We had a problem with the oil light not going out. Resolved by using a vaccuum cleaner to Blow into the engine at oil filler with the filter removed until oil came up. Apparently the oil and filter change must be done quickly to avoid this issue.

Lucky you didn't destroy your engine. Oil change has to be done within 10 minutes to avoid the oil pump drying out.

Using a vacuum to draw the oil up is pretty clever. Some will lift the rear of the vehile as high as possible to get the pump pickup into the oil or add 2-5L more oil & once they have oill pressure they will then drain the excess off.
