Directed by Jon Favreau (“Chef,” “Iron Man,” “Elf”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Ok has anyone else noticed Idris Elba is in the exact same booth wearing the exact same clothes as he was in the Zootopia B-Roll. Do you think Disney just had Idris in the studio and said "Hey man while you're here why don't you do a voice for The Jungle Book?......You can be the bad guy this time". Wow, creating animation looks so hard when you see the work from behind the scenes. As an audience we get such an amazing product, without any flaws. Fantastic film. If you haven't watched it yet, go watch it! 👍

I grew up watching the 1967 film on VHS (which this film is a remake of). Kaa was creepy and sinister there. Here it's ScarJo talking into a mic with a faux sexy voice.
It's unbecoming of the character IMO and takes away what made Kaa so menacing originally. Favreau and Johansson bungled it hard.
+KubrickQuentin i think it works. villains that act nice and/or can lull you into a false sense of security are, in my opinion, scarier than the ones that are more obviously evil. i think you should wait for the movie before outright criticising it, though.

Man why is no-one talking about the kid who played Mowgli. That kid did a great job really speechless specially considering that it was his first time acting in a movie ALSO with no other actors and practically imagining everything
Also sorry but I don't understand ppl appreciating the voices more like it was about casting the famous voices than good ones. I love Scarlett a great actor but nooooo... For kaa?? That too a sexy voice over it was more like seducing Mowgli than hypnotizing him which makes it really disturbing as Mowgli is a kid...

The real heroes are the animators, wow you can see how much work they have to put into to make it look that good!

This was really fun, watching how the actors perform voices... especially Chris Walken vs. Bill Murray. I still loved the cartoon "Jungle Book" more than this recent version (amazing voices, too), but, best of all, the 1942 film with Sabu (no animal voices at all, as that film concentrated on the human story).
I did not realize how old Bill Murree has gotten until I saw this
