As someone who has explained the games via the concept of "zones," this is interesting because you're using it to explain a completely different aspect of neutral. This is more in relation to the entire screen than the subtle parts of "footsies." It creates a broad view for people to start with as a foundation. This is very good especially for newer players to have some structure. Very well done. I will have to watch this a few more times to fully grasp the details of what you're saying, and maybe expand on it.
Helped me so much. With all appreciation could you help info to fight Guile with Ryu. A friend just croaches to sonic ɓooms, Dp and super. Hard to deal with it especially opening him up.
Good guile players like myself don’t use those moves in the corner because when near the corner most people DI and all of Guiles unique attacks are susceptible to DI
@@fifonefifty While that's true you guys still use them. Maybe not as much like because of DI but they still come out. The number of times I've watched Du V Punk would be my reference. Or, just Guiles in ranked in general. This was for the majority as well. There aren't many "good guiles" tbh. Nice catch though!
This really helpful, and thank you for being so clear and concise. I feel like any other TH-camr would deliver the same tips but in an hour long video 😂
Watched this last night and applied it in my session today and frankly it was probably the most helpful singular video for me. It was actually crazy to see how applicable this was. Its especially helpful at a deeper level of intentionally baiting the responses they want in particular zones or expressively shutting down certain options.
It helped me a lot! Thanks, Hermit! Continue doing tip videos like this, tutorials with real examples in matchs and other stuff like "how to buff and anti-air at the same time" or about reactions against different situations, on corner, out of corner. About "How to bait your opponent with drive rush, how to predict better and make a good read, maybe about OS on real situations. "How to approach to your opponent with normals or more about the straight walk that some players do like Daigo with Guile on sfv. Shimmie on a shimmie or "How to hit confirm better or better ways to use training mode and your recourses" "How to be more unpredictable but not random" Good video, man! Jesus bless you!
i had a vague sense of this but it was much simpler. i just thought of the stage as being midscreen, or cornered. basically i combined zones 2 and 3 into one big zone called midscreeen. the simple act of splitting them may be just the mentality shift i needed, thanks!
Never really used the concept of zones really good find. I usually look for scrubby shit at certain situations that are familiar to me. Like your example that people tend to jump if they're close to the corner.
Useful information! Thinking of each stage in zones and analyzing my opponents reactions in each one respectively never occurred to me and I will apply this wisdom immediately
Its crazy now that I’m thinking about it, this sim player I was getting casuals with at this local was teleporting when he’d get close to the corner(although he’d also mix up his timings on it making it trickier for me to snipe it out) such a small detail but I think that actually makes it so much easier to find patterns in my opponent for sure gonna be keeping this in mind
It takes away from having to be aware of so much. (Mental fatigue) Just by simply walking to a different zone your mind will now turn on a switch and look for it automatically. So instead of it being on the conscious mind it's on the subconscious 🤓
Good info on the zones, & how behavior changes. Also what to do, including w/the Dhalsim & Guile example. If a person's better than me, I usually can't get them to zone 3 or 4, though. 😔Thanks for this.
This is such a useful but simple concept, its not even knowledge, just, watch what your opponent does based on where they are, which is just not something id or i bet anyone else would think to do but that just gives you so much more power over your opponent. I try to tell myself that "stupid random players" arent actually random, thay they light you up because youre stubborny trying to play thegame you want instead of adapting, and this is gonna defo help me keep that in mind
I had a similar mindset when I learned about this in V. It was the fact that I expected something at a specific zone helped be react and adapt. Glad I could be of service
Wow i am used to hitting shoryuken when people get close to the corner but didnt even consider that people would use other “panic” moves like something plus or DR. Thanks!
the great thing about this is the higher the rank the more likely people behave in this way since people have more knowledge in the game and know the danger in corner and their character's option
Good stuff! I've only mentally split the stage up to mid screen and corners. I feel like using 4 zones helps reduce the mental stack to better analyze the opponent. Thank you!
So I watched this video 9 days ago and I been practicing when I can and playing with this in mind and yea this def has help me maintain some pressure and lock down my few wins lol thx a lot this was huge for me. D3 bison
Yes this is incredibly important and helpful info. But nothing beats low rank players doing the most random things you can imagine that gets you triggered 😂
So... Let me see if I get it zones basically is the way to predict the action of the other guy, on that way you can react to keep the pressure... I'm I wrong?
Been playing for 30 years and never considered this. Hahaha. Thanks!
Words can't describe how helpful this shit is thanks bro!
Lol happy to hear that it helped
amazing video bro. Nice persona 3 music selection
I think your the first to ever say that. Iwatodai Dorm is one of my favorites from the ost

Not only did it help me, we need more in this format. Consice and informative.
Very easy to understand, too awesome not to like and share!

Great video !
That's the kind of things that we are somewhat counscious of, but putting words on it is really helpfull for playing with it in mind !

That's so cool to hear. I'm glad it helped brother 🗿

Man, you made it look so simple. Congrats on the brillant video!
Thank you thank you

Great content man, in League of Legends they teach this concept and I have never considered looking at Street Fighter the same way. Thanks!
Ouuu that's really interesting
This helps so much, I noticed this myself I but never really thought about it too much lol
You were onto something and didn't even know it🗿
Nice video well presented would love to see more like this!
coach herm back at it again
Professor Herm🤓
Good info on the zones, & how behavior changes.

Dreverzaling between zones 3-4 is diabolical. I usually do it after ive already cornered them, but ive never thought to use it immediately like this.
It will make a worlds of difference in ranked. I promise
Wow i am used to hitting shoryuken when people get close to the corner but didnt even consider that people would use other “panic” moves like something plus or DR. Thanks!
Great advice. Solid fighting theory
damn i don't think i've ever considered this, other than "ryu's in the corner so he's going to EX DP". thanks for this video!
No problem brother
the great thing about this is

since people have more knowledge in the game and know the danger in corner and their character's option
Thank you for your glorious wisdom
Ah yes, Hermit The Wise 🦉. Has a nice ring to it
@@IAmhermit it sure does, it sure does

Helpful video but anyway I loved that thumbnail lmao. Seems like it really would be rashid of all the characters that would teach a class like this.
Glad you like it. It's definitely one of my favorite thumbnails so far
This is helpful!
Glad I could help
good video!
I know this is random but I miss some of the sfv cpt stages
Indeed my friend, 😜 that is very random lol. I don't though, most of the stages a had a lot going on in the background. It messed with my eyes
good info!!
Glad it was helpful! 🗿
Yes this is incredibly important and helpful info. But nothing beats low rank players doing the most random things you can imagine that gets you triggered 😂
I will say. Some demons can't be predicted lol
This is actually a really good video. 🙂↕️🙂↕️
Funny and informative :)
Aww pshhhh stappp lol
Very cool
So... Let me see if I get it zones basically is the way to predict the action of the other guy, on that way you can react to keep the pressure... I'm I wrong?
