Jonathan no it’s not loud at all. It’s got a nice growl to it, but it’s not overbearing. You can definitely hear the exhaust tone but it’s subtle. I put the dynomax bullet 24215 on mine.
Hayden Jundt thanks for replying back soon because I ordered my dynomax bullet and it should be coming in tomorrow so I’ll be taking my car to the exhaust shop to have it installed. Having the mid muffler deleted only sounds good but still sounds stock which is what I have at the moment.
Same thing happened with my TL dude at the shop said the magnaflows wouldn’t do anything. So i left and did it my self the next weekend and made a world of a difference. Resonator and mid delete with magnaflows in the rear
I did a full muffler and resonator delete, from the cats back it is straight piped. It sounds crazy and is hella loud. I can send you some videos if you want. I’m planning on throwing a resonator on for the drone and a little bit of the raspy sound eventually.
It's better the way you did it. Dont wory about putting a resonator on it. You still have 3 catalytic converters that hold back power. Trust me ive done many different routes Im on my 3rd TL Type S
I've been running ATLP V2-R J-pipe to 3-inch stainless non resonated custom made mid pipe to stock rear mufflers and I couldn't be happier. I haven't seen a rear muffler setup that I like that looks better than the OE Type-S setup so I'm keeping it that way. Back in it's day it had the nicest looking factory exhaust IMO. I started with mid muffler/resonator deletes too. I felt like that's how the Type-S should've came from the factory sounding to differentiate it even more over the non Type-S models. FYI sounds like your O-ring on the return line on your p/s pump is sucking in air causing the noise. If you see a lot of bubbles/foam in your reservoir I bet that's the culprit. Gets louder at lower temps I bet. I replace mine almost every 3 yrs and keep on rolling.

I wouldn’t delete the Pre-Cats or the 3rd cat without a bung. Deleting the Pre-Cats or Resonator will make it sound terrible with all the raspiness. My setup is 3rd cat delete, Dynomax Resonator, Mid-Muffler still on, rear muffler delete, sounds fantastic.

2007 Type-S here; have an XLR8 quad cat-back exhaust and their V2 J-Pipe. The exhaust is almost like a hybrid between a Nissan GT-R and a Lamborghini Gallardo, sounds amazing. The J-Pipe made better low end torque for city driving but pulls much harder when VTEC kicks in. It's kinda loud inside without a resonator (you can get it either with one premade or weld a Mangaflow one after) but I've gotten used to it. Easily the most enjoyable mods I've done to the TL.
I personally love my xlr8 resonated on my type s. No drone at all. Its not obnoxiously loud cruising around and its loud when you get on it and want it to be loud, but exhaust is all personal preference at the end of the day.
Definitely get that Dyno Resonator put in. it might be awkward going back to the same guy so I would recommend going to somebody else with good reviews.

Mannnn that's the SAME damn thing they tried telling me at a whole other muffler shop. Said swapping one resonator for another was basically taking one step forward then one step backward. Not in it for the 'maximum' amount of "noise". I like to think of it as ... "tuning the tone" :D
I deleted everything after the headers back added a vibrant resonator and 2.5ed everything to the back, sounds like a beast surprisingly not crazy loud but when you step on it or down shift you can feel it
If you get a catback, look at ATLP from heeltoe automotive. Heeltoe is based outside of Portland. Marcus will hook you up. I have ATLP catback installed on my type s and it has a nice deep sport tone with no rasp.

i got the dynomax 24215 resonator and its pretty good on startup and quites down as you drive, not too aggressive and rasp what so ever. Mid muffler was also deleted. Thinking of deleting the rears, but not sure yet

Honestly, i hate the rasp. Im looking at a full catback system, but my exhaust is dead stock for the moment. I don't want to start playing, and muff it up, and be forced to buy a catback and not have my stock for later, or for emissions inspections. Im not planning on running cats, so can't chop the original exhaust up too much.
Yea funny i just uploaded a video with the dynomax and to be honest after months of research i perfer my stock resonator over this dynomax so far. First time However i too took off resonator completely and straight piped it and it sounded great until I got about 30 40 miles per hour and started the sound a little too ricey for me so I put my stock resonator back on
The mechanic was so stubborn about doing the job.

Delete all the mufflers and install a Jpipe. Won’t regret it. Did it to my TL and she sounds amazing. All I get is compliments for how my car sounds.

For resonator i used a Magnaflow and it sounds amazing nice and deep
On mine I replaced the resonator with the Dynomax and deleted the Mid Muffler. Mine has no rasp at all and sounds great!

I can hear some slipping between shifts. Have you removed the clutch delay valve? One of the best driving mods.

Did you delete the mid muffler or the rear too? ( I know the resonator got deleted )
On my 4th gen all i did was the muffler delete and sounds almost like yours ima delete both the ones u did hopefully its sounds good nice car
Have an 04 acura tl deleted both resonators and sounds great.

That a muffler shop that fixes muffles... you should go to the one that are actually a “exhaust” shop
Did any o2 sensors go off when you did the mid muffler and resonator delete

Honestly, i hate the rasp. Im looking at a full catback system, but my exhaust is dead stock for the moment. I don't want to start playing, and muff it up, and be forced to buy a catback and not have my stock for later, or for emissions inspections. Im not planning on running cats, so can't chop the original exhaust up too much.

Yea funny i just uploaded a video with the dynomax and to be honest after months of research i perfer my stock resonator over this dynomax so far. First time However i too took off resonator completely and straight piped it and it sounded great until I got about 30 40 miles per hour and started the sound a little too ricey for me so I put my stock resonator back on
