Great to see Brent doing his business in one of your videos again Gavin. Now we just need the true master of comedic timing and your one and only vlogging sidekick of all time fame...young Mr Gibbs back in a number of your new videos. Keep safe all of you.
A new superhero is born "The Photographer" who races to save his woman, he can leap a tall beer can in a single bound, faster than a sleeping sloth. The man of boka. I know I spelled it in correctly.
You two should be in more of your videos. Together, you are quite funny. I am a Newfoundlander, living away and appreciate the videos about my home province. You should visit in the winter for epic pictures and to see how cold it really gets. The shots of the harbor are absolutely beautiful.
Great tutorial! Great shots! You've got a nice bit of portrait photographer potential! 👍😄 ..got to spend 6 weeks last summer, all over Newfoundland. Quite amazing! I loved all the fishing villages, harbors, boats, gear, & ...🌧 Like another entire country, separate from Canada! Looking forward to your next video! Great mix of humor! 😅
And the REAL shenanigans (hummer) returns… Where the hell has BRENT been, oh, that’s right you moved away. THANK YOU! It felt good to laugh again at the good stuff!!! You look like you really enjoyed the shoot Gavin. The images are stupendous sir Cheers 🍻 I have been using Topaz for a while to repair old images my father took back in the early 1950s through the late 1960s… and have been blown away by the quality improvements ever since. Great software, you can’t go wrong. The new update is even better.
Glad you are enjoying our little piece of heaven. There are so many places here in Newfoundland that only locals know. We (my wife and I) are going to be offering multiday photography tours in Central Newfoundland starting next year!
I just love your photographs, and the sense of humor that goes along with them. I have to say, I have seen more than my fair share of sideways precipitation since moving to Newfoundland. It is so windy, nothing falls straight down, it's all sideways. I've stood at my window watching torrential rain blowing uphill. LOL You should also visit the Burin Peninsula, there are some really beautiful photo ops here too.
Wonderful video. The first image turned out really lovely. The view is like west cork but just built on a cliff side! I have played around with topaz a little bit and do like the results for sure! 👍 Cheers!
This is my first comment on your channel. I have been watching your videos for a couple of years now. Well here is the comment 😅 I really like your photo in the Battery area. The fog does add character and tells a story with moody feel to it.
another entertaining video Gavin, some great banter as usual, looked like hard work to try and get some images, but paid off in the end, love the blue hour harbour images brilliant, I didn't,t realise Amanda sounds like a fox when she screams, keep up the great work.
I couldn't wait to sit down and watch this tonight. Loved everything about the video. And you just sold me on the Topaz. I've been back and forth on getting it.
Great episode. The chemistry with Brent is awesome and the outtakes even better. The photo of the battery is superb as are the other ones you took from the Pier.
An interesting video. However, there were some amazing compositions right beside you with the blue fishing boat and the harbour as you were walking to the pier.
There are lots of cannons at the top of Signal Hill which were strategically placed to defend the harbour. The light that you could see over the top of that hill was probably coming from Quidi Vidi which is in that direction. I think that I was there at the same time as you as it was warm in the west but on the day that I left St. John's it was 1 degree. Had the same problem as you taking photos of that incredible coastline in less than ideal light. Yes I was dressed for the cold but even then it wasn't enough.
If your coming to NEWFOUNDLAND and your looking for great weather you want to come the last 2 weeks of july and forst 2 of August. Summer takes along time to get here due to the ocean but the winter takes along time to get here to. It only gets below -10c in st.johns for about 2 weeks in February other then that its -5c - -9c. Also in the warmer weather, mid june on, the fog "burns" off after the first couple morning hours
I absolutely loved this video, your photos were amazing I really loved them. I always look forward to seeing your videos, I think your sense of humour is so much like mine, as I also come from Yorkshire you make me laugh it is brilliant. See you next time Gavin, stay happy and smiling 😊😊
Well that was your best video for a while. Very interesting locations, content and information. Brent, sorry "Fabio", just added the icing to the cake. Two thirds of the dream team back together. Now you need to convince Uncle Grumpy to stop shooting the same three trees every week and also head east 🤫Love it.
Its called the Battery because I was set up with canons to protect the entrance to the harbour. Also there was a huge net set up that ran across the entrance below the water to catch UBoats from entering during WW2. There was actually one caught. During WW2, Newfoundland was a stopping ground for American Naval ships going overseas to fight in the war. They refuelled and supplied the ships there.
We received Stories Within Stories by Gavin Hardcastle a couple of days ago. We just quickly flipped through it and then I started reading it that night. Another fantastic book, and I'm only about 1/4 way through! Obviously, already the 2nd best book ever written! We did have a small sh*t fit when we saw that our book did indeed NOT have Amanda's signature in it. But quickly felt better when Amanda's signature Unicorn was carefully tucked inside. Perfect for a little book mark too 🦄 Another very well written book. Your personality shines in this too Gavin... I can hear you all over the pages.👌Pure talent along with an awesome sense of humor.😂 We did peak at the last page where we saw what was likely the very best image in the whole book. Page 120. That image by the Grumpton himself. Miss you guys running around together. We both wish you and Amanda the very best. Take care of each other 🤝 Us out in the sticks~ ~ain't it nice? 👌
I've been testing this version of TPAi, and I can fully understand. It's brilliant. Although everybody else has caught up with the denoising, and since version 3.1, TPAI has gotten worse, it's still holds proper value, if you just hold on to this version. I've been using LRc and ON1 Denoise 'till now. But it's a constant battle if you want the best at all times. Then you'll be ruined and sad, even if you got the best. Since the winner of photo enhancement switches place on the board every month. It's so simple just to keep LRc, and use TPAi to make the enhancements, post RAW processing. Gavin, you need to do more cityscapes, it's proper fun, and can be a great background as well as a foreground to a nature subject. :)
I was just up your way, on a cruise ship. Greenland, Newfound and Nova Scotia. So much fog and icebergs. Love to explore up that way but at 68 it’s probably not going to happen.
Hey Gavin, did you know that when you order a breakfast sandwich from timmies you can ask to have it made on an everything bagel instead of the biscuit! Life changing. Canadian living in New Zealand, missing timmies....

Great to see Brent doing his business in one of your videos again Gavin.

Newfoundland is an amazing place! Love the mix of comradery and humor! Amanda is the star of the show! Photography technicals are really good too!
Good chemistry again between you and Brent!
Fabian…😂😂 empowered too funny . Great clip as always 😂❤
Another episode of my favourite Sunday comedy show. Brilliant.
Nice to see Brent again, and interesting to see you take a break from landscapes. Fantastic as always and entertaining.
Hahaha, I'm positive that the lore of the Banshee came from fox screams at night. Awesome video by the way.
Just in time. Sauna, one beer and a new episode to watch
A new superhero is born "The Photographer" who races to save his woman, he can leap a tall beer can in a single bound, faster than a sleeping sloth. The man of boka. I know I spelled it in correctly.
You did and only a crushed beer can.
You two should be in more of your videos. Together, you are quite funny.
I am a Newfoundlander, living away and appreciate the videos about my home province.
You should visit in the winter for epic pictures and to see how cold it really gets.
The shots of the harbor are absolutely beautiful.
Brent + Gavin + Amanda = maximum outtakes guaranteed 🙂
Good to see Brent back 😊
Finally that bloody pano course is underway! Looking forward to it!
Brent is back! Yes!!
Ahh, springtime in Newfoundland--gray and a warm 46 F....
Great video Gavin, love Newfoundland...I think the world could learn a thing or two from the locals on the island, they are amazing
Good video! I travelled to Newfoundland for a photography vacation back in 2016...I was really impressed!
What lenses would you recommend if one was going on a Newfoundland photo vacation?
@@SteveKleinheiderThank you.
Brent is a guarantee of great fun. And the photos turned out to be very good!👍
Great video, Gavin. I forgot how much I loved St John’s and the surrounding area. Brought back wonderful memories.
Great tutorial! Great shots! You've got a nice bit of portrait photographer potential! 👍😄

Watching from Nova Scotia Canada 🦞

That shot of Brent was really great! 📸😎
Humidity was 100%, no shortage of fog. Should have booked a week later. This week is perfect also. Great videos
Glad you are enjoying our little piece of heaven. There are so many places here in Newfoundland that only locals know. We (my wife and I) are going to be offering multiday photography tours in Central Newfoundland starting next year!
I squealed when I saw Brent appear! So good to see you guys together again!
Oohh.
So much texture on that jetty, the pods and netting, beautiful

We have the Three Sisters Pub in Amsterdam but I haven’t discovered the sisters yet. 😊
Great to see Brent again 👍
You made the Battery look AMAZING!
These are some of the most beautiful images I have ever seen. Absolutely fantastic.

I have played around with topaz a little bit and do like the results for sure! 👍

The great thing about bad weather is that it tends to keep people away and out of your landscape shots
This is my first comment on your channel. I have been watching your videos for a couple of years now. Well here is the comment 😅
I really like your photo in the Battery area. The fog does add character and tells a story with moody feel to it.
That small hill is called Hang Man's Hill. And the bigger one is Signal Hill. First wireless signal from Marconi was received there.
When you took that first pano shot in front of Brent i laughed my ass almost off. Impeccable timing.
Great to see Brent again, missed the chemistry between you both.
Hi Brent! The images from the dock are terrific. Nice portrait for "not a portrait photographer".
Good to see Brent again, missed him. BTW, love the music you used at 2:00.
Top drawer, Folks!!!
I always learn with a smile on. Thanks Amanda... oh and U2 Gavin.
Brilliant show and awesome images from the pier !! again congratulations to Brent and Karen !!!
Actually, in Norway we have the Seven Sisters, mountains that is
Great to see the creeper peeper back in the mix ! That bokeh was delicious
Brent! What a fun video, missed the banter between you two.
Always thrilled to get an email that you uploaded a video. Now I got my wife to watch, she loves your videos also.
Brent 😍😍🔥
Enjoyed this one and it was great to see Brent again. It’s good to feel empowered Brent 😂, The quality of those night shots were outstanding 👌
Great video Gavin, Topaz is great, I love it, also loved the houses, thanx again. Colin Devon uk...
28:52 One thing I’ll never miss about Canada is Tim Hortons coffee. By the way, I really liked the “non-landscape” pics in this episode.
You are definitely in the minority not liking Tim Hortons coffee.
Yup, we even have a town called 3 Sisters in South Africa!

Brilliant video and I do love the laughter. Loved the harbour cityscape. I can see that on a wall.
Found a package on my front porch this morning. I bet there is a story here somewhere..... Great work
Please tell Amanda thank you for the Unicorn !!!
Love that shot of Brent! And I finally learned something useful! From this moment on, I shall no longer share my heated underwear.
depends who you're sharing it with ;)
@@fototripper And how they’re heated…
😅
Thanks Gavin, received my book. I may need to look at the photos while enjoying a TOBLERONE chocolate.
Excellent! and very entertaining too!!!

Love this stuff. Is 115 F, heat index today and am watching Gavin wearing his jacket and woolie hat... Wish I were there..
Great content, learning and humour, thank you all.
Thanks for your Videos Gavin :)
pretty funny - good pics
Beautiful cityscapes at the Battery !
Great to see Brent back on the scene! Great laughs - like the old days.... where is Grumpton, cameo appearance soon? Cheers Gav!
Who?
Also there is a 3 sister group of house close to signal hill. Cape spear is a great spot aswell, the eastern tip of north America

It's never enough in NL.
What a great episode Gavin. Just be sure to check around constantly for the creepy peeper named fibia. 😂
Another great vid - love the cityscape. Sounds like one heck of a fox..............:):)
So happy to see Brent again, great chemistry..maybe try do get Mr. Gibbs there as well....will definitely buy the course..greetings from Germany

What was Amanda doing to that poor fox?
@dw.in.michigan No, it was Amanda when she realised Gavin had "borrowed" her Hasselblad! 📷

The Battery would have been a great subject for one of those day/ night blend shots, I reckon.
a timelapse? yeah maybe but there was too much traffic and changing light.

No, no, no, no re video on Hasselblad. Love your boatdockscape shot; beauty!
if you ever drop down around botwood newfoundland, id love to show you around the bay area, great for pictures
Will warn ya tho, most people that come here don't leave, they end up buying a house and staying ahaha

25:42 got me, it was Michael Fox Jackson. It sure is scary to hear when in the dark hahahaha
Brent's "creeper peeper" - who the manufacturer? would love to have one of those on my next outdoor adventure. Great video - I'm lovin' the fog.
I recall it was an ancient Ebay purchase so it's most likely only available in boutique used stores.
Very enjoyable video 🙂
LOL..the mullet...talking of fish...have you kissed the Cod in StJohns?
