this microstock thing is a business if you don't treat it like a business you won't see the progress you have shared 14 years of experience in this field not everybody can do that congratulation, and also you showed us that you have to be patient because this business is related to creativity and not anyone can do it or gifted in this area.
Hello, and thanks for the very wise comment. This will be my 16th year in microstock, and it does take patience. You have to be willing to watch and study what works, see what customers want and what they don't, and use your creativity to meet those needs better than others. Then you have to make your work easy to find with smart keywording. And grow your portfolio over time with consistent uploads. But I do believe that if I could do it, other people willing to go on this journey and not expecting to get rich overnight can do it as well. Best of luck to you!
Being a graphic and 3d designer myself how much time it will take me to make my 1st 1 million$ if I follow all advice you give in your corse I see 16 years to reach 1m$ a very long period?
Hi, there are certainly a lot of factors to consider. I have done this on the side of having a normal job, so just focusing between 30 and 90 minutes a day. I could have probably got to 1 million sooner if I did this full time. (It took me more like 12 years, as I am now at 1.5 million.) The bigger problem is that competition is so much greater than 15 years ago, and AI makes it easier to flood the agencies with large portfolios quickly. That might help you amass a lot of work to sell, but many others are doing the same. Most of the agencies are earning me far less than they were about five years ago. Dreamstime, 123RF and other mid-tier agencies were earning me over $1,000 a month each, but now are well under $100. Shutterstock used to earn $2 - $3K monthly for me, but now earns me closer to $500. Adobe Stock is the only one that has consistently grown. I think if I were starting today as a side hustle, doing everthing the same way, I would probably need more like 20 years to get to 1 million. Anyway, I hope this is helpful, and best of luck to you!
No, I think the people who need images want exactly what they need right now, and don't want to figure out where to go (sites like Midjourney) and how to write a great prompt (there's still skill involved in this) and experiment until they get the perfect image. Plus, even if they took all these steps, if they want the image for commercial use (and most customers do), they will have to pay Midjourney or whatever AI site they are using a fee. At least for the near future, customers will still prefer to do a quick search on an agency like Adobe and be presented with a lot of great options, and quickly download the one that's right for them, even if it costs them a few dollars. Thanks for the question, and best of luck!
Thank you! My forced shortfall in Storyblocks ensures it will be far worse, but I'm still doing well at Adobe and Ok at Shutterstock so it is still very much worth the time. Here's wishing you a great 2024 as well!
I also uploaded some AI Content to Adobe Stock, it took them a long time, then within a short time i had a sale. So i may uploaded about or exactly 50 AI Pictures, very good pictures, but the earnings arent that big. So now i should have over 10 USD only for some Downloads. So imagine i had to pay more fore the AI Creation service: Midjourney. So now i dont have the profit that i want.. maybe later. now i use a free ai image creator service. Hopefully i also get some K`s...
Hi, thanks for watching and for the comment. It definitely takes some time to build your portfolio and some momentum, and as I've talked about in many of my videos, it's all about choosing high commercial value topics to focus on. What themes are your AI images covering? And what free AI image creator service are you using? Is it one that gives you commercial use for free? Best of luck to you!
why adobe is just keep on rejecting my images even they are of really good quality, I generated about 12 variations of the images and kept the similar titles , is this could be a reason of rejection?
Hi, sorry to hear you're seeing so many rejections. Of course, I don't work for Adobe and I haven't seen your images, but what you're describing could be rejections based on images being too similar. Adobe says this: "Every file you submit needs to offer something unique. Submitting multiple copies of identical or similar content can be perceived as spamming. Our moderation team will reject similar content, and spamming can lead to your account being blocked or permanently closed." This page explains more detail: helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/reasons-for-content-rejection.html#:~:text=Every%20file%20you%20submit%20needs,being%20blocked%20or%20permanently%20closed. I hope you have better luck with image reviews moving forward!
In my opinion, the majority of people who buy images at the agencies (for very little money) will still choose to pay a little to have exactly what they want instantly, rather than have to figure out how to write prompts and go through a fair amount of trail and error at an AI site to get something close to what they have in mind. People will always pay a little bit more if it saves them some time and hassle. Plus, if you want to use images for commercial use, most of the AI sites make you pay for credits or a subscription, so that takes away the savings compared to the stock agencies.
Can you explain (either in next video or in your updated course) how to get approved when apply to Storyblocks as contributor? Because I barely find that tutorial everywhere in internet. Thanks. 🙏
Hi, sorry you're having trouble finding that. I know the application process starts on this page: contribute.storyblocks.com/ If you've tried this and haven't heard back, they may not be accepting new contributors at this time -- I don't know for sure. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of Storyblocks right now. They do not share much information about your downloads (far less info than most other sites I have experience with) and they made a significant change this year that slashed my earnings by about 90% overnight. It was like losing a job that supports a family. So I would caution anyone before joining there. Whatever you decide, best of luck to you!
Storyblocks says this: "We’re excited by advances in artificial intelligence that are speeding up creators’ workflows (including how we are using AI to improve the Storyblocks search functionality). However, we see generative AI as a legal and ethical risk for customers, and believe it poses an inherent threat to artists and the creator economy. Our new license therefore prohibits the use of any Storyblocks assets to train AI or machine learning models, or as part of projects that are created entirely by AI functionality. That said, we do still permit you to use AI-powered tools to edit and enhance your projects." Now, this seems to be aimed at their customers and not contributors. However, I don't see any explicit mention of AI in their contributor requirements, so it is unclear at this time -- at least to me -- what their policy is. But judging by the above statements, we might assume that they don't want us sending AI generated video to them.
You better think twice before joining them (if you could even join because they review your application for like 5 weeks and you never hear back from them).

Hi, thanks for the question. Unfortunately, when it comes to agencies accepting AI, your options are pretty limited. In addition to sending AI files to Adobe, you could upload to some smaller agencies, which frankly aren't going to deliver much in terms of downloads or earnings, so for me, they aren't worth the time, based on my experience and research. These include Dreamstime, 123RF, Vecteezy, Panthermedia, Pixta, Zedge and Freepik (as you mentioned). If I had to suggest one in this group, I would say give Dreamstime a try, but it won't give you anywhere near the earnings of Adobe Stock. I hope this helps, and best of luck!

The biggest one is that some agencies like Shutterstock put in their contributor agreement that you cannot share your earnings data publicly. Plus when I have shared my portfolio with others on forums in the past I have seen many direct copies of my work as a result. So I have decided to be as helpful as I possibly can without showing my specific assets, sharing my best practices for workflow and niches that perform well, and also helping people by answering questions here and in other forums. @@MicrostockLife Thank you. No problem. I really enjoyed your course. In my opinion microstock best years are passed and now ai-tools will make income not good enough. I’m trying to understand how I can still earn maybe using AI. But to me, everything looks pessimistic. Also it’s interesting how could you create images and videos in such short time (50 minutes per day)? I never made videos but animations for stocks and that took much time. Did you hire any models for videos or rent studios?
Hi and thanks for the comment. I do have multiple videos where I divulge all my hottest selling topics and share how I find niches that do well for me. And I go much more in depth in the course I created and am practically giving away at a deep discount. Others have told me I'm crazy for sharing all this but I remember just starting out 15 years ago and wishing people could point me in the right direction.
I did a video recently where I took one of the hottest topics from the list of niches I share -- diversity -- and wrote prompts in the video to generate some high commercial value content. And I've repeated that process myself many times to generate content that has been selling well. It's doable, just requires some trial and error. Best of luck!

Plus the course I offer. Hopefully I'm sharing things that are still of value to you. Best of luck and success to you!
A lot of my videos are animations using 3d software.
No one honestly discloses their hidden secrets but shares success at the end of the year
Hi and thanks for the comment. I do have multiple videos where I divulge all my hottest selling topics and share how I find niches that do well for me. And I go much more in depth in the course I created and am practically giving away at a deep discount. Others have told me I'm crazy for sharing all this but I remember just starting out 15 years ago and wishing people could point me in the right direction.
this man is like my father. he really guide me to build long term mindset. ❤☕️
Thank you, son! Keep up the good work and best of success to you!
@@MicrostockLife hahaha you guide me so well, i make stable income per month right now. thank you father 😂
Its really hard to earn money this platform because I cant able to generate targeted niches for my submission 😢
I did a video recently where I took one of the hottest topics from the list of niches I share -- diversity -- and wrote prompts in the video to generate some high commercial value content. And I've repeated that process myself many times to generate content that has been selling well. It's doable, just requires some trial and error. Best of luck!
