Bro i watched the show and honestly i am sorry but only a handful of episodes are good the first episode is terrible, batman disappears for a few episodes and after a while it really just becomes a chore finishing the rest . Sorry bro the show falls flat.

I actually forgot this show came out. Watched it until I saw The Penguin was a female. Turned it off instantly. Ppl are tired of this. Iconic characters don’t need to be swapped. It’s lazy & annoying at this point. If you are a Batman fan and you like it cool. If you are a Batman fan and you don’t like it cool. Just go watch the old cartoons.

I'm not watching Batman: The Cucked Crusader episode 1. It's not your ordinary Batman. It's a work that takes everything and messes it up. You only see about 10% of Batman in the series, while they focus on how to hook up Montoya and Harley, because apparently they had a secret chemistry relationship. Meanwhile, Barbara Gordon is a lawyer trying to take on the patriarchy. Two-Face is really two-faced; he literally is a one-sided character before he becomes who he is, so he's not even two-faced. Penguin, well, she said it clearly: this will be a modern take. So, if you watch episode 1, you will immediately put it down. Batman: The Cucked Crusader? I will never watch it.

@@jaredmartin8760 No, they saved it. Batman has been a joke since after Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Changing a couple characters doesn’t affect the quality of the show. This Batman show feels like a mature version of the cartoons from when I was a kid. DC feels like DC again, not Marvel 2.0.

Just watched first episode they should have made the penguin a new character rather than a girl that doesn’t fit the short dumpy demeanor of penguin she’s more of a showman and batman mythos can always use a new character rather than try to make her fit into an already established one
I would tend to agree; Penguin’s gender swap and Gordon’s race swap are meaningless changes. But that’s also why I don’t care so much, they’re such inconsequential changes. They have no impact on the story, and people are making way too big of a deal over them. Watch the whole first season, I guarantee you’ll end up liking it like I did.

@@JetteAMT then they shouldn’t need to do them. Keep characters original. It’s also super goofy to have a show so painstakingly depict the noir era of the 30’s and 40’s and yet still has to insert the lens of progressivism to frame the world it’s at odds with. It’s so forced and corny.
I really dont like retconning characters, theres not a lot of redheaded geeky female super heroes, or short fat male villains, the Irish descent of Jim Gordon (with all the discrimination he would have faced) is an important aspect of his character.

It has probably been brought up but if you take a look at the action board behind I believe her name is Martinez she was Bullocks' partner in the animated series there is a picture of Bat-Man from one of the first comics from the 30s I stopped the trailer just to make sure and it looks like it . Also the fat guy with the neck collar that's Bullock.
Great video. Batman: Caped Crusader is so damn good. It has that feel of Batman: TAS, noir style, but more geared towards adults. It's different, but in a good way. Enjoyed it from beginning to end. It's not perfect but it doesn't have to be. It's entertaining and that's what's important.

Nah, I legitimately don't understand why, it's a very pointless change because Penguin doesn't really have a big impact on Batman, and never has.
It's just a questionable change, same with Gordon's race swap (at least that one makes sense though, as it's in keeping with the live action Gordon from the 2022 movie).

Hey man thank you for expressing your opinion. There so many unnecessary haters for this show that it kind of reminds me of the time when season 1vof My adventures of Superman came out. I like this version of Bstman because unlike the garbage that was btafleck he is an actual dective that uses sneak attacks.

I don't mind the race swap for Gordon but I definitely want to see what they do with the fact he's black. They don't have to but discrimination stories are important lessons in life imo
@@Mediocrityexe considering Gordon’s comic counterpart is Irish and experienced discrimination for it, I think it’d suit his character if they did include something about that. I think him facing discrimination for being black is a lot more relevant and applicable to modern society, than making a new version of Irish Gordon and having him be discriminated against for that. It worked back in the time when Batman was first made, but it doesn’t make sense in 2024. For that reason I actually like the change, I think it makes sense.

...the _real_ Batman in the face. This show is a parasite feeding off of the member-berries of the past. It offers nothing new, interesting, or unexpected (especially from Jar Jar Abrams), nor does it pay the necessary respect to the original it so vainly attempts to copy.
@@Tundra. I disagree. It definitely offers something new. It’s showing us an earlier Batman, and way more information on the villains, and the lore in general, in Batman-which are two things most of the comics, shows, and movies are lacking.

This showed up in my feed. I hope, for the creator’s sake, that this is a joke, or he is being sarcastic.
We have race-swapping, and gender-swapping. All the women are geniuses, and all the men are idiots.
For a show called “Batman: The Caped Crusader”, it doesn’t focus much on Batman. Rather, it is the adventures of Barbara Gordon, and detective Montoya. Now, I don’t mind that, but don’t name the show about a character who is peripheral to the story, at best.
Batman is saved from death by Barbara several times (and gets gassed unconscious twice?). He only manages to “solve” some cases by bugging the police. This is not the “World’s Greatest Detective” I know.
Bruce Wayne is a short-tempered, cruel man, not at all like the Batman I have been familiar with over my past 50+ years reading and watching the character. Classic Bruce Wayne is a bit of a fop, a ladies man, but cares deeply for Gotham, and its people. He treats Alfred like a servant, rather than the man who cared for him, and raised him in his parent’s absence.
It’s mentioned that he has a known, generous, “slush fund” for “stuff” that Lucius Fox is aware of, but isn’t allowed to look into, which suggests that Bruce is funnelling lots of money into tech and gadgets to fight crime. But you don’t see it. He has a handful of custom vehicles, a grapple gun, and some Batarangs, which are hardly used. That’s it.
It’s questionable as to whether his presence in the stories would have made any difference to many of the outcomes.
This is a bad show, and comparing it to previous animated series is just insulting those series that came before.
I am all for strong, diverse characters in shows, but not at the expense of making such drastic changes to established characters.
I could go on, but can’t see the point…

And for anyone saying that this show makes Batman a side character I have 2 points about that.
1. They are focused on the other side of Batman which is his Bruce Wayne side which I think most modern day Batman media doesn't focus enough on.
2. Everybody knows enough about Batman but they don't really know much about the side characters that surround the Batman mythos which I love.

I don't understand the hate for this show, it was really good.
Early career Batman is basically a myth and I'd argue the minimal use of Batman in this show adds to the mythical "is he real?" aspect of Batman.

I don't see why they didn't adapt those into movies I mean people can rip the watchman all they want But neither did do a good job of lifting it From paper to a movie. I mean cut the 1st half hour out of the killing joke movie And it was all right. I guess my point is I agree with you there's a lot of DC animated That would have made kick-ass live action too
@@leethecomedian 100% agreed. Flashpoint Paradox would’ve made a great live action, but CW neutered it to make it suitable for kids, when it was supposed to be a serious, mature storyline.

Voice acting...top notch? It isn't Kevin Conroy so that's instantly wrong, rip. From what little I've seen so far though it's not bad at least, though his ears are way too big lol.

@@mwesten6344 what i mean by "thats the fucking point" is that the design is supposed to resemble batman's appearance from his debut in comics. thats why the ears are large and the gloves end at his wrists. Batman's suit has never been about practicality, even in the movies which i assume you're more familiar with since you made that assumption. if it were about practicality, he wouldn't have a bat symbol on his chest, or a belt that is any color other than black. Batman is a superhero.

@@micejoint132 Thanks for the explanation, I am familiar with the original comic book iteration and I was never overly fond of that look, much the same as many others since they clearly evolved his look away from that over the years, but I can still respect the homage thanks for pointing that out :). Also I'm just someone who likes a little credibility and realism to my comic book characters as it's more immersive for me that way, and practically speaking the bat symbol has been explained ad nauseum at this point in every single version, movies/comics etc and I wouldn't be a fan if I couldn't accept that. Again I'm sure I'm not alone, and this is just my opinion and personal preference as I said which I am entitled to as you are also.
