"No Springs! Hee hee hee heh heh !" I saw Jim Tyer's work on an industrial film for Jam Handy between the late 30s-early 40s, what was the name of the short?
Tyer is of course a creative person, but to be honest, I think his animacia is twitchy and uncluttered. I more like Seymour Neitel from the Fleischer studio
@@baxterfilms That's fine, I think that the Van Beuren stuff is while nowhere near as zippy or uncontrollable as his Terrytoons work, you can still see some signs of his 'toony-ness, from the constant change from pie eyes to dotted eyes, one expression forming to the next. I think a teeny bit more Terrytoons though would be needed but it's still pretty good for what it is
6 years later and this still holds up as the greatest animation reel ever made holy cow
Jim Tyer is totally one of the most influential animators in The History Of Cartoons this guy was totally The Salvador Dali of Animation
Jim Tyer's animation is the only thing that makes terrytoon cartoons worth watching
It's insane and rubberry in the right way.
I dunno why this video's unlisted. It's great! What's the cartoon at 2:30?
Foolish Folies from 1930

“Case of Spring Fever”
A nice even dose of where this animation genius worked on. I love it!
So what this video is telling me is that this guy is the guy you'd wanna call to do fight scenes and action stuff. Awesome!
Where did you find these awesome hi-res versions?
How’d you get the Terrytoons footage in such great quality
Jim certainly certainly was good at drawing old elf-like characters.
A CASE OF SPRING FEVER.
Why does the upload date of the video say 2022?
I'm having the same issue. maybe it was unlisted but got relisted in 2022?

Could've used more Terrytoons rather than Van Beuren cartoons, but anyway, great job!
Didn't have access to good copies of Terrytoons, than I do now, at the time.

Wacky stuff there Jim
