check out the book "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. It will change your life!!!!!!!
Thanks brother!! I definitely will my friend thanks. I've heard of Randy Alcorn although haven't read any of his books yet. Right now I've started "Agents of the apocolypse" by David Jeremiah!! May his love shine upon you :)
jakeboynz My Life Group just finished studying Jeremiah's "Spiritual Warfare" which was my first reading of one of his books. He's very easy to follow and understand. Blessing to you too, brother.
Ian, I've given some thought to this and the only way this might work is with the Tactic Any Link adapter. I have one and will give it a try to see if it works. Stay tuned.
Ruudy Leek Ruudy, most serious pilots own a Spektrum, Futaba, or JR radio and because they are fully computerized it would be NICE to simply use one TX for all your flying models. However, because many overseas companies (China) produce their own low end products (toys) and want to corner a market, many of their products are only compatible with their proprietory RX/TX.
I agree with you, like you I have the Spektrum 7S TX, but for the price the TX that comes with this Heli is not that bad, if you compare it if you buy a Blade micro in this price range, you get a real toy TX. There are some WLtoy Heli's that have nice TX and you can bind them too the V977
Ruudy Leek Yeah, Ruudy, the WLToy TXs are very nice for their RTF products considering the low selling price. I recently (yesterday) received my purchase of the new Specktrum DX6 and it is truly a must buy product. At $160 bucks it's a steal and has more functionality than the DX7s hands down especially with the voice alerts and backlit screen as standard.
Tick Tock I did once, chickened out, hit the throttle hold and haven't tried it again. I'm great on the simulator but apprehensive during the real deal. Currently my heli is down after having to replace the swashplate, but now the heli won't lift off (I have no clue what the problem is). I'm thinking about buying another one so I don't have to deal with the issue.
Willie Hill, Jr Willie, we can trouble shoot the V977 problem.. 1) Test the main motor..Does the motor spin up? 2) Test the pitch on the blades with power off to the main motor. 3) Make sure Radio TX settings are correct 4) Make sure Radio TX batteries are good 5) Try another Helicopter battery 6) Check the battery charger circuit for correct voltage..
Tick Tock Thanks for the tips. I'm certain it's a pitch issue that occurred after replacing the swashplate and a broken linkage. The problem is that the new parts don't mess together well after replacing which is a known problem that is mentioned in discussions and forums.
Yes very nice machine, and parts are cheap, compared too the Blade products, and Banggood does not charge delivery costs. They have opened another outlet in Europe and delivery time is now 7 days if in stock. I have a lot of there products, and the service is excellent.
Ruudy Leek True, true, true!!!! There are outlet in Europe and USA, however (at the moment) you cannot order everything that's in the China inventory from these two warehouses.
Hi Willie, great video. Does the tail rotor hold well given it's got a brushed motor? Does the tail motor burn out after a few flights? If so is it hard to replace? Thanks
Harry, thanks for checking out this video. The tail rotor holds fairly well and unless you're slamming hard 3D stuff all the time there's a good chance the motor will eventually fail. No worries because it's easily changed. I'm not a 3D aficionado so my model is still working well. The biggest issue with the copter is that during severe crashes the main rotor gear is designed to pop off and you could misplace the bearing underneath. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=WLtoys+V977+Helicopter+Universal+Part+Tail+Motor+Set&_sacat=0 I hope this help. If you're not a subscriber welcome aboard to see future uploads. Enjoy!
hello willie i am flying v977 for last 5 months.now i m facing a problem. when i give it throttle (a little bit fast),it starts spinning in direction of main blades (tail rotor still running ),and in opposite direction when i release throttle. and if i use throttle gently, it remains OK . kindly help me in solving the issue. thanks.
This problem has nothing to do with the battery. If the heli is spinning in the direction of the main blades two issues could be the problem: 1) The tail blade is on backward, or 2) The tail motor is NOT spinning fast enough to counteract the rotation of the main rotors. Solution: Reverse the tail motor rotor blade, or replace the tail rotor motor. I think either one of these fixes might resolve your problem. BTW: Replacing the tail motor is very simple (I've done it myself).
Willie Hill, Jr thanks for valuable suggestions. I checked tail blade direction and also installed new tail motor. .i also tried heat sink for tail motor.i changed its computer board, but unfortunately these were fruitless. Problem still persists .
I have one still in the box. Why ? Because the manual might as well be written with invisible ink. Can you make a video on how to operate this thing please ?
Thanks for your comment & it's true the manual is a little rough in its translation. I have to ask you a couple of questions so that I'll know where you're coming from as far as flying helis. 1) Is this your first helicopter and/or you first collective pitch heli, and 2) have you spent time on a flight simulator? Get back to me, okay, and we'll go from there.
Willie Hill, Jr Hey Willie, thanks for your help with people on the v977. I have a question plz. How do you disconnect the battery to heli connection ? Its very hard to pull that connector apart. Is there a tool to make it easier ? I am a very new beginner but have been using simulation software and flying the v911 pretty much.
kippercat123 That happens quite often with new leads. There's two ways to go about it. 1) Add a little silicone spray on a toothpick and rub it against the sides of technology heli connector, 2) Keep connecting and disconnecting the two leads and eventually it will become easier. Do the last suggestion without sliding the battery in the tray so you have more leverage. I hope this helps
Hey willie, i really enjoy your videos. Im 14 and have already mastered real flight 6.5. I can do crazy tricks with the 450 or bigger class helicopters, but i have never touched a 6ch helicopter in real life. Is this a good choice, or should i go for something more advanced? Thank you so much in return. ;)
xXSlash4x4Xx John, thanks for your comment and it's great hearing how young you are and that you are enjoying the sport. If you are as good as you say (and I believe it), then this might be the perfect heli for you. However, don't overlook getting a good foundation in a fixed-pitch heli like the Blade 120SR or the V912. Check out these links and make a decision between the three helis: Blade 120 SR: www.horizonhobby.com/blade-120-sr-rtf-blh3100 V912: www.banggood.com/WLtoys-V912-4CH-RC-Helicopter-With-Gyro-RTF-with-Videography-Function-p-82901.html (order from US warehouse) V977 (cp): www.banggood.com/WLtoys-V977-Power-Star-X1-6CH-2_4G-Flybarless-RC-Helicopter-p-914247.html Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Stay in touch and happy learning and flying! Enjoy!
Wow, thank you so much for the quick respond ;). I also have another question. Do you prefer this or the v988? If you can, can you review the 988? Thank you so much in advance ;)
xXSlash4x4Xx I've reviewed the V988 and if you buy the V977 you are getting two helis in one. The V977 has the same 6-axis features as the V988, however by pressing a button (when you're ready) you can switch into 3D CP flying. So, for an extra $30 bucks the V977 is a better deal & better heli. I hope this helps.
Ok cool thank you so much ;). It helped alot and i really enjoy your videos! Keep em coming! Oh and 1 more thing. Do you have any tips for me being my age and the fact that i have already done the simulator? I just wanna be ready so when i do purchase my v977 i know what to expect/do.
xXSlash4x4Xx The best advice that I can give you is to be patient while learning and practice a particular exercise until you have mastered it. Heli flying is very difficult but extremely enjoyable. If you email me (hillpics1@bellsouth.net) I will send you a basic flight school curriculum that you can use on the sim as with your real helicopter. Once you do purchase a real heli your flying skills will advance quicker by being consistent in flying each day or practicing on the sim. Also I'm certain you have already found that there is a wealth of information on TH-cam and through a Google search that will help you. And don't be afraid to ask questions of the person who owns the channel on TH-cam.
help!!! my v911 has started hovering horribly. it hovers in circles that continue to get larger until it's completely out of control. it isn't circling on axis it's like I'm slamming the sticks and causing it to aucillate. any suggestions???
Richard Addison did you have a crash in the main gear popped off? If so make sure that you put it back on the right way and also make sure that the bearing did not pop out.
Catalino, it's my preference after flying several micro CP helis because of quality, performance, price, & parts availability. I hope this helps and I hope you become a subscriber to view my next videos that I will be uploading this month. Enjoy!
+Benny2980 Benny, this is a CP (collective pitch helicopter). If you have not flown helis before then you need to start with a fixed pitch heli before moving on to this type. Here's a model you can start with, but make sure you buy at least 5X batteries so you'll have enough flying time to practice: us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-WLtoys-V911-2_4GHz-4CH-Gyro-Remote-Control-RC-Helicopter-Mode-2-New-Plug-Version-wp-Usa-36779.html
Hello, I want to ask you a question I want to buy the Helicopter V 977 Because I bought in V 950 and did not throw away or 8 minutes did not obey the commands of the remote control now I want to know that he is going through the customs I do not know how much it will cost to come to GREECE ? can you tell me something about it? you paid for customs duty there in the USA for this ??? Thanks bro greetings from GREECE !!!

I got the v977 and had my first tries in 6-axis mode. I crashed a few times softly but then i noticed the heli doesnt create lift anymore. instead the pitch was negative in 6-axis but non 3D mode (the red light was blinking but the icon on the LCD showed the heli up- right). The only way i can fly now is by changing the pitch. I toggled the throttle switch, then trimmed throttle and then toggled off again (What is the toggle switch good for beside that?). In 3D mode the engine automatically goes full power and throttle stick only changes pitch. But i noticed in non-3D the pitch also changes with throttle. rpm and pitch both increase. Anyway i dont know how to trim the pitch correctly. now it lifts extremley fast and i cant find the throttle position for hovering. The smallest input i can give dramatically changes lift... what pitch angle should i have and how to change the angel?
I've experienced the no lift issue and discovered two things could be the problem. 1) The main gear was put on incorrectly (upside down) if it flew off, and motor pinion & main gear or not meshing. As Maceyee mentioned pitch is controlled by throttle trim. You want to have a throttle curve of 0-100 for a CP micro heli. I hope this helps.
I watch a lot of your vids and find them very helpful. I've been wanting to go both cp and brushless for my next heli. I have stepped up to the blade msrx, skipping the flybar helis , however I don't have a indoor place to fly so it's a handful and difficult to learn with. Thinking to go with something the size of the sr120 so it would be less effected by light wind. Now blade makes a brushless and shaft driven tail heli, can't think of what they call it but it's fairly new and around $250 or so. It's still small enough to keep crash cost low. I'm not shure weather to go for a cp heli to deal with light wind better or does the sr120 do well even though it's fixed pitch? My msrx is just crazy! The throttle has to be played with so much sometimes it hinders your control. With the constant head speed of a cp, that would not be effected, yes? I'd be thankful for any input you have, thanks! 👍🏻
+morris4069 Morris, (if that's your name) here's my email address so that we can communicate easier (hillpics1@aol.com). Also, tell me what state you live in. I want to make sure that I give you the best suggestion based on where you're going to be learning how to fly. I will also answer your questions once I hear from you. I'm looking forward to helping you make a good decision.
+Willie Hill, Jr Yes and thank you. Is my thinking correct on the cp heli being more in control because of the constant head speed? The blade 130 was the one I was looking at with the shaft drive tail rotor. I need to get the trainer program and get good with that, maybe Christmas if I'm good! I think for now I just need a place to fly and some more batteries.
+morris4069 All model helicopters perform as expected whether they are co-axial/fixed-pitch/CP. It's just that each has a specific flying purpose. For instance the first two helis mentioned are for beginners and sports flying whereas a CP heli is purchased with the intent of learning and performing aerobatic maneuvers. Having a constant head speed keeps a CP heli's motor from bogging down when maximum thrust is needed & it also allows inverted flight because of pitch control. Blade 130: First of all this model is discontinued, and second if you want to have nightmares over a model helicopter this one will provide all the headaches you need. It is a mechanical bomb that will blow up in your face. I've own one for about a month & every time I flew it it required repairing for the next session (the tail rotor is a design flaw that will never work properly). I agree that you should tell Santa you want a flight simulator for Christmas, and affirm that you should keep practicing with the heli you own. Happy Thanksgiving!
+Willie Hill, Jr Wow thanks for the heads up on the blade 130!! At my hobby shop they have one in the case, it looks like a cool heli. I think I'm going for the trainer, I've been good, the wife just might get it for me.
I am happy to think you share the same respect and admiration for the wild creatures of this planet. I have great affection for those kangaroos and consider my self most fortunate to have the opportunity to admire them from such a close proximity. Kangaroos are very shy, timid creatures - although the big alpha males will some times attack people in threatening situations. Many times I have cancelled a planned late afternoon rc heli flight because they are lounging around out side my gate, and they look so relaxed and contented, I am reluctant to disturb them. Generally they are curious of the helicopters - even much larger ones - but it is true if the heli gets too close they become concerned and move away. I am as equally concerned for the emotional well being of these magnificent creatures as I am for your self and others who may have concern for humans abusing the animals natural state of relaxed contentment, for their own amusement. To this end I will provide a further video, in due course, from a ground based camera, demonstrating the kangaroos calm and curious response to helicopters flying around them. Over the years they have grown to trust me to the point I can walk with in feet of them - provided I do not look at them or show primary interest in them which may indicate predatory intent. They are curious and seem to think the heli are giant dragonflies. They can become very tame and affectionate to humans who feed them - I prefer to leave them wild as such practices compromise their natural state and also make them vulnerable to the mindless among us. PS; my beloved little v977 has disappeared in some very long grass and it rained heavily last night - I am not optimistic of recovering it, as a functioning unit, The v977 is such a pleasant, relaxing, hassle free helicopter to fly - I will have to buy another. Thank you for your concern and interest.
how about durability? i have seen the blade nano take a beating, and i have not done 3d yet except on the phoenix sim, so i want something that can handle crashes
Thanks for your comment. Durability is not a practical expectation when flying r/c helis (too many moving & mechanical parts). And the micro helis have really small parts, too. Therefore, you'll be surprised how little a crash can demolish the bird or how severe a crash will result in zero damage. Durability all depends on the cost of repair parts. So, here's my experience with both the V977 & the Nano: The Nano is far lighter than the V977 so you would expect it to (maybe) handle crashes better, however on my first flight with my Nano the heli hit a wall, fell to the floor and the tail boom snapped. The most common repair for either heli will be replacing the swashplate & main rotor gear. The V977 minimizes this issue by popping off during severe crashes which is a great feature that minimizes a lot of damage to the heli. But, have spare gears and bearings on hand because they can get lost in grass. Overall I liked the V977 because it flew much better outside because of its weight and larger size. I hope this helps. Now, if you're going to be doing 3D stuff then the durability of either bird depends on your skills, and that's a story for another day. Good luck!
+kenmtb Let me ask you a few questions? 1) Do you plan on learning or flying 3D maneuvers? 2) Is this your first CP heli & are you using it as a trainer? 3) Do you have any heli flying experience? 4) Is money no object to you? Get back to me on the above & I'll give you my opinion.
+Willie Hill, Jr I am very comfortable with my blade 200srx in mode 2. I though I was doing well with the 450 cp helis on my sim but when I fly my 200sr in advanced mode I feel nervous as heck. Right now I would be happy learning some rolls and a few controlled flips but no hard core stuff. I can do $300 on a new heli. I am planning on using your wobbly hovering technique to learn better control.
+kenmtb Hey, sorry for the late reply, but I've been under the gun to produce two videos for Internet vendors. Although the sim has the false security of knowing that crashes are as easy as reset, expect a little nervousness when you fly your 200sr. Heck, I get rubbery knees every time I fly my larger helis because they cost big bucks, are difficult to repair, and you can easily crash one in a nano second. So, the fear factor is: NORMAL! Stay with it!!!
Master Squider I believe it will. I have two different WLtoys helis and both use the same TX. I would contact Banngood tech support to make certain before you make a purchase.
the xk k110 is an improved clone of the v977. the k110 is slightly longer with a bigger tail motor and a different board. the TX is also better quality and uses the same protocol as futaba. enjoy!
The Wk birds are nice ! My buddy has one that he uses in the winter for indoors and the think flys better then my Blade helis do lol .. i was so bummed out , blade micros suck ! .
Hey, thanks for the comment and for checking out my channel. I too have put Blade helis on the shelf although I still fly my two 450Xs. Take care and I hope you subscribe to the channel. Enjoy!
Tomer, thanks for you comment & question. You're stepping up to the next level of heli training (collective pitch) and the answer is "no" it's not easy. But... This heli (for the price) will help you advance. The 6G mode is smooth & docile enough for beginners like you, but the secret to fly a CP heli is to take your time in advancing your skills by: 1) Using a flight sim, 2) Practice at least 15 min. as often as you can, & 3) Fly basic maneuvers constantly (hovering, turns, figure 8s, etc.), and 4) Back off if you're having a bad day when controlling the heii isn't happening. All you will do is end up destroying the heli. BTW: Buy extra parts become you're going to need them & it will take weeks to get them from China. I hope this helps. Here's a link that helped me when I started flying helis: www.rchelicopterfun.com/how-to-fly-rc-helicopters.html
Willie Hill, Jr yes I did sub the channel , been lookin at another blade heli its the 270 bnf it seem to be good from what I've seen , I'm just not a big fan on the micros from blade , I Feel T-Rex did a better job on there micro help ..
Willie,
Completely agree with your assessment on this heli. It is a great one for sure!
-6g mode is perfect for beginner CP pilots
-Super tough, takes crashes as well as the Nano - the main gear fuse is a great concept
-Cheap replacement parts
-Easy to service - well laid out components
-Brushless (main) power
-Once you get past the toy looks ,the transmitter is actually ok!
-Last but certainly not least, awesome flying dynamics in 3g mode, it flies like a much larger heli, not twichy like a HCP100
+Dan Turlik Dan, thanks for your insightful comments and thanks for viewing my channel. Enjoy!
BTW: Check out this video of mine to get an idea of how to advance quickly in your CP training: th-cam.com/video/kOKd3mHhhZM/w-d-xo.html
Enjoy!
James, thanks for adding your comment & advice. Enjoy!
+Scott Saunders Thanks and stay in touch. Let me know how well you are advancing in your flying.
Excellent video! I was looking at the Nano but will definately go for 977 based on your input. Thanks for posting!
Mark, you're welcome & I hope you become a subscriber. Make sure you order 1-2 extra main gears. Enjoy!
Enjoy!
used blue threadlocker and now i m enjoying my v977 without any problem.thanks.
Thanks for your comment. Exactly where are U using the threadlocker so that other subscriber/visitors can understand what problem Ur solving?
Good job on the video Mr. Hill. I appreciate the time and effort you put into making it for us.
Mike Mike, thanks for your complimentary words and I'm working on several new vids, so stay subscribed. Enjoy!
Boy is he thrilled to be here
Well, I'm been flying it off and on for a week now, it's a nice little heli I really love it so far, still waiting on my extra batteries though.
Hi Willie,
Best wishes for 2016 !
Enjoy!
+Hive5000 They do because they are more twitchy than the larger ones, but to crash a micro heli is much better than splashing a $500-1200 heli in the ground.
thanks for the great videos Mr. Hill i just ordered this!
Thank you Mr. Hill, great video. I went with the mcpx BL for my 1st cp. (1st flight was 3 Seconds not good )
Even with over a year on sim's the mcpx bl was not a good one for me to start cp on.
The night vapor is just so fun even tho it is so slow, I like to fly it at night and its almost like spiritual, and relaxing lol...I have a FT flyer dollar tree foam board plane that I made from scratch and souped up with a crazy motor and a 7x6 prop aswell, the thing screamed, I think it will still fly...
way to go Willie, the v977 is fun to fly and it fly's fast.
True, true, true! Thanks for sounding off.
Great Video
Thanks for checking out my channel and leaving a comment. I've found the heli to be rock solid for learning to fly CP. Enjoy!
+kenmtb I'm glad that you are having success with this heli. Just flew my yesterday, so I'm still having fun with it too.
Willie,
Do you have and stick time on the SRX200?
+Scott Saunders No time on the SRX200 although I researched about buying but I chose the Nano CPX. I think HH overprices its products although I own a few of their models.
That's a kool trick with a timmer on you receiver the flywing models beep on helis when time to land
Convenient & works great.
Great video. You are so detailed and informative. This sounds promising too.
Daryl, for the compliment on this video and I hope it has given you enough info for you to make a purchasing decision.
Thanks for the great information. What crash parts/ upgrades would you recommend?
Ok. I've never had that problem, but maybe someone else has & this well help solve the problem.. Thanks.
If you want to save a few bucks on the V977 here's a link where you can do that: us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-WLtoys-V977-Power-Star-X1-6CH-2_4G-Flybarless-RC-Helicopter-wp-Usa-914247.html
Also, make sure that you order the extra batteries too: us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-5-x-V930-V977-RC-Heli-Parts-3_7V-520mAh-30C-Upgraded-Battery-wp-Usa-923558.html
The BNF version will not work with the DX6i but the RTF comes with a quality TX that works with other WLToys helis.
Enjoy!
+Willie Hill, Jr
I took delivery of this bad boy about 2 1/2 weeks ago.
So I ordered a couple more bearings and will most likely see about using LocTite on the gear hub to hold it in place on the shaft (because I don't see any other method it's fastened other than friction)
I can see this little heli is going to be one of my favorites.
Enjoy!
@@PAW6110 I am. Ty!
Hello, little rectification, WL Toys V977 also has a tail motor brushless greet
Jacek, I've been on both the China & USA sites and I have never seen this part. Can you send me a link?
Great video Willie! I like how u do ur videos. U have a unique style n it's great. I learned on a Blade MSR n MCPx. Now I'm learning quads. I have mostly Blade helis but my 450 is an Align. Still learning that one lol.
Dave, thanks for ALL of your comments. Now that I'm retired from my studio photography I get to dabble in video work which I've always aspired but never had the time. I love my Blade helis too but this bird is "sweet" and I wouldn't mind having two of 'em! Enjoy!
Willie Hill, Jr You can never have too many toys!
*****
Only if your wife lets you!
Willie Hill, Jr Which explains why mine is always mad at me lol.
I am ordering one of these today. Thanks for great comparison.
scott jamieson Be sure to order extra main gears and bearings.
Will do plus batteries.
You prefer the V977 over the V913 BL for a beginner correct?
Beginners should start with a co-axial heli rather than a CP (collective pitch) bird because the learning curve is too steep.
It's okay you not responce right away, because I guess you are a busy man, and thats good, so No prob 😁
I have gotten all the models I told you, but it got expensive for I did buy the New SPEKTRUM DX9, and wow what a upgrade in far better security.
+VD2021 Thanks for your comment and notes from your personal experiences. Most arguably the heli is a winner in our opinion. Enjoy!
Willie,
Are you aware of a link where I can a copy of the manual for the v977. I can"t find a direct link to WlToys. and I purchased the BNF model and transmitter from different sellers and they did not come with a manual. If by chance you put something together that would help with the operations of the v977 that would be great. I know you talked in your video that the manual was pretty bad.
Sherman Joseph Sherman, check out this link: www.image-tmart.com/imgs/PDF/14005707-Wltoys-V977.pdf
SO, suddenly I sit with the learning of programming this transmitter there can work for mainly all there fly, drive and sail :) Regarding the new the 977 and my 6CH Nano S2, I absolutely loved it so much.
Hi Willie. You mentioned that there’s a video with an in depth review of the V977. Where can I find that? Thanks
I saw an excellent video the year that I posted my video, I searched for it but couldn't find it. Sorry.
I have to try my hand at one of these too!
+PintoBlades Flew mine today for 17 minutes.
Thank you so much for the help. I am not sure who wrote the instructions for the V977, but it is very bad.
Sherman Joseph Right-O!!! I mention that in my video too!
Great informative video, thanks!

Great video Love it!
I am debating between V977 and V931 or even the WLtoys V911 Pro
~ I'm new at this, it's going to be my first helicopter ~
And just so you know this is coming from a guy that loves blades products also i have the 180cfx , 450x , Nano , QX200
Have a nice day , cheers from Brazil.
That sounds like an innovative mod! I will definitely give that a try- but what is a SUT tail motor? Oh- OK- no worries - I just found it. SUT.
Cheers from Australia - still the Southern Hemisphere! :)
Thanks Willie. Great informative video!
gumhead Hey, you're welcome. Don't forget to subscribe because I have several new beginner videos that I will be uploading soon. Enjoy!
Which ones? Do you have a flight
sim (RF7 or Phoenix? Is this UR first CP heli? Once you answer these
for me I should be able to help you.
The gear is designed to pop off so you don't strip the teeth. However, I highly advice that you order extra main gear and bearings because eventually that will get lost, especially the bearing which is very tiny. I can give you the links if you need them.
For future replies use my email address: hillpics1@aol.com
Thanks.
+Dan Turlik I can't believe this heli was designed that way. How about the lower bearing, it that designed to fall off too?
+jcl311 Yeah, the main bearing isn't supposed to do that for sure. But really, after having an MCPX and Nano CPX, I really enjoy the main gear falling off instead of breaking $10 parts.
Dear Mr. Willie,
Have you any problem with tail motor yet? Do you propose a tail motor heat sinks? Or it is not necessary?
I have not had any tail motor issues and a sink is not necessary.
Thank you the quick answear and your introduction. After I seen your video I bought one. Soon it has to be arrive. I have only one think what I do not understand properly how the hower debugging works or how must have to use. Thank you a lot. :)
+J.P. Saliven J.P., I've read that instructions a thousand times and can't figure it out either.
Dear Mr. Willie,
Today I have recieved my V977. As you told the manual is a bulls.... but I'am know now what is the hover debugging and how works. That is an manula calibration for the heli's reciever. The TX calibrate itshelf, you just have to move the stick full around and afther that it is know there own midle points. What you have to set in the heli's reciever too. The process is the next:
- Set the TX all trims to the mid point. (it is very important)
- Get the canopy down to see the reciever's led.
- Press the Hover Debugging Button 3 times
- Take off the heli from the ground to the hover
- Use the trims to set up the perfect hover.
(If the rotor is spinning and the throttle stick is not on buttom position the reciever does not save any data what the TX send when you press the Hover Debugging Button once)
What you earn with it, when you are in the air next time in normal flying mode your trims are the middle positions and your bird hover nice.
Best regards
Tamas
Dear Mr. Willie,
I need your experience with the V977.
Here's a link to the blades you're looking for: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=orange+nano+blades&_sacat=0
hey Willie what would you say is a better choice for learning flips, the v977 or v950? thanks great video
magnum force I'd go for the 950 myself.
took one week to deliver through the US shipping for me.
mine has issue with man blades.Screws of horizontal bar get lose and main blades come out again and again. any suggestion to solve this problem?
Willie Hill, Jr thank you, i will try it.
I bet it was written by the same guy that wrote the V911 manual. Of course if I wrote one in Chinese i'm sure it wouldn't be perfect. What kind of flight times do you get with the 977
Willy? If it is as good as the v911 I had it will be very crash forgiving. Tough as nails
+Derredmax I usually fly @5 minutes so that I don't smoke my batteries, but you can fly longer. I have 6-7 batteries so I get in plenty of flying time at the 5 minutes flight time.
Thank you sir
+steve sparrow Steve, thanks for the info. I've checked into your suggestions. Thanks!
YW.
there is a small screw on each servo of v977 heli. what is its function? thanks
briekhnaa My guess is to attach the servo to the frame.
Bro,check out flywing 450lv2 or the flying 250 ,both are great with gps hold 3-D beginner friendly
What flight simulator do you have on your pc? RF7 or Phoenix?
I have RF7, but I should clarify that I have not purchased the heli yet. I will soon, so I was just wondering about the Transmitter if it has that ability
+MinimaLinsitCt The TX is proprietary to WLToys models and is not designed to work with the two sims. I have a spare TX if you are interested in buying it that can be used with the software.
thanks man i found it really helpfull
Hey, Tom, you're welcome. This heli is so easy to fly and work with.
great!! Excited to get it tks!!
Super informative. Nice to see an honest review. And not just one because a company threw a bunch of free stuff at any person doing tbe review. Thanks
Ronald, thanks for you comment; I really appreciate it. I hope you become a subscriber to the channel as I usually upload one new video per month. Enjoy!
Just hit that subscribe button. Thanks again.
Do you think it would be possible to convert this to a spektrum receiver and transmitter setup?
Ian, I've given some thought to this and the only way this might work is with the Tactic Any Link adapter. I have one and will give it a try to see if it works. Stay tuned.
Ian O'Donnell I don't see why too change too the Spektrum TX, the supplied TX is for the price, very adequate, although not as nice as the Spektrum
Willie,
Have you tried inverted flying with your V977?
Tick Tock I did once, chickened out, hit the throttle hold and haven't tried it again. I'm great on the simulator but apprehensive during the real deal. Currently my heli is down after having to replace the swashplate, but now the heli won't lift off (I have no clue what the problem is). I'm thinking about buying another one so I don't have to deal with the issue.
Willie Hill, Jr
Willie, we can trouble shoot the V977 problem..
1) Test the main motor..Does the motor spin up?
2) Test the pitch on the blades with power off to the main motor.
3) Make sure Radio TX settings are correct
4) Make sure Radio TX batteries are good
5) Try another Helicopter battery
6) Check the battery charger circuit for correct voltage..
The biggest issue with the copter is that during severe crashes the main rotor gear is designed to pop off and you could misplace the bearing underneath.

hello willie
i am flying v977 for last 5 months.now i m facing a problem. when i give it throttle (a little bit fast),it starts spinning in direction of main blades (tail rotor still running ),and in opposite direction when i release throttle. and if i use throttle gently, it remains OK . kindly help me in solving the issue. thanks.
Sorry, for responding so late to your comment, but YT wouldn't let me reply sooner for some reason. Did you resolve your problem?
no,still i am facing same problem. i have tried new battery also, but the problem is still there.
Willie Hill, Jr That is great help Willie. Just like having a new girlfriend, you gotta break her in the first 100 miles !
Check out these links and make a decision between the three helis:
Blade 120 SR: www.horizonhobby.com/blade-120-sr-rtf-blh3100
V912: www.banggood.com/WLtoys-V912-4CH-RC-Helicopter-With-Gyro-RTF-with-Videography-Function-p-82901.html (order from US warehouse)
V977 (cp): www.banggood.com/WLtoys-V977-Power-Star-X1-6CH-2_4G-Flybarless-RC-Helicopter-p-914247.html
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
And don't be afraid to ask questions of the person who owns the channel on TH-cam.
can u post a link to the USA warehouse?
+Yule Owens us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-RC-Airplane-c-Usa-1855.html
HEY I WANT BUY SPARE PARTS MAIN ONLY! But its must using dollar?
help!!! my v911 has started hovering horribly. it hovers in circles that continue to get larger until it's completely out of control. it isn't circling on axis it's like I'm slamming the sticks and causing it to aucillate. any suggestions???
Richard Addison did you have a crash in the main gear popped off? If so make sure that you put it back on the right way and also make sure that the bearing did not pop out.
Check the tail rotor motor and blade too.
Willie Hill, Jr the main gear is new and snug. the blades are new. the rotor head, feathering shafts, bearings, and blade clips are all new.
the bearings are all fine as far as I can tell
brand new tail motor, upgraded carbon shaft, and blade
why V977 is the best?is it its performance? or it is just it is not a high performance like other small micro heli?
Catalino, it's my preference after flying several micro CP helis because of quality, performance, price, & parts availability. I hope this helps and I hope you become a subscriber to view my next videos that I will be uploading this month. Enjoy!
Is there any small helis with a brushless tail motor too?
+Benny2980 For starters here's one: www.banggood.com/Hisky-HCP100S-6CH-2_4Ghz-Brushless-Flybarless-RC-Helicopter-RTF-p-926255.html
+Willie Hill, Jr thanks. Are these hard to fly?this will be my first heli.
+Willie Hill, Jr ok thanks. I was looking at the v913 dual brushless too.
+Benny2980 Sure. Both helis would be fine to learn on. The V913 is a MUCH bigger heli of course.
Is this still a prime option for beginner indoor CP? Or in the last few years better technology has been released?
You most certainly can fly this micro heli indoors (just not in your living room, etc.) and the technology is excellent.

The smallest input i can give dramatically changes lift... what pitch angle should i have and how to change the angel?
sounds like you have the throttle trim set too high thats all, left stick trim vertical
Thanks for your comment. It's right on about the throttle trim.
I hope this helps.
thank you for your advice! i will try it
I watch a lot of your vids and find them very helpful.
+Willie Hill, Jr Did I reply to your comments? I'm not certain if I did.
+Willie Hill, Jr
Yes and thank you.

Wow thanks for the heads up on the blade 130!!
Good luck!
Do I have to use the 3.7v 450mah battery for the V977 or can I go to a higher mah battery?
Gary Wilcox Gary, go to Banggood.com and search on Goo 520mAh battery. U get 5x for $20. They do puff up over time.
Willie, are you meaning that it lasts 5 times longer on a full charge?
Gary Wilcox No. U get 5 per order.
Thanks, Willie...I've got them ordered
Would you recommend this heli over the new Blade 230s?
Thanks for the reply. Glad you are busy. I took your advice and ordered the W977. Cant wait to try it! Keep up the fine work :)
+kenmtb No problem. You'll love the heli. Stay in touch.
whre can I buy rc helis?
How much does that rc helicopter cost?
I wonder if this helicopter will work/bind with/to an XK controller?
Master Squider I believe it will. I have two different WLtoys helis and both use the same TX. I would contact Banngood tech support to make certain before you make a purchase.
Thank you sir.
Have you flown the xk k110? If so how would you compare this to the xk k110?
No, but the two helis are the same in one...just different vendors packaging it under their product name. Enjoy! Subscribe it this helps.
the xk k110 is an improved clone of the v977. the k110 is slightly longer with a bigger tail motor and a different board. the TX is also better quality and uses the same protocol as futaba.
Enjoy!
I fly them for years .had 5(!) v911 for indoors and today bought v977.
Willie, is it that easy to fly? I mean the v977...i flew only 4 channel till now. (As mentioned-v911)
Willie Hill, Jr yes I did sub the channel , been lookin at another blade heli its the 270 bnf it seem to be good from what I've seen , I'm just not a big fan on the micros from blade , I Feel T-Rex did a better job on there micro help ..
cool copter !
