All the performances were good. Especially liev scheieber. I did love whatvthey did with deadpool at the time...i didnt know all of the details of deadpool when the movie came out so i was ignorant to the possibilities of the character. But i loved what i got so far and was expecting more of comic accurate deadpool in the sequal. Especially after end credits stinger. There was a lot in this flick that had the spirit of the animated series especiallybon how they changed some of the mutants history. This flick has gotten a bum wrap for too long. Do get me wrong it is not great. And not in the top of the xmen series. But still has some very good story telling.

There's a great motion comic narration of the comic where Wolverine becomes Weapon X. I highly recommend checking it out. The entire process from them Finding Logan, the admamantine process, and the subsequent "trials" makes the films procedure look tame.

I still thought it was a letdown. The flashbacks in X2, brief and choppy as they were, felt more intense. The shot of Wolverine screaming as he looks at his bloody claws was a way more impactful image than...honestly, anything in Origins. Origins showed a lot of potential in a lot of areas. It just sadly didn't live up to them.

The overfixation on Stryker in these movies is really bizarre considering that he's never been involved with Wolverine's origin and Weapon X in the comics. It was a fun change for X-Men 2 but after that it just felt overinsistent and none of the subsequent actors that played Stryker were nearly as memorable as Brian Cox.

    • @icedcapplord710
      @icedcapplord710 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

He's Stryker in name only. That goes for like, most of the movie versions of these characters outside sharing some very broad surface level traits with their comic counterparts. I'm pretty sure the movies never actually brought up his twisted religious beliefs even once outside some passing mentions in X2 when he's literally a commentary on far right televangelism and if anything was known for not openly practicing his terrorism in public because he never let it be known he was running the Purifiers, and his words as a preacher were disruptive enough as was. It's another reason why i just don't get the hype for X2 because it basically removes all the timely commentary from a story like God Loves, Man Kills that could've made a really good story, especially if the X-Men had to actually debate the ethics of mutants on TV instead of just beating him up like they did

This movie is a mix between 2 Wolverine comics. “Wolverine Origins” (the opening scene) & “Weapon X”. And I think, while not at all perfect, they blend them together well. Heck, Sabretooth has such an amazing origin in this.
Also, a lot of people forgot just how evil Deadpool was before he went through his redemption arc to become the antihero we know now. Before Cable, Domino, Wolverine, & Spider-Man inspired him to be a better person, he was arguably one of the more evil Marvel supervillains, with literally MILLIONS of men, women, & children’s deaths he’s responsible for (he was a herald for Galactus for a bit as well). And honestly, Ryan plays evil Deadpool pretty well

Wolverine debuted 50 years ago (Hulk, then X-Men) and his first-ever solo series began in the 1980s.
Throughout the comics' history, he's been a Marvel Legend in every form or fashion.
"The best there is at what he does which is not very nice".
15 years ago, the start of his trilogy would definitely further things in the comic-book movie craze and the X-Men universe on film.
Fox was developing solo films for Magneto & Mystique, but decided to stay on Wolvie's path in the universe.
Using core elements including from the mini-series,Wolverine:The Origin (2001-2002).
Casting of other characters and fan-favorites were actually good.
The storytelling is fair and the action is stupendous.
Hugh Jackman playing out Logan's struggle with being a man, the animal or the living weapon is really good.
This one is both loved and hated for it's direction, certain moments and not just by fans, it's filmmakers as well.
Yet of course, it was still a box office smash.
The tie-in video game from Activision, original and uncaged version is amazing.
There was 2 endings:"Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson (Weapon XI/D.P.) with his severed head and shushing..." and the other, rarely seen ending is 'Logan in Japan'..
Both moments were retconned in 2 future films.

Victor Creed has the same healing factor as James. He is immensely stronger and can see in the dark as well. The movie portrays Logan having a massive advantage on Victor once he gets the Adamantium, but in actuality Victor has mercilessly beaten Logan with his Adamantium many many times. Victor always finds Logan on his birthday for the express purpose of fighting him and usually is the victor with the fight being one of the most brutal engagements you can see in Marvel comics.
