  • I recently purchased a used sawmill that I used to mill my own lumber to build a lean-to on the side of our storage shed.
This will give us more storage space for our bigger vehicles and will give me more space to work inside the shed.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! Let me know if you have specific things you would like to see more of.

Thank you for being one of the few people on youtube to use chaps while sawing. I highly recommend the stihl helmet with the face-shield and ear protection. It has saved my face, noggin and hearing on more than once.
Yeah, Tulip Poplar isn't the best buiding/structural wood; weak, but if you keep it dry, it'd be fine herringboning an interior wall. I chip up Tulip Poplar to build soil with.
Have you considered charring the ends of your posts?
Those cedar stumps and roots would be full of resin to coat the charred post ends into for an extra barrier of rot resistance. That of course requires making a charcoal kiln.

How has this held up a few years later? I am looking to do something very similar on my pole barn.

Does cedar do ok for direct ground contact?
