Another great review! I purchased this bag and absolutely love it! The only negative it is very heavy when packed! The only way I would take this bag on a flight is if I took a rolling bag that fits under the seat as my personal item and I could trolly this one then put this one in the overhead.
@@ItsTheKellys see, I would use it for both. I find navigating an airline aisle easier with a duffle slung over my shoulder than pulling something on wheels. And without all the restrictions of the wheel hardware you have so much more room in the same size bag. Love the structure of this bag!!
This is actually a very good review. I was wondering if the luggage sleeve zipped up and I needed a detailed explanation of the inner pockets. This answered all my questions. Thank you so much! 😊
There are very few videos that review the Monos Metro Weekender, but out of the fiew, I believe you did an excellent job going in depth with the bag and helped me make my purchase decision! Thank you!
Thanks for the review. I have been debating whether to get this or the duffel. I have the backpack but I need more space to carry on. I just read reviews that say you can use this as a personal item on Delta so I will give it a try.
I love this! Your reviews are amazing. :) I was watching a travel reel the other day, and someone was packing a shoe bag -- she said excitedly, "you can fit 7 pairs of shoes inside!" My first thought was, "Lauren K. would say "why the heck do you need 7 pairs of shoes for one trip?" Ha. I could literally hear your imaginary commentary.
As a consummate traveler who has perfected traveling with just a carry on I find watching most "influencer" travel videos hilarious. Hilarious yet at the same time I never want to deal with them in airports or hotels. People who do not know how to use a capsule wardrobe with just a pair of shoes and perhaps a casual pair of slip-on sandals are just doomed to check throughs for the rest of their lives! 😂
one more comment.. we just got our first mono hybrid medium and we also got the week-ender.. both Simi new from eBay. thank you again for your great reviews.
Yes! The liters thing is kind of crazy. An osprey backpack says it's 40L and the measurements of a Vera Bradley lay flat backpack are only one inch different, but one is 40L and the other is 27L. It's like a whole thing to see how things differ in real life.
I won't buy a bag unless the interior dimensions (litres) are posted. Just because the exterior dimensions are listed it doesn't mean that a bag such as a Vera Bradley does not take up more room with either structure or padded material.
Great review! About buying cheap and then buying again...my husband has a saying: “buy the best and only cry once!”. Yes, you can fill it with a lot of stuff, but then you have to carry it. Unless you have someone to carry it for you 😉It'll be heavy. This is why, in my opinion, I would only buy the duffle version and then drag a carryon with wheels.
Thank you for showing us the Weekender bag! I love the bottom compartment. Your videos help so much. I am updating all my luggage and couldn’t have done it without your videos! Will you do a review on the Monos Duffle bag in the future? Think I would like to get that one since the Weekender is quite large.
Love the new background and glasses. That bag looks like it would hold a lot but maybe a tad too big for me since I'm a smallish woman. Have we seen that toiletry bag?
It does not zip off completely, and it’s much bigger than the Beis. I can do a comparison one day :) I just have a lot of other Beis and Monos videos to put out before that :)
@@Rschaeper the Monos is bigger, more luxurious, and sturdier and has a bigger opening. But it is a lot more expensive and can be heavier because of the size, so those are the pros and cons really.
Loved your review! I've been looking for weeks for a weekender bag and your review helped me make a decision. But I wasn't so sure about the color choice. I ended up purchasing the Vegan leather Mahony but I'm still a bit interested in the Saddle Tan and the Juniper Green Nylon. I hope it looks as good in person as it did on your video :)
As a Leo 😊 my ego feels that you are coming over to my side of things. It seems as if you're beginning to agree that wheels just slow you down and maybe hardside isn't everything when you could look at what you can pack into a convertible or duffle weekender carry-on. I've traveled the world with a 40 litre so 47l wood feel opulent to me. But then again I never packed my bags till they're stuffed. I like the look of the vegan leather but in my experience vegan leather usually never ages well so I would probably opt for the nylon. I'm actually surprised the nylon isn't much less in weight. Someday I'll have to see if I can see these in person. I love the zippered bottom compartments on weekenders nowadays but then again I've barely used the Béis that I purchased in December (because of your influence) so I'm not really in the market at the moment. I'm so glad you are now a Monos ambassador as I really think the quality and their designs will bring change to people who have believed for years they had to pull plastic boxes on wheels through airports. Sling this baby over my shoulder and I'm good to go, passport in hand!
Thank you for such a thorough review! I'm been debating for weeks between the Monos Metro Duffel & the Weekender & your videos of both products were a big help! While I ADORE the Weekender, I didn't think about the fact that it's too large to be considered a personal item. So, if I buy the Monos Carry-On Pro (really like the front pocket...hope I won't regret it), I'd have to check it. The Metro Duffel might be the better way to go. My husband & I are going to Italy for 3 weeks next month. I've also recently started a job that'll require an overnight trip once a month & I'm thinking the Metro Duffel will be all I need. I'm 5'3" & also wonder if the Weekender would look ginormous on me.
Oh man, I really love this bag!!! But I was looking at it as a personal item to pair with a rolling carryon… Have to rethink things now. Darn! It’s so beautiful!
I’ll put it on the list! I can tell your so far that the Monos is way bigger and more sturdy. The beis is great, but is canvas material and hard to keep clean. 💗
@@ItsTheKellys I'm wondering about the shoe compartment. My shoes are up to 10" long, and I'm hoping I can put them in the compartment across the short side, not the long side (does that make sense? 😂).
@@jya811 most shoes would have to go long ways, unless they have flexible soles and can bend a little bit. My shoes are 11" long, and can fit in the Monos that way if they are sandals or flexible flats.
Hii Just purchased 2 monos luggages based on your reviews and i’m excited to get them! But just wanted to let you know that your discount code wasn’t working 🤷🏻♀️ but I did used their father’s Day discount code so I still got the discount lol But just wanted to let you know incase it was an issue on their part that you weren’t aware of
2 questions for you. I love the Monos hybrid large check in but isn’t it too heavy, even before you pack it? And I have the Monos Weekender and thinking about the backpack. Traveling to London, Paris and Portugal. Can I carry both pieces on the plane and will the backpack fit under the seat? Thanks so much. Love your channel.
If you did the weekender and the backpack, technically yes, as the weekender would be your carry on, but I personally wouldn’t use this for plane travel, it’s so big and heavy, and I’d prefer it for car travel. For large airports (especially in Europe) I’d prefer a wheeled bag. And yes, the hybrids are heavier due to their aluminum parts, but only a 1.4 pounds heavier than the regular monos, and is about the same weight as most polycarbonate luggages. (Carry on at least- I don’t check bags)
So if this is not considered a personal item, can I hook this onto the top of my monos carry on plus and be ok at the airport with these 2 for carry on? I do not want to check a bag. Just want to take the weekender and the carry on plus. Also, do you think a 42L Cotopaxi backpack would hold more than the weekender? What would be your opinion Mrs Kelly! :) Thank you!
Do you have a ticket that allows you to have two carry ons? If so, yes, but it has to fit within the airline sizes, so double/triple check! I personally am not familiar with the Cotopaxi products yet, but I’m assuming that bag is a soft nylon and has more stretch than this harder faux leather one. You just have to think of it with all of the goodies, and which features you prefer :)
I'm traveling to Paris on United and then onto Portugal on Air France. I love this weekender but wondering if there is a chance they would ever make me check the bag, because it looks so big. I wouldn't think so because I can compress it more than carry on luggage but that's my only concern. If I had to check it the contents wouldn't be protected and both my belongings and the bag would be damaged. Oh and wondering why they didn't include feet on the bottom of the bag so it doesn't rest on the dirty floor:( Thanks for the great reviews.
So I ordered the Weekender in Ivory and used it only once but I'm regretting the colour now because the Tan is more my vibe. I've been trying to order the Tan but it's always sold out and won't come back in stock until April 30 which is unfortunately too close to my month-long trip. Now I know that Monos has been giving away bags instead of focusing on the customers who actually are willing to buy it . Can't keep their own inventory in stock but willing to give away these bags to make paying customers frustrated. As well as the horrible return policy they have that charges you for return shipping. I'm starting to rethink this company hmmm.
@@ItsTheKellys Do you have it in tan? I have the backpack in tan so hoping to get the same colour. It's odd but in your video, the Mahogany looks light and Tan coloured. But the website looks so much darker.
