      I studied before lecture and my instructor mention things that was’t really worth mentioning. I could explain it in a few sentences while she was going into detail for each step. Great instructor but other students were left confused.
      All we need is the formula, and a little guidance. no need for fancy words or background history. Just need to be nice and simple. By nice, maybe have the conversions placed separately instead of writing it next to the formula.

    For anyone who is stuck on how the they get 10^14 from 3*10^8/350*10^-9. Do 3/350, the answer is 8.57* 10^-3. then do 8-(-9)=10^17. simply add them 8.57*10^-3 + 10^17= 8.57*10^14.

    I've said it before but I'll say it online. People learn at different speeds. And I can't stress enough the satisfaction of being able to pause my "teacher" when they say something like "okay solve this" to work it out best I can and then unpause them. As in my head I see my "teacher" getting the satisfaction of continually telling the subject to the best of their ability without the need to slow down. As at any moment I can pause or just use my left or right arrow key to go back and forth. Gods what an era we live in.

    how did he get 14 out of 8 and -9?

    • @graces990
      @graces990 6 ปีที่แล้ว +95

      When you divide 3 by 350 you get .00857, when you subtract the powers you get 17 (since 8-(-9) is 8+9). So you have .00857*10^17, but this is not in scientific notation. For scientific notation you need a number between 1 and 10, .00857 is below 1 so you're going to have to simplifiy it further. Move the decimal 3 places to the right and you have 8.57, and the power will turn to 14 because you moved right three times.

    Thank you. I don't know if this two word thing can even explain how your video just vanished my headache that i got about 2hrs back trying to solve this single question from the past paper related to wavelength just thank you in loads 😭

    Hey I am a little lost on the last part why you flipped the m to nm and used 10^9 and not 10^-9

    at 4:11 "What is the frequency of a photon of light whose wavelength is 45nm?" I'm confused because the TAs in my class are saying to use Plancks constant in the equation (v= h*converted wavelength) but in the video you didn't so when I asked them about it they said it's the same thing even tho I didn't get the same answer ????? confused.

    How did you get 1.2 x 10 ^-4 for the first equation? I put it into my calculator and got 1.2x10^20

      same. I don't get how it results to 10^-4

      @@hhj5019 If anyone is still wondering the only way I could get it is if I divided 300000000 by 2500000000000 (converted them from their exponential form) and I got 0.00012 and when you change that to exponential for you get the same answer as him because you move the decimal point 4 places to the right....this is why I hate chemistry 😩

      @@hhj5019 you forgot parenthesis. It does 3*10^8/2.5, THEN multiplies it by 10^12. Parenthesis are important!

      For future questioners: you can divide the coefficients first. 3/2.5. That will get you 1.2. Then keep the 10 the same and just subtract the exponents, 8-12. That will get you 10^-4

    Question: Do the various waves that come out from the sun come out individually ( radio waves. Microwaves, x-ray waves) or do they come out in a combined wave having high and low frequency rates? And how is it separated?

    • @larrye2679
      @larrye2679 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Van Kaizer Doyola Lazaro What does it say? They come out as separate waves or combined waves that can be separated? Where can I find info about this, what us your book? Thank you😀
