The Ted Lasso series is the best TV show in many years! Ted and Coach Beard are unbelievable, but the whole cast, the script, they just put a smile on my face. I always watch it twice, once on Friday, repeat for Saturday. I didn't think that they would be up for the Emmys, it just seemed like a show for everyone, without any claims for awards, but they do deserve it tenfold.
Must be cool being a fan of Monty Python then working with Hannah who originated the Lady of the Lake role in Spamalot in London and was also in the Broadway version and is friends with Eric Idle 😍
I knew him from Key & Peele and the hitchhiker from Community. It is great how he is getting more and more appreciated these days as it is a delight to see humble and great personalities from this industry gaining success. Also, seeing this interview now, last week's episode makes more and more sense. Anyway, Jesus loves marijuana!

LOL the fact that Brendan pretended to have an English accent as a teen and then in his episode he fakes an accent while they were playing those guys in pool 😂 seems like his real life has somewhat inspired his character
How did the writers know that Brendan can really hula hoop in real life? Did he tell everyone or did he just suggest there should be a hula hoop added to the dance?
His outfit was inappropriate though - it's morning dress, which you would wear for a daytime event like a wedding. He should be wearing evening dress because it was an evening event, hence everyone else wearing dinner jackets.
If you haven’t seen it it’s a show about an American football coach that goes to London to coach a Premier League team. It’s sounds stupid and ridiculous. But it is simply brilliant.
I pretended I was Australian when I worked at the St Charles Country Club outside Chicago when I was 14 & 15, But I actually lived in Australia before that :P
How do you distinguish between an English accent, an Australian accent, South African accent? I guess to the untrained ear they all sound so similar when you’re first meeting someone. It’s hard for me to decipher exactly where the accent is from
The way to do that is to…..not be American lol. I’m joking but sort of not lol it seems Americans are particularly bad with accents outside of their country so I’ve just assumed you are
The more you hear it, the easier it is. I can differentiate between regional accents now because of how much English and Australian/NZ TV i’ve watched over the years.
@@kJ922-h3j you’re kind of right,I guess about the American part, but I really think it has a lot to do with exposure. I cannot think of one person from elementary school all the way through college that was from England South Africa war Australia so I wasn’t really exposed to it and I’ve never been to those countries. But I can easily distinguish if someone is from Guatemala, Mexico, Dominican republic, Puerto Rico, Spain, Argentina.. I almost always get it right when I listen to them speaking. If I can hear the person say “no” I can usually tell if it’s an English or Australian accent.
The South Eastern English accent is very similar to Australian so, if you’re not from Britain or Oz I can imagine it is very difficult to tell the difference. We even share a lot of the same slang. When I was in the US, everyone thought I was Australian because I said ‘mate’ a lot, which both us and the Aussies do all the time. South African is a bit softer and has a sort of Dutch inflection. A lot of South Africans spend time in the UK and their accents tend to get a lot more English sounding when they live here for a while so it can be really hard to detect if you’re not from here or SA. The only real way of distinguishing is to hear a lot of them and eventually you’ll start to notice the differences.
@@themripley That's funny, because as a New Yorker w/lots of British friends, it sounds pretty terrible to me. I'm not even sure what region I would attribute it to? But you ratio'd me hard so perhaps I am clueless.
I 've known Brendan for over 30 years (went to college with my brother), and he has ALWAYS been funny. So happy for this moment for him.
Go birds baby
That's so nice
Really cool. You should reach out to him, ask if he remembers you (which of course he will).
Good for you bud, this must feel all kinds of fulfilling, nostalgic, and just plain nice
He seems like a nice guy..
I'm convinced Brendan will win an emmy next year for the season 2 episode, "Beard after hours". He was incredible.
He's a lock.
That was probably the only episode I didn't love. It was too off the wall compared to the other episodes.
Him and Juno should win next year

So true but I'm glad we get to hear more words from the man himself
Anyone who’s watched the latest episode of Ted Lasso knows this man is truly a brilliant actor
A beautiful homage to the very underrated Scorsese film After Hours.
That episode was weird. It was great to have a focus on coach Beard, but I just felt it did not fit the show.
@@helderdacosta4699 that's what I liked about it. Why paint by the numbers? It would be easy to just stick to the script.

Beard’s perfect understanding of Ted is an icing to this phenomenal show!
In the Romcom episode when Roy says ‘shut up you had me at coach’ beards reaction is perfect 😍
As a Brit, I found the premise silly ....until I saw it and brilliant. Glad Lasso learned real Football. layered and interesting and funny.

The Beard After Hours episode was brilliant.
Based on Scorsese’s movie of the same name
This episode was probably one of the best this season and made me cry about three times two of which I cried very hard
That's every episode lol

That Irish accent he done in the latest episode is lethal 🤣
His English accent in this interview is hella good as well!
Kimmel allowing his interviewees to talk. And he pull the loop closed at the end. Well done!
Absolutely love coach beard!
Shoulda wore the pants from the last ep with that top hat 🔥
He wore them at the post Emmy party

He's very funny! And you can tell so not only with this interview but in the show itself. He has comedy in his veins.
After the last ep I know one thing for sure, that man knows his way around a rave.
Definitely a Burner! 🔥
