Thanks for the review. Can you still use the Godox-mount when the Bowens mount adapter is attached? It looks like you can. Am I correct? You don't have to detach the Bowens mount adapter in order to use Godox mount stuff?
I'm not a fan of unboxing videos, but as an owner of 3xAD200's and one AD600 unit, as well as 2xAD360s, I'm pretty excited for this flash. And your video was as good as it gets in the realm of unboxing videos. I ordered one from Adorama and am eager to test it out.
@@MRNYCBX718 Great question. I love using the AD200s for their reasonable price and versatility, but for the money the AD400Pro is my favorite. I will often use the AD400Pro as the main or key light for headshots and/or portraits, and AD200s as accent lights, to very satisfactory effect. Since my above comment my inventory has remained stable, and I feel well equipped for nearly any need.
does ttl work with sony now or does it have the same issue as all other godox flash? all other godox flash underexpose with anything greater than F4(f3, f2.8, f1.8 and f1.4).
Hey there Dennis! The AD400Pro does come with the battery charger which Godox states that it can doubles as AC power while plugged in! On the box it states that "... lithium battery pack, which can be placed with AC power source to achieve AC-DC dual purpose" Through our testing, it appears that it does work! However this may degrade the battery life by just a little. Godox should be releasing an AD-AC for this unit shortly, like they have for both the AD600B and AD600Pro. Thanks!
Can the AD400 pro out power the sun? Or should I go towards the ad600 pro. I need help! I do shoot outside a lot and really want it for beach sunset shots and I want to overpower the sun.
Hi there Adam, During our shoot we had ours plugged in and it was still shooting normally. Thanks!
Hi Luka, the fan icon/noise and umbrella holder remains consistent with the AD600Pro which is why it wasn't mentioned. Fan noise is only evident when using the LED modelling lamp at higher outputs. The fan increases in speed (as well as noise) the higher the output.
Interchangeable lighting modifier mounts of Bowens, Profoto, Elinchrom and Broncolor (when released), Colour stable mode with +/- 75k similar to the AD600Pro and overall just a more streamlined 400W unit. A double AD200 setup is still versatile setup if you require multiple lights on a shoot.
He mentions the plastic protector that fits over the bulb, I watched another video on this and I think you will find the cover wont fit with the bulb in place. It will however fit with the cover from the ad600 this is something that needs looking at. I don't think this guy had the kit out of the box to check before doing the video and actually try the cover, if he had he would have seen it did not actually fit with the bulb attached.
Hi there! I can confirm that the protector cap definitely does fit with the bulb in place. The unit was designed so that the included reflector, bulb and protector cap can all be fitted on at the same time so that you don't need to remove the bulb while travelling. Edit - Now if you're referring to when the Bowens adapter is installed, the Godox mount reflector/protector cap that is provided will not mount nor fit. This was never stated. If the Bowens adapter is installed only the Godox AD-R9 or other Bowens reflectors will suit. If you would like we can send you an email with a photo/video attached to show how it all works! Thanks!
@@hypop actually it does fit. You need to just pop off the bottom of the reflector/ protector cap. It actually splits into 3 pieces so then you just use the reflector that clicks onto the Bowen's mount and then put the cap on that. I'm surprised so many people haven't figured this out lol
@@jakeMFbacon Hey Jake, You are correct! Soon after this video was released, Godox created new models of the AD400Pro that incorporated the 3-piece reflector. The one used for this video was part of the first batch, which had the original reflector which would not allow this function. Hope this clears everything up! TEAM HYPOP
Very bad experience As per product specifiaction, it should provide 380 full power pops. But it is providing only 220-230 pops only even if the battery is fully charged

where and how do U plug in B-charger ???????????????????????????????????????
Can I use both mounts or does fitting the Bowen’s mount stop you from using the godox mount ?
Great video, thanks for sharing all your knowledge
Glad it was helpful!
Can the ad400 pro battery charge while in use?
Good Product from godox.
Agreed!
The AD600PRO does come with a carry case and a handle. I have one.

Hi Tom, If using the X1T-S transmitter, the V16 firmware update appears to have addressed this issue: www.godox.com/EN/Download.html
Can elinchrom softboxes be mounted on this?
Does the AD400Pro also have the cabled AC adapter, to shoot in the studio?

Is this true? I've found mixed statements.
Does it bypass the battery this way? I.e. would it work with a completely empty battery if you've just plugged it in?
hi I bought it yesterday, but the flash does not work

Most people say it can. Its only about 1/2 stop less light output than the ad600 pro because its more efficient
Ya you should be fine

Hi there!
We have these ones up for $979.99 and ready to send out immediately!
Thanks.
Where did you come up with that price? Even the AD600PRO is $899.00.
Australian Dollar.

What is the advantage of this over the double ad200 ?

The AD200 has HSS up to 1/8000 shutter speed!
