1 of my absolute favorite tracks from Pharcyde. Brings back so many memories from high school, where I was at that time, who I was and what was important to me during that time. If I knew then what I know now...
The Pharcyde was probably a diamond in the industry when they debuted. The proved you could be talented, successful & different from the avg norm without having to wear bling to prove their right to be on your bass speaker. I miss this group ... a LOT!
This album is so dope !!! you get high as soon as the first track kicks in ! will die listening to this album ! the two best albums ever to me are : -Labcabincalifornia - The Pharcyde -The main ingredient - Pete Rock and CL Smooth nothing will ever get close to this for me ! peace !
So I was listening to "Passin Me Bye" and by the end I was sorta feelin depressed. I didnt know that I'd actually clicked on a playlist, this was the next song that started playing. Instant cheer up.
Commercial Industry big wigs didn't allow anything else except gangsta rap bcz that's what the rest of the world seen us in LA..smh...these are my fam along w the rest of the GOODLIFE /BLOWED emcees they kept real hiphop underground where it belongs..let em wack rappers of today keep radio. Homies are global
This is 1 of my fav songs of all time, I always go back to this song when I'm dreaming of my dream girl. I hope I can meet you someday, I hope your even out there. I promise I'll still hold on to that small part of me that still believes in love. Still listening 2017 =)
The influence of new jack swing on the more mellow hip-hop has let it age better than a lot of the harder stuff. The more topical issues that were covered by more intense artists aren't as instantly listenable as stuff like Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest, De Le Soul, Del The Funkee Homosapian, etc. They were just looking to have fun and it ultimately paid off, even if they're not remembered as well.
THE BEST pure poetry group, IMO. These guys are the ones that got me into hip-hop, if you can even call what they did was hip-hop/rap/RnB. Everything they did was soooo smooth. Labcabin FTW.
Ice T said in a couple of interviews that there where 3 threes out of Southern Cali: The Syndicate tree(look it up), the NWA tree (look it up..way more people than you think), and the Delicious Vinyl tree (way way more people than you think). Tha Pharcyde got connects to all 3!
I swear I have heard the "She said it'll be good if you stayed with me tonight" when i was younger and i can't find it anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's driving me crazy
Phuckin' Pharcyde! I was at the concert on the back ot the labcabincalifornia album jacket. Sick ass free show in Palo Alto in like 1992. Alkaholics, Del, Pharcyde, The Bums - straight bay area hip hop from the best groups around.

class of O8! damn i wish i couldve heard been in the golden era of hip hop. and i know there are still alot of good rappers still out but they are not on the radio. thats y im thinkin bout boycotting the radio stations until they play good music

Yeah I honestly think it's the best rap I've ever heard
it's amazing how the beat alone can make this song sound either really upbeat (original) or really serious (jay dee remix)
These guys make self-deprecation somehow b-boy. Legends. Inspired by these guys.
