I still have my childhood Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Batman. A few years ago I bought the rest of the figures and the Batmobile and Supermobile. I feel fortunate to get them including a complete Cyborg before prices went into the stratosphere.
My older brother had that comic with the first appearance of Luthor’s battle suit and the new Brainiac. We got some comics off a spinner rack when we were visiting our grandmother and that’s one he picked. I wasn’t into Superman at all so I probably just read it because I was bored, but I thought both redesigns were badass. I loved Marvel and would only occasionally get a Batman comic. If I remember right, the Super Powers figures came out at about the same time as the Marvel Secret Wars figures. I do remember hating having to admit that the Super Powers figures were way better. I never got any because I was true to Marvel, but they were very cool.
Yes, Secret Wars figures came out around the same time. I actually had a couple of Secret Wars figures as a kid, but no Super Powers despite being more of a DC fan. I'm not sure how that happened!
I had most of wave 1 of the Super Powers line, when I was a kid. Today, I own the first two waves as well as the Hall of Justice, Batmobile, Supermobile, Lexor 7 and carrying case. I also own most of the mini comics, as well. This line was one of my absolute favorites when I was a kid and it it still is today, almost 40 years later.
It really is an amazing line with quite a few first appearances of characters as action figures! It sounds like you have quite a collection! That's awesome!
I too, own almost exactly what you have..loved this line as a kid...I just need lex to finish wave 1..I sold my figures years ago...now I'm buying em back...haha...love it💯💯💯💯
Ironically, this past year I've been looking at this figure line trying to learn more about it.
After seeing pictures of the Green Arrow figure packed with two little arrows, that made me want it even more.
What a great looking figure!
I was able to get the easier to find figures. I never found a Lex or Brainiac. Wonder Woman was another one I was never able to find. I loved this line. I had a paper route and bought my own figures at the time
Great looking figure, 1984/1985, had some of the best toys 🎯
Definitely a great time to be a kid!
I never had them but remember seeing them and wishing they had been available when I was a little younger.
I'm right there with you! I don't know why I didn't have any though because I was still young enough to have picked them up. I guess I was just so blinded by GI Joe that I never got these guys.
I had this guy as a kid...I thought he was boring....now I appreciate him..super powers are still one of the best lines ever...great stuff
Definitely an Awesome line!!!
Really enjoyable vid. A little bit of Lex Luthor history plus and nice looking fig. What an amazing toy line this was. One of the most popular I would think. thanks for sharing 👍😎
The Super Powers line is easily one of my favorite lines of Superhero toys! I just wish I'd finished collecting the line before prices got to be so high!
Cool presentation, details and photography of your figures in these videos. Nicely done!
The only figure I had as a kid was the Robin figure, but it was on the gold card of the BATMAN(89) line from TOY BIZ.
I've always wanted some of these figures as a kid.
The figures I want the most are the Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman, Clark Kent.
I honestly don't know too much about many super heroes, as I didn't grow up reading comics as a kid, but I've always had an immense love for action figures.
I thought I wanted this Lex Luthor figure before .. I had NO idea about the button on his back!
That. Is. AWSOME! :)
THANK YOU! and thank you for making this video
That Robin that came on the GOLD card is actually a different figure. The button on his back isn't on this guy and the head sculpts are slightly different. Also that version has metal pins in the knees while this one has plastic which are hidden by the way the knee was manufactured. But they are super similar!

Yep, I want 'em both. :)
Great fig. :)
Thank you and RIP, George Perez. 🙏
Such a huge loss in the comic book world!
It made sense theey finally put him in some sort of battle suit so he could take on Superman on some capacity.
I agree, but I think the idea before the suit was, "Is a man with no powers and a great BRAIN any match for Superman?"
I never had the action figures but I did go watch the TV shows even though the show was towards the end of Saturday morning and a lot of times it would get pre-emptive for sports but it was still cools I like the parachute I think it's interesting that Lex Luthor wants to go toe-to-toe Superman
i have trouble disliking this toy. i didnt have it until later but its really cool.
The entire Super Powers line was just a wonderful line of action figures!
@@WeHadThat yes. even the characters i dont know much about. so appealling.
cant wait for the mcfarlane super powers!
@@camcordernonsense5264 I haven't seen any of the new ones in the stores yet.
your lex looks angry. mine looks happy.
It's wild to me that the little differences (or flaws) in an action figure can give them so much character!
@@WeHadThat im wondering if theyre the same head and different paint locations.
@@camcordernonsense5264 Just a slight variance in the paint can make a world of difference on a small action figure face!
Dude i love the Super Powers line and i did have a Lex like this i just use him to make a custom of the Super Friends Lex and the body i used to make Captain Cold custom
That's great! I wish there had been a Captain Cold in the Super Powers line!
@@WeHadThat yeah bro it would have been cool if they would had made more to the line and added some from the super friends
@@jeremyburdge8573 I include some of the Kenner Swamp Thing figures with my Super Powers...and Riddler from the DC Super Heroes line.
@@WeHadThat Same here bro but i would not be hard to make a custom of the Green Lantern Riddler though lol
@@jeremyburdge8573 That's true! I'd thought about it, but I don't have the same customizing skills that you have!
