Agree with a lot of these! I scooped up Doc Brown for 35% off last month, and then pre-ordered a 3rd party sculpt from OnesixthKit that looks like it’ll be a nice improvement. The rest of the figure is good enough, but that sculpt needs work. The Delorean ended up being my favorite release of the year, but I received the second batch which didn’t have any issues. My only problem with it, which you mention in the video, is you can’t keep the lights on all the time when powered by USB. I’m hoping someone out there can figure out a way to do it, and record how to do it, but I won’t be the first person to try, lol
First off, THANK YOU for the "in your face" captions! This ol' hard-of-hearing collector REALLY appreciates it! I wouldn't object if they carried through the entire video.(but at least the standard ones are here as well). And thanks for the videos - I enjoy your take on collecting and like seeing figures on display. All the best to you and your family in 2024!
Not really felt ‘disappointed’ with anything in 2023 (that I can remember anyway! 😅) but yeah I’m with you on the whole DX thing, those figures were basically just regular releases imho!
love the delorean and i'm happy to have it in the collection...but I'm with you. the QAQC issues made it one of the most disappointing releases of the year.
1/6 is disappointing overall. Too many releases, re-releases, licenses, characters, obscure characters etc etc. It doesn't feel special anymore. We used to get an average of 3 characters per film back in the day.
Recently traded away my 6 least liked hot toys figures. Got Paz viszla and mom Dr. Strange. Quite happy as I didn’t have either beforehand and needed them. Love Paz, love strange. Worked out. Also, I’m so happy I waited on that delorean. Now we got part 3, which may be the worst movie for some, but I think it’s the most eye catching of the cars. Plus I love me a good western. So I ordered that right away. Good video dude. I found you from hot toys hotline. Keep it up!
Further to the DX comment, they really need to get their ass in gear with their underlying bodies for their figures. I also have the Bespin Luke and I cannot bring myself to display like you have, the "forearm" of the figure is just fugly. Of course, this isn't an issue isolated to the Luke Bespin figure, I think its mostly because the outfit is quite tight on this figure, so it shows worse. It's really time HT pull their finger out and started making these must have, huge improvements. A great example would be the InArt Joker, supply us with some seamless forarms! The main issue we have is fanboys (myself included) will rush to order anything they release. Unfortunately, things will never change if sales are soaring.
Other that the Delorean, I've owned and moved on from all those figures except the Bespin Luke. I hate that he is so clean but he's still my ultimate Luke in my collection.

Same, second batch, no issues and the button for lights sucks. Just be able to power them on is all we ask.
