We need more games where you fight the previous game's protagonist and their whole intact moveset is used against you. Because that kind of dedication to detail is honestly more valuable than how many pores are visible on a character's face nowadays.

They're cool movesets but come on, Vergil shouldn't be to character archetypes with what Dark Souls is to game genres.
Yep, and there are a few other weapons that deal extra damage to certain bosses. For example, Oror's Lionblade does extra damage to Gismor when you fight him the second time (when he's using two swords), and Oror's Falconblade does extra damage to Gismor when you fight him in the District Of Heavenly Time.
I love the theme of this fight. It's not sad cause you're fighting the previous game's protagonist; Caim was never a hero. It's sad because it's mourning the tragedy of his life, mourning the good man he was before the fall of Caerleon. It's sad, because Caim's life is a harsh lesson in how someone can be broken by hardship.
Caim reminds me of the people in my country who have lost everything because of the Nacos. people become vengeful and don't care if they massacre these demons
I love when a previous beloved protagonists of previous games become bosses that new protagonists have to fight, I love even more when they're potrayed as super strong and even winning the mission as a new protagonists doesn't mean you've beaten him

Yoko Taro confirmed he would like to go back to work on the Drakengard series. Funny how Neir got him into the spotlight but I loved Drakengard all along. In fact I was way late finding out about Nier. It was out for awhile and I didn't know it existed. I hope Square will work with him on it. Especially providing encouragement and support. Yoko taro said if the lead producer gave him the green light he would. I found out about Nier through Clemps. I would be happy if Drakengard 1 and 2 had remakes that were redone and more fleshed out. With gameplay, voice acting/script. Full CG cut scenes (looking at you Drakengard 2). I want to see a return of Caim. I love Caim. Why did Drakengard 3 depart so much? From the original narrative. I loved the method of story telling from 1 and of course the dragons. God I hope some earnest progress happens with the Drakengard series. I would love for it to gain spotlight. Then there will be Merchandise 💓

Favorite series besides GTA when I was younger with my PS2. I'm so glad I got to play these games. They seemed so much more advanced and beautiful, graphically than I see them now lmao. Caim and the Dragons were fucking awesome.

I can not help but feel that Caim is weaker than I have given him credit for. And that is strange seeing how he is able to kill a dragon in sword combat.
I think it has more to do with skill than raw power, Caim is just really good at fighting and knows a lot of magic, plus you supposedly get super powerful when you make a pact with a dragon. In terms of power the Red Dragon is by far the most powerful character in the trilogy seeing as she can nuke cities casually(obviously not counting the Queen Beast who pretty much destroyed all of Nier's world) and Caim beat her one on one. Urick tossing him off the edge here had to be just luck honestly, he was in the right place in the right time.

I am however unsure on Rose and her intoner flower power as it seem to give her a lot of power, and perhaps more of a problem speed. Nove and his dragon power is also probably at least a massive pain. I do not know how Caim would beat him if the dude took to the skies. Same with any dragon. Caim, at least I do not think. Can fly on his own. Unless he has some force field, then Caim would die real soon I believe to normal gun fire. >.> But guns disappear I suppose in nier, so I guess that is not too big a problem. Caim is extremely weak against Tornado magic from Dream Blossom. I hate having to fight him for such a long period, Tornado makes short work of him. Only possible on new game+ which is fair enough since the magic is so powerful against Caim.

He is only important as "the man who saved Nowe".
Even after playing all 3 Drakengard games, I still think Caim is easily the 3rd strongest Drakengard character (besides newbreed Nowe and holy Legna for obvious reasons). In ending D and E of his own game, he manages to single handedly take down dozens of watchers single handedly, and just fyi, all of the angel bosses in Dod3 are singular watchers, and you know how much trouble those gave Zero. He and Angelus are also able to straight up kill the flower powered queen beast that Mikhail could apparently only seal away.
Mikhail sealed the flower itself, Caim and Angelus only killed the beast that was possessed by it. To be fair it's not like they could do much before dying to missiles.

Why does he think the Seals were there ? He's free to fight for rights, but at least understand the consequences; -They made Seere dirty. He was way more pro-active in the first game; -The soundtrack was SO basic. The other ones of the franchise are so chaotic, but alive and varied in emotion ! And then there's this game's basic one. They're something you can find in litterally any fantasy game; -This game contradicts some lore such as Dragon's evolution. We discover in a novel they're the Watchers. Or rather, Watchers that disobeyed. They are not separate entities; -God is not whimsical. God sees us as imperfect, that's His gist to destroy us through out the saga. That piece of dialogue from Legna removes all complexity and power behind that character and His motivation. The dark characters mixed with a ruthless yet transhumanly orderly have the whole point of making us, the players, question if the people in the games are worth saving and getting a better ending...or if you want to be done with them.
