Hi Hugh, In the UK an optical cable is not supplied. It may be different depending on where you are purchasing and worth checking. There are links to Amazon sites in the UK, Germany and USA in the TH-cam description box below the video. Hope this is helpful. Enjoy your Bowfell when it arrives!
