- In this video, we'll find out why people use cinema cameras, and I'll show you how you can get most of the benefits of a cinema camera by rigging up your mirrorless camera. In my case, the Fujifilm X-H2S.
Thanks to @RomaFedorov for the acting. Check his channel for reviews.

Such a nice rig, really love the anamorphic style, looks just so good!
Glad you enjoy it!
Very nice topic and superb footage.
A short feedback as I observed the mix up over various videos:
Mustn't= darfst nicht
dont have to=musst nicht.
Cheers and frohe Weihnachten!
Another outstanding video!
So informative and well explained. Learning so much from your channel. Thanks for this excellent content.
Wow, thanks!
can highly recommend that monitor- own it myself and is deffo best value/ nit display at the price point
Oh! Roma is here!
Best Actor, strongly recommend 🙌🏻
Very informative video mate thank you. I'm planning on buying the fujifilm x-h2s. Can u please share a link of raw footage for fuji I'd like to test and see if my computer can handle it during editing. Thank you 🙏
Nice one. I am trying to rig my X-S20 but I still need a monitor and v-mount battery to make it complete.
Did you try the Sirui Saturn line up? I also want to go the next step and I like to shoot anamorphic, but it's not easy to decide what is a good purchase
I want to set up my fuji xt4 to work as a cinima rig but I also seen sirui has the sniper lenses which are similar to the nightwalker with Autofocus, but I'm torn on the best lenses to use for film making since I'm so new to it. BTW your content rocks always a pleasure to watch your channel 👍
Thanks a lot. Sniper lenses review is coming soon :-)
Hi Pascal
Nice Build! 🙏🏻Mine looks very similiar.
Do you have any problems displaying the image (clean feed without info display) to the Viltrox monitor when shooting 6.2k Open Gate? I‘m searching for a monitor who can display it. My Desview R7 only displays it with info display from the Fuji which isn‘t usable for manual focussing…
Thanks ✌🏼
Maybe Ninja V?
Pascal, thank you for the video. What is your must have tools on camera monitor? Why is Viltrox of your choice? Can it compete with Shinobi by Atomos?
As mentioned in the video, Ninja V is better but also a lot more expensive if you only need a basic monitor and not all the other features. If you're doing client jobs, the Ninja V might be the better option.
@@pascalbasel Ninja V is a different league, i meant Shinobi to compare. Thanks
@@konstantinzahharov9211 I never used a Shinobi. Can't say anything about it.
I'm thinking about buying a Canon C100Mkii (yes in 2024). I still have the Canon R5, which is known to be able to shoot 8K raw. And yet the C100 is the better choice for video as it produces a good image (I know 1080p) but it offers everything a professional cinecam needs. DSLR/M are good, but don't offer what a good cinecam does, despite accessories
I had a problem zooming with Fuji I guess since the exposure goes in steps so the video flashes. Surprisingly I can zoom smoothly on my Nikon, which isn't known for video. Do professional film makers not zoom in? Is it considered tacky so the exposure stepping isn't an issue?
It doesn’t happen often to zoom in during a shoot. In that case, manual and cine lenses should give better results. Sucks though that Fuji doesn’t fix this issue.
Which lut die you use?
Description
Really interesting video but I think your core audience remains travel vloggers and photo/video enthousiasts. I'm not so sure they will gear up to that extent given it's clearly leaning toward bulky / heavy material reserved for profesionnals. You can keep the anamophic look you love so much on your iphone 15 pro with a 3rd party lens, but of course you won't get the same results as your X-H2s with a cine lens ;)
Yes, of course. As I mention towards the end, it would also not be my main rig. I see that as something to play around with to get new ideas and inspiration for different styles of videos.
I thought you sold your X-H2s? So you went back?
Yes, long time already.
@@pascalbasel was sind denn die Gründe das du wieder zurück bei der X-H2s bist? :D
curious as to why you returned as well…
@@nicholasmitchel Mainly size, lenses included, and Fuji colors. Nothing major really, more personal preference.
The edge that FujiFilm has over its competition is the ability to use film simulations for video because most grade their LOG and/or ProRes footage to look film-like. This saves time on editing and also on system/computer resources. Especially if you are using the very bloated Adobe PP.
