I would personally recommend The House in the Cerulean Sea as an adult fantasy book for fans of middle grade. It really had middle grade vibes, and it's a comfort read for a lot of people.
I don't know if you've read Ranger's Apprentice, but Magician by Raymond E. Feist feels very similar to it, especially at the beginning. Magician was the first adult fantasy I read and I liked how familiar it felt to me, since the beginning and central characters were so similar to what I'd read before - would definitely recommend :)

The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a novella following a minor character from the series. The third and final book in the series is elusive and no one knows if or when it will come out- it's the same situation as George R.R. Martin with Winds of Winter.
Damn, I missed this when I am desperately looking for some specific recommendations. Like the reverse of Narnia or Harry Potter? Someone from the fantasy world ending up in modern world and learning to navigate life. Just fantastical characters not knowing how to use phones and the internet 😭
It’s actually pretty graphic. I had no idea about it before picking it up and was really shocked. I would either skip this book or maybe figure out what pages it’s on so you can skip over it. It’s a beautiful book but I would NOT read that scene if you would be triggered by SA
If you ever pull a request from here I am looking for a fantasy that has lots of interesting monsters! I lovvvved The Bear and the Nightingale with all the Russian folklore creatures. Other examples I like to point to are the episode of the Witcher with the banshee type woman creature, ACOTAR’s Suriel, and many many Buffy episodes. I would love any recommendations! ❤️
I was disappointed by Sword of Kaigen. I know many love it, but there were things in it that, while nitpicky on my part, nevertheless bothered me. But you piqued my interest with Foundryside. I often look for books with queer characters and/or queer romance (I read a lot of gay romances). Empire of Exiles was awesome.
How queer do you want it to be? The Bone Shard Daughter and the Six of Crows duology are both pretty dark and have very good representation in general, each one including a queer couple. Is that enough or did you want the main plotline following a queer character? For the latter, I'd recommend Cemetery Boys. It's a YA fantasy romance standalone, and while it does have some flaws (the climax is terribly written imo), the representation is very good and I enjoyed the romance. The main character is a gay trans guy, and I think it counts as dark too: death is a big theme in the book among other things.
I'd highly recommend Summer Sons! It's very queer and very dark. It's a southern Gothic and definitely gives creepy vibes in the best way, with death being a big theme.

Despite having read none of the books featured, I was able to guess most of the recommendations as they have been featured in multiple other recommendation videos. I would love to see a video of books you love but haven’t featured on your channel before!
But she talks about every book she reads, right? So we know all the books if we watch all of her videos. Maybe try some other channels with different reading taste?
