If you want your team to be inspired and productive, you need to learn how to run a meeting effectively. In this video, I go over some tips that will help you run an all hands meeting that gets your whole team excited.
Most companies have one meeting per week and they tend to cram everything into it. This is an impossible task to achieve. When you try to cover everything in one meeting, they run over, people leave feeling overwhelmed, and meetings get postponed or cancelled.
But you can fix this with a good meeting rhythm. An all hands meeting is your opportunity to really impact the entire organization at once. And if you can learn how to run a meeting effectively, your team will be excited for the next one.
You may think that you can't afford to pull everyone away from their jobs at the same time for this kind of meeting. But you can. Remember, the point of a meeting is to get everyone on the same page so that they can be more productive and motivated.
To really make it count, ask yourself this: How do you want people to think and feel when they leave? This should be the question you ask yourself when designing your agenda. If you want people to feel a certain way, you need to use stories. Storytelling is a powerful way to bring your team together and get them inspired. As CEO, you are the chief storytelling officer.
Scaling up your business requires learning how to run a meeting effectively. By connecting stories to company goals, your all hands meeting will come to life and so will your results.
