I'm sold. I've got some competence with my Blade mSR, and with warmer weather the 120 SR I just picked up I'm looking forward to practicing outdoors to get up to speed, then the V977's clearly going to be the next step. Looks fantastic in the air, with the control responsiveness looking precise and crisp. Good review...thanks!
I remember mine. I was flying my v977 last and lost control and it went over our building and I couldn't find it anywhere. I would like another at some point but I love my Walkera Super CP and Master CP that is upgraded with Brushless motors and CNC swash-plate and blade grips. Im getting the Master CP carbon fiber and aluminum frame next. I had to open the WL Toys V977 Remote and solder the wires that connect to the stick controls, as they came disconnected after the first day. It was easy but for anyone who looses control of one of the sticks that is why. They didnt do a great job soldering the leads inside the Remote.
So far it has been solid. Been able to do my first few flips, rolls, and loops with it. Also inverted hovers are easy. Pretty tough too, crashed several times and have yet to break anything.
Tjrosenberry Ive managed to break 2 balls of the swash and crack 2 blades but these have all been due to blade strikes on solid obects probably with the throttle hold not engaged fast enough,. People have complained that they think there is a delay between the engine cutting out and you hitting throttle hold but i cant see it. I think its fairly durable as long as you dont smash it into hard stuff which is pretty much the same as any heli. My only concerns with mine is how out of trim it seems to be in 6g mode. to get a somewhat stable hover i need lots of back and right trim, yet its ok in 3 axis mode. ive leveled the wash adjusted for 0 pitch at midstick and made sure its zro at all rotations. flys great in 3 axis, but 6g needs lots of trim. It was like that out of the box, but i havnt really bothered with 6 axis mode much its not as much fun. 1 other thing i think is its either lacking power or it needs more positive pitch or maybe the pitch/throttle curves need tweaking (which you cant do as its done on the board). 1 thing i thought of though is that the feathering shaft may be bend, it probably is now after some crashes. alot of people are finding that they bend really easy but mine could have been bent out of the box which happens now and then. I love it though and for the money i dont think you can really get much better.
vedasticks I have used the throttle hold several times prior to going in for a crash. It is a reaction that is hard to learn, but once you do it will save your props and swash most of the time. I do agree with the positive pitch issue, can be solved by unhooking each out the ball links and turning them out 1-3 turns. Make sure it is on a level surface when you plug in the battery, if it is not it won't be stable in 6 axis mode. The gyro needs a few seconds to figure out what is flat, if your are holding it and moving it around it wont get a proper read and wont hover level(forgot to cover in my video). People complaining about things breaking shouldn't, as this is not a beginner or trainer helicopter. The V911 is a great starting place and the V977 is a great 2nd or 3rd. If you can fly 3 batteries through the V911 aggressively without crashing then you can consider stepping up to this. You seem to know this heli and know enough about it, so you should be fine. the HBL100 tail blade is supposed to help with tail blow out. I so far have had about 10-15 good crashes with it trying 3D close to the ground, one ball link and tail fin is all I've broken due to tall grass and the throttle hold. Happy landings.
Ive got vibration issues so thats probably causing the tail issues, after some more crashes the tail holds terrible particularly with tail pumps. Main gear out of round, and feathering shaft is probably bent = bad tail hold. Waiting on parts to sort it out.
Nice review. Not too many reviews of this product in English! Wouldnt mind seeing more videos of this heli. I just got it and works well so far despite taking a few hits. Had a bit of a vibration issue which could have been due to one if my minor crashes.
Hi there, just a quick question , does the transmitter (radio) come all ready to fly, or do I have to check and adjust everything. I see some vids on TH-cam about calibration and they do not make any sence. Cheers, have a great day
+Adolph Janssen Hey, this comes completely RTF. Some chose to make minor adjustments to really lock it in but it is not necessary. Be sure the heli is on a flat surface when to plug it in to ensure the gyro can calibrate.
Yeah I believe that would perform better than this for serious 3D, this will still do the basics which is great for me. Maybe they will release a brushless tail kit at some point for this. Also thanks for the compliment.
Tjrosenberry I think there is already a few working on this. sure i read it on the forum. theres also a 2s conversion aswell as i think the main motor can run on 2s. The only majour downfall ive found of the v977 is that even with deviation support you cant change the throttle/pitch curves though i think someone replaced the esc with a bl heli one.
I would not try it, there are plenty of larger quads that could do that. This is a very small helicopter, it may lift it but I believe it would over load the motors and battery.
How would you compare this helicopter to the blade nano cpx? I am thinking about getting my first cp helicopter, and I'm pretty sure this one is better for its price. I was just wondering how good it actually is compared to a way more expensive micro cp helicopter.
The blade nano cpx is a good started CP 3D heli, but it uses brushed motors in the tail and the main. This means they would burn out at some point and need replaced. I have crashed the V977 twice now, both in 3D mode at full throttle and no damage to it as of yet. From what I've been told the CPX isnt very tough as it is even smaller than the V977. Also the V977 is very stable and easy to fly, I have a flight video in my channel.
patrick sanderson For beginner 3D yes, it has a lot of power. But I haven't been able to do tick tocs or anything yet, just flips, rolls, and inverted hovering.
+Roman Reigns They're very stable helis, but smaller helis will always be more of a hand full compared to large helis. It also has the stable mode which makes it return to hover on it's own. Great for learning.
My had the exact same issue. Take the links of the swash plate balls and turn them clockwise once each. I disconnect one at a time so the swash doesn't move freely, that got me to lift off at about 50%.
Cracks me up how the box says infra red!!! lol! That would be a joke!! Thankfully that is wrong!!! Those Asians man!! Cracks me up!! Want a good laugh, try reading, and I did say try, any instructions that they try to translate into English, funny shit!
Canna Occult ....I know Chinglish manuals can be almost hilarious to decided,,,,, but you gotta give them props for even trying..... There are certainly not many people in the English speaking world who could write a manual in Chinese....
R7aptorzZ I don't think so, if anything they're being manufactured in the same plant with different badge placed on each one depending on where it will be sold. Reason I say that is that this heli has been out for almost 2 years now.
Dont be scared to flip it, it's really easy with this, and you are ready I see. Anyway, buy the Phoenix Flight Sim there is 100% realistic and you fly with your own controller, and if you can fly there you can go direct out and fly and do what you have worked on with the sim. Orientations and so. And no nerve, its free to crash. And you will find it's not your talent there lack, but your trust in your skills and nervous lvl. I have never flew other or bigger then a 230 Blade, when I only after 1 month on the sim, went directly out and made inverted flights and a good landing with a Goblin 700. Believe it or not. This program kick ass. Also, the bigger, the more easy to control but extremely dangerous in the hands of a idiot....

Thanks Glenn, It's a good heli. The self level is helpful when you're learning, just keep in mind most collective helis don't have that feature.

Great vid, informative and enjoyable! Cheers
Thank you David, appreciate it!
sweet rig ill be taking more of a look at it

Tjrosenberry good to know thanks man

Thanks Tom, sorry English is my only fluent langue. Hard to get decent flight video of this small heli but I might upload more in the future.
Vibration is usually caused by loose or unbalanced main blades. Check them for any irregularities.

Hi. Do you know if it binds to a FlySky fs t6 transmitter (like the v911)?
Btw, nice review.
+Dashz Don't believe so, the new transmitter uses a new protocol from the V911.
Nice review, I'm waiting for the new hisky 130 with brushless tail Motor and slightly longer tail than the v977, also 7.2 v battery, perfect for 3D

i have seen this carrying mobius camera. have u tried that? doesn't that effect the motor?

Video proof for Banggood.com faulty WLtoys V931
Any ideas I got the WLToys V930 SAME problem cut it be the transmitter? Thanks for answer
I meant hover De-Bugging in my other comment....How do I use it?...BTW, My V977 arrives here in a couple days...Your video is very helpful.
great vid dude, I ordered mine today, along with a v911, i have mastered syma 107g , thinking its time to move on,
+rs kyosho Nice, start with the v911 and once you find yourself board with it try the v977. It's an awesome heli.
rosenberry I wanted to buy a stable 6ch helicopter and I heard that the v977 is not so stable, can you tell me a stable and good 6 ch helicopter
+Roman Reigns They're very stable helis, but smaller helis will always be more of a hand full compared to large helis. It also has the stable mode which makes it return to hover on it's own. Great for learning.
my v977 out of the box it lifts up only at 70% throttle !! what could be wrong?
otherwise it's ok.

you can idjust linkage balls but dont go high my copter lift on %25 for me its ok it can fly more but better keep for 40% or 45%
But the CHOPPER IS SO COOL, I just need get it a place with honest people... Wow it look steady....
btw subscribed !
Still something in that motor that's not how they sound

isn't that a fake version of the Amewi Xtreme One ?
