    What are your thoughts on the ARRI Oribter? Would you add it to your cinematic lighting setup?

      It would be nice to have this as a set of lights like the classic arri fresnel lighting kit. Wish they've created that first.

    Fast forward a year later and I don’t think I’ve seen an orbiter on one set yet.
    Plenty of Aputure 300 & 600 and loads of skypanels.

      Yeah it really hasn’t caught on. It doesn’t make sense for many people because it takes up quite a bit of space and doesn’t have the output to justify it. I haven’t even seen it in larger rental houses either. They have the same complaints really.

    We'll have a couple of Orbiters in our inventory once they become available. I'm sure these fixtures will be as popular as the Skypanels and the HMI 'M' series from Arri. My only criticism is that there is almost too much stuff going on with this light. As a Gaffer who mostly works on commercials, I need a good quality light that can set up and tear down quickly. Most of the amazing features of the Orbiter will rarely (or never) be used on any typical commercial production set. As an owner of a rental house...WOW on the price point... We'll be able to get a good day rate on the Orbiter because DP's will ask for it by name, but there is some serious competition from less expensive 'off brand' fixtures that can deliver some pretty good light. I'm already seeing young DP's and Gaffers buying those fixtures for their own kits. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to seeing another blue and silver fixture from Arri join our already blue and silver heavy lighting inventory!

      What are those less expensive off brand fixtures that people are buying for their own kit? Asking because I am trying to learn about lighting.

    Well thought of construction. Will surely become a must when lights are needed. Don't dare to check the price list!

    Orbiter can save you so much time vs other light that is a no brained when you have to make your choice for a professional setup.

    The best video light ever made, it comes with the worlds worst price dough! If arri makes the price of the light 1500 usd, all other brands will become obsolete.I will buy at least 3 then.

      @@blender_wiki i am not agree. There are so many people that can afford and buy expensive crap,a car for example.They cant drive as i can,and they dont need it, so if you can afford some expensive bull... does not mean that you need it or not.

    Fascinating lighting, but the pricing.. OUCH! Only a very high end photo set would have the budget for something like that.

    What’s the difference between Orbiter and skypanel X ??

    • @BandH
      @BandH  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Skypanel X line are panel lights. Very different design than the Orbitor. Panel lights are made up of many led lights and the Orbitor is one and allows the use of changeable optics and other modifiers. The Orbiter is brighter than the ARRI X21. The Orbiter: 30° at 5600K:5388 fc / 58,000 Lux at 3.3' / 1 m (with Reflector) and the X21 is, 171 fc / 1839 Lux at 3 m.

    Orbiter can work as both hard and soft light ?????

    • @BandH
      @BandH  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. The softness of the light will depend on the size of the light source in comparison to the size of your subject. As the ARRI Orbiter LED Light is considered a point-source light fixture, it is designed to output hard light. However, as you may also use softboxes and light domes with the ARRI Orbiter LED Light, this will also allow you to enlarge the size and soften the light output from the ARRI Orbiter LED Light fixture.

    What kind of a stand this light uses ??

    • @BandH
      @BandH  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We recommend any heavy duty light stand, that can hold the weight of the light. Here are some we recommend: bhpho.to/3R5DDsD

    That’s not that sharp a shadow really. It’s certainly not Joker bug sharp.

    • @cagf2013
      @cagf2013 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah... but actually not bad at all for a 15 degree spot. The shadow edge does have a slight softness to it but there was no real double shadow or muddyness if you know what I mean.... it was relatively pleasing actually.. I was surprised it was even that good
