Hi, I basically live with a water slide on my face and acne prone skin and kiehls did it for me y’all. They cleared up 90% of my cystic acne. Anyways, just wanted to confirm the ultra moisturizer is really nice for oily skin!! 👌🏼
Leigh P I use the ultra cleanser and toner along with their vitamin c correcting serum (I’m not sure the exact name but it is something along those lines). The only thing that I use that isn’t kiehls is the dramatically different moisturizing gel by Clinique. That’s my go to. I tried the daily facial oil that kiehls has but it didn’t do exactly what the gel does for me.
I recently discovered kiehl's and fell in love. I have acne prone skin with a dark spots. And I'm trying to figure out my skin routine with kiehl's. I'm having the same experience with you on the avacado eye creme. Thank you for your video I love how much knowledge you have please don't be afraid to share! 🖤
Up vote - I need nitpicking on skincare. It’s SO expensive for the name or packaging. I’d rather spend 💰 on something that has good ingredients and is effective than something with fragrance and ordinary irritating ingredients - who wants to try everything that could cause breakouts too? I used Becca First Light primer ONCE and woke up with 5 or 6 bumps. It happened before but I figured since I break out less now it wouldn’t cause that again - I have no idea what’s in it, but it’s bad for me. Let me know if you know what it could be. 👍
That's the problem with the word "fragrance" - since fragrance is legally protected, it's the one part of the ingredients list that we can't comb through and figure out potential issues (Backlight Priming Filter does have it). It leaves me so flustered when a scented product breaks me out!
I work for Kiehl’s and I agree with you on most opinions. My favorite thing to do with the youth dose eye is to cocktail it with the avocado. I found I get the pro retinol benefits as well as the luxurious texture of avocado eye. The glow formula is great for men who want a touch of radiance but for most women it’s not high enough impact due to the high saturation of glow products on the market. The bonus of it is the antioxidant protection so we like to market it with the vitamin c and the daily oil. You might like the new pure vitality moisturizer, the super multi eye and the cannabis Sativa seed oil.
Thank you for the explanation! That makes sense with the glow product. And I can see how mixing those two eye creams works for both day or night. Good solution!
I heard that they changed the Blue Herbal Spot Treatment and that most people don't find it effective as it used to be? I used to have bad acne but that helped me clear up my acne 3 years ago. I'm scared to rebuy it cause I heard they have a new formula. Thoughts?
Joyce Wu The formula of it is fine but it also depends on what kind of breakouts you have. If they’re surface, the blue herbal is great. If it’s more cystic, the sulfur one is really nice. Implementing retinol into my routine has helped me a lot with bumps underneath my skin as well.
This is great info! Thanks so much for your time and investment in reviewing these products! I have the calendula toner, but I think I'm going to go with the other one next time.
I'm the same way. When I'm in a rush, I tend to overdue my skincare..it's like you said, I have to remind myself to use less. 🤔 Thanks for the review, Alice! 😁
Your honesty and knowledge are appreciated! What we come to know in life is that the strong prey on the weak...”the strong” being companies who overprice products to the unknowing masses (not saying we’re weak but as consumers sometimes we are cuz we just don’t know about certain things). Having someone like you, coming from the background u do, who is sharing your experience is friggin awesome. Educating others is what makes a community great, the more aware we are the stronger we will be together even if that means keeping each other from buying crap 😂
It's a tough balance because I understand the appeal of luxury as well, and I respect that space. But I think that's kind of why the prices on certain products here bothered me! If your brand chooses mid-range (which is what I would call Kiehl's), then I feel the pricing should be consistent across the board. Haha I might be rambling, but yeah. I end up feeling, "is this aloe mask really from the same brand as the vitamin C?!?"
Seriously! Challenging to find brands that are consistent and trustworthy. Selling a product that is A+ but in the same line as one double the price that has garbage ingredients. Or making something we swear by but then discontinuing it and replacing it with something that couldn’t compare. Things like that make us all scratch our heads. Rants & rambling are essential, you’re saying what we’re all thinking or may think. Lol besides compromising your skin for review purposes I’d expect nothing less, good or bad. You keep it real and are my go-to on TH-cam, we share the same skin type. I’m just learning about skincare and how to use products efficiently. Luxury brands are tempting on face value alone (prestigious name, pretty packaging, sales lol) its tough to stay away.
I appreciate the fact that your nit picky. I need to know about the ingredients in all skincare products. I'm not crazy about products that have alcohol in it. Thanks for your information, Alice. Have a great weekend and I hope you feel better soon.
I’ve been trying to decide what to get from Kiehls for a while now and your review helped me so much choosing between the different serums/masks since I don’t have the money to get them all, thank you so much for this honest review, you seem like you really know the ups and downs skin care ingredients
I have been enjoying Kiehl’s Glow Formula Skin Hydrator (I got it in the last Glossybox). For me it is great on no makeup days. It blurs imperfections because of the slight tint, and provides somewhat of a glow. It reminds me of Origins Vitazing Moisturizer. Thanks for the video! I like these brand specific reviews a lot.
The Calendula mask is a holy grail for me. It has to be something more than aloe and calendula. I was healing from dermatitis bumps and tried everything. I didn’t think this was going to work and planned on returning it without even opening it cause I changed my mind. But I said what the heck let me try if since it’s here. I left it on probably longer than I should have and when I washed it off the redness from the bumps were GONE and I swear some of the bumps were gone. I was staring at my face for so long still skeptical cause I couldn’t believe that this product out of everything else I tried worked. Definitely not returning
Oh wow! Maybe calendula works extremely well for you? I have an undying love for snail mucin for the same reason haha. Or yeah, maybe something else - but it sure is a great feeling to find those very effective products!
Not only did I subscribe at the end of the video because of your knowledge on skincare, but even more so after I have read your answer to your first “most asked question” about sponsorship!! Yasssss!!!!
I am one of the peeps that asked for this and I felt a little shot of fear clicking in (bias bias bias!) because the line is mostly misses with one notable win. I love their C so much and I’m so pleased (and strangely relieved) that you do too! I’ll try a couple of your other favs soon.
Oh yes, I think you even mentioned that one by name! I was hesitant since a month ago, I still was dealing with sensitivity - even my former favorite C serums were too much. This one was such a great find!
Great review! I use their products for my core skincare everyday and I agree with a lot of what you said. I’ll keep coming back for more knowledge as i grow since I’m a just skincare newbie ❤️
I bought khiel's cucumber herbal toner today. Surprised to find out that their products, at least the toners and their most iconic moisturizers, were less expensive than paula's choice here. I bought the cucumber toner because I specifically need a toner or essence that hydrates but also cools down the skin (cucumber, aloe, thermal water, snail mucin filtrate kind of hydration and cooling/soothing), and my go to products were not in stock and I didn't want to buy from the body shop.
absolutely subscribed based off this video. I love how in depth this review is I am a fan of these products but knowing about the ingredients will absolutely determine how i'll go about purchasing later on. I am currently using the Sativa oil (love) and the Midnight oil also love have been sketchy about the moisturizers so this is great
I actually just went to a Kiehls counter and they did a skin health test on my skin. They measured the level of hydration in my skin and then they recommended which products would work best. It felt so good to actually know what condition my skin is in and what products I should try! It felt so nice. I’m now trying out a bunch of them. Just found your channel. Thanks for all the information.
AliceintheRabbitHole yes! I know I have super dry skin and I’ve tried everything to make it better. They measured mine and it’s only at 23% out of the 100% ! And I drink a lot of water and stuff. So then it was so nice to not have to guess which products would be best for me, instead they were able to point out the best. So I’m excited to see if they actually make a difference.
I used to buy ALL my skincare products from kiehls, meaning I have tried pretty much everything except those products for oily skin. But now I switched to drugstore because they are way cheaper and perform just as well or sometimes better. The only thing that can not be replaced is the avocado eye cream. Fantastic eye cream is right! It’s the only eye cream doesn’t give me milia no matter how much I use and I’m very heavy handed with eye cream.
It's not a bad price either! That's what was so funny for me with this trial - some products are priced almost at drugstore levels (the toner? $16?!) - then others have a huge jump in price lol!
Kiehl's is a brand that I tend to overlook for some reason. Thank you for reviewing the brand! It turns out that I have a ton of deluxe samples from kiehl's from beauty boxes that you mentioned in this video, now I'm more interested in trying those out haha
Right? It took me a while to do this video for the same reason! It's funny though since some people really do swear by and stick to the brand (and now I get it!)
I just saw a video with Michelle LabMuffinBeautyScience where she said someone in a manufacturing lab told her that the goal price for skincare ingredients is under a penny. I don't know if that is per ounce or per bottle, but either way it's a lot less than we pay. Of course there are other costs- marketing, packaging, research, but still, skincare ingredients don't cost very much.
Like others, I like your HONEST opinion! I totally agree with you that Ultra Facial Toner is much better than Calendula Herbal Extract Toner. For new Kiehl's user, I suggest trying both samples before buying the latter just because it's one of the top 10 customer favorites. I was considering to purchase Powerful Reducing Line Concentrate or/and Daily Reviving Concentrate or/and Midnight Recovery Concentrate, your comments help me on making my choice! Thanks :)
Happy to help! ☺️ Oh definitely, I think sampling is the way to go for anyone! It's tragic to me that samples are hard for some to come by (in the US, it's almost the opposite problem...well, you know, when the world isn't what it is right now!) Thanks for watching 😊
I love your honesty! It was your skincare videos that convinced me to start paying attention and figure out what things I could buy individually to lessen the fact that all moisturizers seemed to cause breakouts on me. Weirdly enough, it seems my face is not a huge fan of glycerin being left on from what I've ultimately been able to tell. I know it's supposed to be a safe ingredient but ultimately it's all I could narrow down. It's chill with it being in a cleanser, usually okay with mists - but a lotion that's left on or that sinks in? NOPE. Only if I want multiple whiteheads scattered randomly the next day! I have Oily/Combination skin and knew I needed I still needed a moisturizer because as you even say in this videos, ingredients balance each other out and if I'm treating all my acne, I risk pushing my skin the other way and depriving it. Squalane and hyaluronic acid separated from the rest have done an amazing job... and I don't think I'd have dared try them separate of a combined moisturizer if you hadn't emphasized in another video to look at ingredients and find what you like and what works for you. Now I can add and remove other things. So I adore your nitpicking. It reminds me to look at things analytically and decide if I should just buy something separate or if really think that combination will work. Otherwise I can get caught in the hype of reviews and make poor decisions. That Calendula cleansing foam is so tempting... Calendula is something I'm finding really effective for me. But right now I'm trying Murad's time release acne cleanser (Jury's still out, I don't know what to think, because I also think I'm stress breaking out at the moment, which is not fair to any cleanser) and Fab + Fit's glycolic cleansing every other day (retinol on days I don't use it, and honestly, it's seeming awesome? But again, tough time to tell)....so I really should wait on another cleanser. Damned tempting Calendula.
Worst reaction I’ve ever had. I love the toner and ultra cream and ultra facial moisturizer. I got a sample of the midnight recovery eye cream and I have never reacted to a skincare product like that in my life. I woke up and my eyes were so swollen and remained droopy for a few days and over the next two weeks my eye area looked and felt like sandpaper. I never have reactions, but it’s hard for me to trust anything but their basic staples now. I dunno what the hell they put in that eye cream but whatever it was, I now know it had the assistance of denatured alcohol to ensure its toxic concoction could penetrate deeply into my eye skin. 2 months later and I can still see some slight drooping. So I’m glad to see you recognize it may be problematic to recommend. Xo
Oh no!! Skincare reactions are so frustrating - I know all about that, sadly. It's shocking when it happens (my bad reaction took about 6 weeks to clear up - TOO LONG!) I learned to patch test everything. It's tedious but I never EVER want to experience that again! So sorry to hear you went through that ☹️☹️
my heart says Khiel's, but my wallet says Cerave. that Calendula foaming cleanser calls to me so much, though! i really appreciate this video not only as a Khiel's review, but also because i learned a lot about those skincare ingredients you were 'nitpicky' about, so thank you!
Yeah, I found it hard to get good deals on this brand in general. I'm hoping Ulta will feature some of these in upcoming 21 Days type of events - I would stock up!!
Wow I just stumbled upon your channel by sheer luck! You are so through. You bring in all aspects of a product and you’re so filled with knowledge! It really allows your viewers to be smart consumers. Keep up the amazing work! Got a sub from me ❤️
This is Black Milk Clothing! I like bold outfits and live in a city where it's completely acceptable to dress fun, thus I don't hesitate to live up to that style 😁
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Ok, I need to find out if they ship to Sweden! Also, LOL at the fact that someone puts filler and canola oil in a tiny jar for 50+ dollars!!
Right?! But it's so...conflicting. Because I also understand why people like it. I think that's what bothers me about the way things are priced - it seems to not matter what the ingredients cost if the people like the end product (how does the saying go, market sets the value?)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole 100% get what you mean. Then I remember the La Mer cream. Faith in humanity: ambiguous! Many thanks to you and Dr Dray who tries to educate the masses.
I just purchased their buttermilk lip mask, lip oil, and ginger and hibiscus farming mask. They actually had a 40% off sale that I took advantage of. I've been wanting to try every single one of their products. But I don't pay full price for anything. I buy from eBay or Marshalls or TJ Maxx. And, you are correct, learning can be a curse because it seems like you're being overly critical, when you're not you're just educated. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think people watch for an educated and informed opinion.
I saw that sale! What an incredible deal; I've never seen Kiehl's run that deep of a discount (at least not direct, you're right on TJMaxx, etc having the best deals!)
Lots of great information! Thanks so much for being nit-picky!! ❤️ I think I also apply my skincare on the heavy side sometimes.. probably all of the time
Haha yeah, I guess it matches my "not good at slowing down" lifestyle lol. The default ends up being going into all products hard and of course picking up more product than I need! 😂
I’ve been watching a few views on Kiehl’s skincare. I try to keep it simple. A facewash and a Moisturizer. That’s it. I don’t have time for all that extra stuff. Thanks for the review!
You mentioned the parabens in the eye cream. Did a little reading and found that Kiehl’s has made a commitment to remove parabens from all of their products by the of the year, as inventory runs out for those products with the parabens. Really enjoyed your review.
Kiehl’s just confirmed in my Q&A to them about the 3 parabens in the avacado eye cream. The paraben free version will be available in the fourth quarter of this year. 😁
I tried the ultra facial cream, and I’ve never had a such a bad reaction. As soon as I applied it, it instantly started to BURN. I checked reviews online and I’m not the only one who experienced this ... I’m suspecting it’s just not good for super sensitive skin. I was so disappointed since so many skin care gurus rave about it 😭😭😭
If you have oily or sensitive skin, I recommend ultra facial oil-free gel cream. I've been using for almost 2 years. Love the texture & effect on my skin
I know you have a bunch of brands to get through, but if you could revisit Ole Henriksen, I would really appreciate it. Especially some of the newer products like the Retin-ALT, the cold plunge mask and the banana eye cream. Gracias!
I love kiehls. I use to use clinique but I switched almost all the way to kiehls. I need to find a gel moisterizer from them for my extra oily skin. I use their toner in the all white bottle. I use alot more but i cant type it all.
I am glad you reviewed Kiehl's. I can see your glow on your cheeks. I hate that you feel poorly. We have had sinus infections here for a week. I have the Midnight recovery cream. I like it. It is pricey, but it is very nice. Great review. Feel better...❌✖❌
Thank you! Yeah my results speak for themselves, I think! I'm just hoping to catch some of these favorites in an Ulta sale now that Ulta carries Kiehl's! 😂😂
That is one of the reasons! Alcohol is multi-purpose in use (also a weak preservative). Most cosmetic chemists that I've talked to don't have an issue with it, which makes sense as they are the ones putting ingredients together to be shelf-stable!
I used to love this Kiehl's then I bought a lot of the serum, not they are just sitting in my fridge in the kitchen. Maybe I need to use them.... thanks!
Hey Alice is StriVectin a product worth my money I really hope so cuz I spent a lot on it today. I hope its decent. I don't think I've seen you do a review on it yet. Or don't remember it anyway. Xoxo
I reviewed Strivectin! 😊th-cam.com/video/IBI_KQD_6w0/w-d-xo.html I ended up impressed overall, and I think their formulas are unique (+onto something with Myristyl Nicotinate)
I hope you dont mind my input on this but I feel I should tell you my experience. I have been in the beauty biz for over 20 years and am a licensed esthetician and have worked for alot of high end brands and still do. Ive used 3 of strivectins overly priced products. Noticed absolutely no change to my skin with any of them. Everyones different mind you but I had no positive results to show from shelling out all that money.
If you're going to shell out that much cash I suggest investing in medical grade. I am licenses and have worked with derms who would say the same thing. Technology is amazing. Researchers and scientists are coming up with more ingredients and formulas every year that may help reduce the signs if aging. And I do stress the term maybe. Here's a few things to try...stop with the sugar...it breaks down collagen. Wear a mineral based sunscreen everyday. Stop with the dairy. It causes inflammation. Drink lots of water and eat clean. Take a vit c and d supplement. Just my suggestions I've done and has helped more than anything. If you must watch you tube beauty skincare try dermatologists vlogs.
I really love the creme de corps body butter and lotion, also the calendula mask I find very soothing for my sensitive skin 👌 have to try the eye cream after this review 😊
Thank you Alice for this well elaborayed presentation. Congratulations for reaching tje 10,000.00 subscribers. May you have many, many more because you deserve it . I am using the cleansing oil and it is good for me as the first step in my cleansing routine and I will try the foam. For now I am using Japanese foams , mild and effective. It would be interesting to find out what you think about the " upper echalon" of this brand, i.e the Retrouve . I bought the eye cream and the serum. They also sell an introductory set for $ 25.
Yeah, I'd like to do some more luxury reviews, but it really requires me to think differently. I respect the space - if you've worked hard and profited, and if skincare is what you enjoy, then I think luxury skincare can be a lovely way to reward yourself! But it's still a balance to discuss it, because I never want to portray "if you DON'T use luxury skincare, your skincare routine will never be at it's full potential." I see it very much like luxury handbags. You can certainly carry your belongings in a Walmart bag and get them from Point A to Point B. But if you want to indulge, by all means, do it! Neither is superior in utility, but the luxury handbag may represent an achievement of success to the buyer (which is awesome! But .. sometimes judged or envied, sadly.) I think that latter point is why it becomes so tricky to discuss!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Yes, Alice. A lot of times it is about appearances. One wants, by all means, to shout: " I can afford it! " . It was not what I, Carmen, intended to do. I just wanted to compare skin care products. Retrouve does not even include the brand name Kiehl on the line as if they are not related and the discrepency in prices is unbelievable. I mentionned Retrouve not for the price but for being part of the Kiehl brand.
@@carmenmason6102 oh totally understand, was explaining why I don't talk about luxury products too frequently on my channel (but still am hoping to in the near future). Thanks for sharing that brand as I hadn't heard of it, even more interesting that it's linked to Kiehls!
i did have normal to oily skin but acne prone, up until i tried to put on pure alcohol n now my skin is so dry (how fool i was) n oily when i wake up in the morning n still acne prone, will that b great if i use ultra facial toner ?
Hmm, I think it will probably help. Mostly, i'd avoid the alcohol for a while and use a good occlusive product for a bit until your skin normalizes. Are you using a moisturizer?
@@AliceintheRabbitHole yeah that was my mistake, i clearly didn't have any idea abt alcohol on our face skin n yes, i'm using a local brand moisturizer n hydration toner from my country Indonesia, n it doesn't do much of a difference, it's just keeping my skin hydrated for a while, n i'm planning on purchasing kiehl's products cz some people say that their products r great, n i just watched ur review which is very in depth explaination, so, i asked u based on my skin condition 😅 n thank u for replying
Is it weird that I’m 17 M and prefer women’s skincare vids rather men’s? So far, I have the Calendula Skincare product line, the eye depuffer, and thinking about getting both the night time and day serum (would it be worth it? And what would your recommended skin care routine be?)
Hmm. What cleanser are you using? I actually think you might just be using too harsh of a cleanser. If it's stripping your skin too much, you could be overproducing oil later to compensate (that dry sensation isn't a good sign) So it could be a case of needing to switch out a product vs buying a different product!
@@cheezuschrist1102 oh okay. Yeah that one is pretty gentle. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try a serum then. Potentially even the Daily Reviving Concentrate would be nice on your skin as it's not too heavy and a little goes a long way.
I do try to mention it as often as I remember, but it's in a LOT of products. My best recommendation would be to always check the ingredients no matter what I also found a service that lets you eliminate ingredients from your skincare routine if you want to check it out: th-cam.com/video/upEJXaADrtc/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps! 😊
Lol at canola oil. 😂 I don't really use keihls for the crazy price point. I got to order their multi corrective eye cream in a travel size and I see the ingredients list and it's not very impressive either. 😒😏
Oh no! Sadly, that's not an uncommon reaction (it's called milia if you want to read more on it). I used to shy away from eye serums, but I've come to realize they could be a good option for those prone to milia: they sink in much more than a cream which could (potentially) mean less issues. Might be worth trying for you?
AliceintheRabbitHole I really don’t understand the reasoning, I find glycolic so harsh, I do have some samples of the new Eu Glycolic formulation to try, and a lactic backup I hoarded when I found out about them discontinuing 😂
It sounds like you and I are alike in enjoying thoroughly taking in information! A while back I tried to run a blog to correspond with my videos (in a watch/read type of way) but it was SO much work tbh 😅. I wish full time YTers could do it though - it's a way to ABSORB information, I feel!
Indeed! Great minds think alike! I'm the girl who actively reads all the copy on the packaging that no one else ever even notices. I'm currently in the process of starting up a beauty blog and was thinking about doing the TH-cam thing to accompany it, but I agree that I should probably prioritize too so as not to spread myself thinner than a watered-down facial serum. 😂🙃
I love this brand, I started using after my husband bought few men products and calendula face wash fur me along with some samples. Then I tried ultra cream. Since that I am hooked. I like to try new face creams, but always go back to ultra when I am out of ideas what to use or simply want ultra cream again
It's like hair products as well. I know so much about hair. And the cost of these at the suppliers , then you see prices at the salon. I have no issues about paying for someone's time. But when I know the cost of the color you just put on my hair and then add a TRIM. And bang its 300 dollars. So I paid ok a haircut was 30 dollars so then I just paid. 220 . For their time. But think about it while I'm sitting and waiting for it to develop, the stylist did 2 hair cuts . So they made a minimum of another 60 , while I sat. I have an extremely hard time paying that. I get professional color , and I try to do it myself or someone I know apply it for me then I go get it cut. I refuse to pay 150 and for something that cost under 20 dollars. And then do other clients while I sit. I just won't do it. And that's the cheap salon's, not the seriously overpriced hyped up ones. This whole world lives in a huge inflation bubble of, over pricing cheap products.
I’ve used some of their products, with thankfully an okay experience I’ve tried their midnight concentrate, rare earth mask, men body wash and the shampoo, CCDS Now trying their ultra facial cream, and soon their calendula toner and face wash I received their deluxe sample thank god, because i just couldnt justify their price tag for a product that is so simple 😅 Their cream is surprisingly really lightweight, i thought its gonna be buttery since i heard its more for dry skin And so far so good, no greasiness and my skin absorbs it quickly
I love Kiehl’s overall as a brand. The calendula foaming wash & toner( wish it was a spray) are a fav! Also love the Midnight oil, and the rare earth Mask! I have dry oily skin, and wear heavy makeup daily.
I ended up putting the rest of my calendula toner into a spray bottle - you just have to pour carefully so the little bits don't go into the bottle. But yeah haha - totally prefer that too! 😂
I have to say that I loved your review. I hate looking for reviews on products and most reviews found are just on a day of trying the product. You can’t have an honest review on just trying it for the first time! There are never reviews of their overall experience on what it did to their skin. And if so I have to click on like 10 videos on their progress. Of course everyone has different skin types so it’s really hard to take someone’s word for skin care. But your review seemed honest and to the point and I really appreciated watching your review! Thank you!
It really is difficult to review skincare! It's kind of funny how it progressed on my channel. When I first started, I had a bit of a black and white perception: skin care either works or doesn't! But as people started commenting their experiences, I realized just how much different skin types vary the results! I try to keep that perspective in mind now! Thanks for watching 😊

The only thing that I use that isn’t kiehls is the dramatically different moisturizing gel by Clinique. That’s my go to. I tried the daily facial oil that kiehls has but it didn’t do exactly what the gel does for me.
Thank you so much! I also use the Clinique moisturizer and I love it. I’m going to look into the correcting serum :D

I'm the same way. When I'm in a rush, I tend to overdue my skincare..it's like you said, I have to remind myself to use less. 🤔 Thanks for the review, Alice! 😁
Right I have no idea why it's easier to apply more than less lol!
Thank you! I seem to be affected by the massive hot to cold, cold to hot changes in weather - get me every season!
I’ve been trying to decide what to get from Kiehls for a while now and your review helped me so much choosing between the different serums/masks since I don’t have the money to get them all, thank you so much for this honest review, you seem like you really know the ups and downs skin care ingredients
Happy to help 😊
Senne Fierens try night serum it works like magic
Christine Sanchez just bought it, do you apply it in combination with a mositurizer before bed?
Christine Sanchez really excited to try it!
@@Sillybilly1001 yes! you apply it after cleaner (and toner) but before moisturizer! dont forget to moisturizer
Thanks for sharing your experience! 😊
Kiehls is a good brand , and u get samples. My opinion kiehsl need to remove sulfate
Yasssss!!!!
If you have dry skin , the hydro boost is s really good product! Saved my skin this winter !
Amazing review. Everything here was so well considered. Really appreciate this.
Thanks for watching!
absolutely subscribed based off this video. I love how in depth this review is I am a fan of these products but knowing about the ingredients will absolutely determine how i'll go about purchasing later on. I am currently using the Sativa oil (love) and the Midnight oil also love have been sketchy about the moisturizers so this is great
Yeah I'm interested in trying their Sativa oil! I've been using another brands with great results! 😊
My husband is in love with with their men's soap.
Funny you mention that device, I was just telling a friend how fascinating those are! It’s nice to have a way to measure skin hydration!
Can u plz tel what products u used and did they work for ur dehydration?? Thanks
What are your alternatives?
Which drugstore products did you replace them with?
Kiehl's is a brand that I tend to overlook for some reason. Thank you for reviewing the brand! It turns out that I have a ton of deluxe samples from kiehl's from beauty boxes that you mentioned in this video, now I'm more interested in trying those out haha
Right? It took me a while to do this video for the same reason! It's funny though since some people really do swear by and stick to the brand (and now I get it!)
I actually love the midnight recovery concentrate for my severly dry skin plus a lot of their other products. Thanks for your video😍
Yeah, i like it too haha. Just going to see if I can come close to it's effects for less money 🤫😂😂
Yea!!! I love the Calendula containing products..They have really helps my skin, relaxing to use due to the mild spa scents and just do me right
I just saw a video with Michelle LabMuffinBeautyScience where she said someone in a manufacturing lab told her that the goal price for skincare ingredients is under a penny. I don't know if that is per ounce or per bottle, but either way it's a lot less than we pay. Of course there are other costs- marketing, packaging, research, but still, skincare ingredients don't cost very much.
Yup, it's so true. Thankfully we are seeing quite the influx of affordable brands these days!
Keihl's creme de corps has saved my skin after moving to a desert climate. Totally worth it.
It's tragic to me that samples are hard for some to come by (in the US, it's almost the opposite problem...well, you know, when the world isn't what it is right now!)
Thanks for watching 😊
Yeah, I definitely think it's possible for an ingredient that the majority can use to be a problem for some - that's skin for ya, it varies SO much!
Thanks you for your review. I’m new to trying Kiehls and your review was the only one I found that was actually helpful!
Happy to help!
I have four of your top five selection. Great choices.
Cerave ultra light AM moisturizer is AMAZING!!!
Wow I just stumbled upon your channel by sheer luck! You are so through. You bring in all aspects of a product and you’re so filled with knowledge! It really allows your viewers to be smart consumers. Keep up the amazing work! Got a sub from me ❤️
Thank you! I want people to be smarter consumers, absolutely. It involves seeing through a lot of marketing! ♥️
Totally not related to skincare... where do you find those awesome tshirts?
@@AliceintheRabbitHole one more thing: what do you think about the Kiehls cilantro pollution defending mask?
@@noprogressionisregression6854 I actually haven't tried that one!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I found one on eBay for $20. I think it would be a good morning mask.
You should try the calendula serum infused water cream. I think you’d like it :)
I have tried that since this video - and you’re spot on, it’s a lovely product! 😊
the kiehls oil cleanser is an actual cleanser not just to remove make up.
You are amazing! I love the way you speak and your truth review.
Thank you!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole 🤣😂😂
I’ve been watching a few views on Kiehl’s skincare. I try to keep it simple. A facewash and a Moisturizer. That’s it. I don’t have time for all that extra stuff. Thanks for the review!
IF I want better results shall i go for: Super Multi-Corrective Cream or Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask ?
Hmm, I would say the Ginger leaf seemed higher impact to me. Perhaps because it’s left on overnight?
You mentioned the parabens in the eye cream. Did a little reading and found that Kiehl’s has made a commitment to remove parabens from all of their products by the of the year, as inventory runs out for those products with the parabens. Really enjoyed your review.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing!
Kiehl’s just confirmed in my Q&A to them about the 3 parabens in the avacado eye cream. The paraben free version will be available in the fourth quarter of this year. 😁
If Dr Hauschka or Louis Widmer Skincare is available in America could you please try that one out?
I definitely want to try Dr. Hauschka (and I do think it's easy to get here) - will have to look up the other one though. Thanks for the suggestions!
thank u so much for this video, i needed! 🙌
I tried the ultra facial cream, and I’ve never had a such a bad reaction. As soon as I applied it, it instantly started to BURN. I checked reviews online and I’m not the only one who experienced this ... I’m suspecting it’s just not good for super sensitive skin. I was so disappointed since so many skin care gurus rave about it 😭😭😭
Oh no!! Yeah, sounds like an ingredient could be causing an allergic reaction (burning is often a sign of allergy)
If you have oily or sensitive skin, I recommend ultra facial oil-free gel cream. I've been using for almost 2 years. Love the texture & effect on my skin
I just can't handle the cuteness of your shirt!! Great review from the line :)
Thank you 😁

I know you have a bunch of brands to get through, but if you could revisit Ole Henriksen, I would really appreciate it. Especially some of the newer products like the Retin-ALT, the cold plunge mask and the banana eye cream. Gracias!
I've tried the eye cream and I actually do love it (minus the scent lol)
AliceintheRabbitHole after I posted this, I saw your poll. Doh!
I love kiehls. I use to use clinique but I switched almost all the way to kiehls. I need to find a gel moisterizer from them for my extra oily skin. I use their toner in the all white bottle. I use alot more but i cant type it all.
Definitely a great brand! ☺️
Great detailed information 👌 I love their products, especially their serums
I love that toner. I think I’m going to buy it again.
OOOPH it's such a good toner!! Quite the find there!
I always thought alcohol denat is added as a stabilizer for the oils so your products don’t go rancid?!
That is one of the reasons! Alcohol is multi-purpose in use (also a weak preservative). Most cosmetic chemists that I've talked to don't have an issue with it, which makes sense as they are the ones putting ingredients together to be shelf-stable!
I subscribed because of this in depth review.
I used to love this Kiehl's then I bought a lot of the serum, not they are just sitting in my fridge in the kitchen. Maybe I need to use them.... thanks!
Ooh I see you know where to store your skincare! Smart!! 😀
Hey Alice is StriVectin a product worth my money I really hope so cuz I spent a lot on it today. I hope its decent. I don't think I've seen you do a review on it yet. Or don't remember it anyway. Xoxo
I reviewed Strivectin! 😊th-cam.com/video/IBI_KQD_6w0/w-d-xo.html
I ended up impressed overall, and I think their formulas are unique (+onto something with Myristyl Nicotinate)
I love love love Kiehls. It’s worth every penny.
If it's a peel, is one supposed to cleanse it off in the morning?
The nightly peel? Yeah if you're talking about the serum, you'd apply it at night and remove it when you wash in the AM
i love kiehls but they aren’t cruelty free :(
Yes they are. They just switched.
But it's still a balance to discuss it, because I never want to portray "if you DON'T use luxury skincare, your skincare routine will never be at it's full potential."
I see it very much like luxury handbags.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole
Yes, Alice.

I personally use a separate day and night serum, but I would add that it depends on your needs! Are you targeting any specific skin concerns?
Hmm. What cleanser are you using? I actually think you might just be using too harsh of a cleanser. If it's stripping your skin too much, you could be overproducing oil later to compensate (that dry sensation isn't a good sign)
So it could be a case of needing to switch out a product vs buying a different product!
AliceintheRabbitHole the calendula one
@@cheezuschrist1102 oh okay. Yeah that one is pretty gentle. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try a serum then. Potentially even the Daily Reviving Concentrate would be nice on your skin as it's not too heavy and a little goes a long way.
AliceintheRabbitHole ty very much
I find it weird you didn't mention that the avocado eye cream contains parabens.
I do try to mention it as often as I remember, but it's in a LOT of products. My best recommendation would be to always check the ingredients no matter what
I also found a service that lets you eliminate ingredients from your skincare routine if you want to check it out: th-cam.com/video/upEJXaADrtc/w-d-xo.html

Oh no! Sadly, that's not an uncommon reaction (it's called milia if you want to read more on it).
I used to shy away from eye serums, but I've come to realize they could be a good option for those prone to milia: they sink in much more than a cream which could (potentially) mean less issues. Might be worth trying for you?
AliceintheRabbitHole will definetly look into them, thank you!
Good genes is glycolic now in Europe 😩 the lactic content was too high for EU regulations, so Sunday Riley reformulated it , so sad 😩
Ohhhh so THAT is what happened. Lactic acid is less sensitizing though! How frustrating!!
AliceintheRabbitHole I really don’t understand the reasoning, I find glycolic so harsh, I do have some samples of the new Eu Glycolic formulation to try, and a lactic backup I hoarded when I found out about them discontinuing 😂
Omg congrats on 10k!!! 💐

God I love your videos!! I do this thing where I browse the website of whatever brand you are reviewing as I'm watching your review!! 🤣🤣

You should try Evanhealy next. Its one of my favorites ✨
My problem with this toner is it’s 35 dollars..... haha felt this love you
You remind me of Bethany frankel! Love your personality.
The inflation these days is out of control. I notice it every time we go to the grocery store. Prices can't jump THAT much in such a short time!
I enjoy this HONEST review
Thank you ☺️
I’ve used some of their products, with thankfully an okay experience
I’ve tried their midnight concentrate, rare earth mask, men body wash and the shampoo, CCDS
Now trying their ultra facial cream, and soon their calendula toner and face wash
I received their deluxe sample thank god, because i just couldnt justify their price tag for a product that is so simple 😅
Their cream is surprisingly really lightweight, i thought its gonna be buttery since i heard its more for dry skin
And so far so good, no greasiness and my skin absorbs it quickly
Thank you!
AliceintheRabbitHole yeah I’ll have to try it that way
love your skincare reviews
The hat says "I mean business"
😁
None. Never use kiehls products and never will. Pricey and not justified. Ingredients that has no further research to go off on.
You look so much like Tati Westbrook! So pretty :)
Thank you! ♥️
