    thank you Dr Mork, i am an active duty x-ray corpsman, and this clear up a lot for me, especially I'm working on presenting a film critique on CTL to my department, and as an X-ray tech, it helps to distinguish spondylitis with spondylosis or spondylolysis

    Thanks for the explanation. I was diagnosed w “spondy” and been to 3 doctors who just dismissed me and seemed like my pain was “normal” I have stiffness and pain in my lower back(L4-L5) and my right butt cheek has dull achy pain and sometimes knife-like pain. I was sent to PT, Mobic and Tizanidine for the past 4 yrs now. Walking and Sitting is hard everyday. I think pain is something I just have to embrace. I am not even 60 yet.

      try some joga exercises and strengthen your back muscles, stretching of your back is necessary as well.and try to hang downwards from the ceiling. more load(but correctly executed) you put on your low back, surprisingly less pain will you have later on

      Tina,
      I have been experiencing the exact same issues as you state. I am getting mixed messages from a number of medical professionals. Have you improved? If so what was your treatment?

      I’ve had some rough injuries and have always done manual labor and sucked it up through pain and lifted weights for a while when I shouldn’t have. My body is in rough shape to say the least

    Hi I was diagnosed with ms 20 years ago, my symptoms have always been different to other MSers. My mobility is worse after sitting and feels really stiff and uncomfortable around my lumbar. Having an mri soon hopefully. My mg/cal ratio isn’t balanced so I supplement with mg. Should I be using boron and k2 as well, thank you

    Was at first diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Then I got sciatica, serious pain on my left leg when standing and pains in the lower back when seated or otherwise. Sciatica of late disappeared. But have pains in the middle of my spinal cord as if dislocated. X-ray showed spurs and spinal cord vertebrae collapsing as the cartilage is worn out and extruding out leaving the vertebrae to most time scratching each other. Pains. On painkillers.Tired. Any treatment?

    So the question is: do the osteophytes form as a result of disc compression, or from some independent other process.

    Dr. Mork, I have had severe headaches (especially worse in morning) and severe neck and shoulder pain for 3 years with severe pain in occipital region in morning and upper shoulders. Originally diagnosed as pseudotumor cerebri, but 24-hour ICP monitoring ruled that out. I hear clicking when I turn my head as if something is getting caught on a bone with limited movement to one side of my neck. What do I tell my neurologist to ensure that the proper tests are run? I am only 45 and former teacher (I had to resign due to pain). I live in Florida. I appreciate your timely response. Thank you.

    Its not just wear and tear, otherwise all the people should have it in some part of their lives. There should be some other factor/factors behind spondylosis.

    • @DrTonyMork
      @DrTonyMork  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people just have more degenerative changes and calcium formation.

    • @rastazorastra1772

      Exactly. I just got in a MVA rear ended by a truck. I'm 26. No prior injuries. Couldn't walk at first had to use crutches then a cane on medical leave 5 months later they told me to get an MRI. I just got my results today. Posterior disc bulge L4/L5 & L1/S1. Facet osteoarthritis and lumbar spondylisis. I have no idea what these mean but I know it's not from wear and tear or old age!!! Some please help give advice I have so much pain

    • @DrTonyMork
      @DrTonyMork  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spondylosis is a term used to describe x-ray finding, it does not account for pain. Even if you have "wear and tear" changes, it doesn't mean that they ever hurt. The pain you have is likely from the injury that you experienced - not possible to make a diagnosis or recommendation on this platform.

    • @rastazorastra1772
      @rastazorastra1772 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DrTonyMork thank you that alone is so useful information basically it is because of the injury anyone that states "that's life" "wear and tear" "apart of old age" I should seek another opinion due to my age and being healthy before the accident.
