    Really nice review. The camera angles on the ride are amazing. I gave my 2003 Sportster XL1200S to my younger son and I still ride my 1998 Road King. I had planned on getting a new King at some point but Harley took the FLHR our of the lineup. Then I had a full left hip replacement in 2022 and had a cardiac event last fall. I am more looking at something smaller and lighter yet sporty and comfortable. The Nightster special looks like a perfect bike to me. I could say it would be nice to have a larger fuel tank but in all honesty it feels good to get off after not much more than 100 miles anyway so not a huge issue. I really have to go try one soon. I had located one nearby but it was already under deposit. keep looking.

    The new Nightsters are good bikes. Definitely a value leader in the line. Improvements I would like to see are cleaning up the radiator, and better looking exhaust. The radiator looks plastic and bulbous, the exhaust is small potatoes because everyone changes it anyway.
    New models I would like to see in the line would be a Sportster R (1250 motor, naked upright chassis), Sportster RT (same bike, but with bags & a windscreen), and a Nightster 1250.

At stars and stripes Harley Davidson i got a call from them when the nightster first came out and they told me that msrp was $13,000 but they would give it to me for $19,000 cause the bike just came out and a lot of people want it. Being a traditional EVO Sportster Bro I can't say this makes me want one. Looks like they created a hybrid Honda Rebel and Yamaha Bolt and added the side panels of the old range. Viewed from the left the radiator setup looks awful.
    The rider interface is also the Revmax engine button layout thus deleting the right turn signal button. Meant to compete with the Indian Scout range all of the above is understandable, but the end product is without the character of the EVO range.
    Harley should have kept the Rg750 as an entry level option but low sales numbers could understandably have led to its discontinuation.
    For my money, I would buy an Indian Scout over this.

Having owned several different bikes as Ducati, Suzuki and Triumph it is a small difference that actually has the effect that reminds you that you're on a Harley. The vibrations are also part of the HD experience and they even added that as a haptic feature on the electric Livewire model.

    I just bought a Nightster RH975 I also own a 2022 Triumph Street Twin for comparison. Both bikes are wonderful and each has advantages and disadvantages. The Nightster is beautiful, long and low. While the Nightster is 4 pounds heavier, it feels much lighter due to the low center of gravity. The clutch and shifter on the Triumph is much better than the Nightster. The Nightster has a heavy long throw clutch and vague shifter compared to the Triumph light clutch and precise shifter. The single seat on the Nightster is better than the bench search on the Triumph. The sound from the stock pipes is way better on The Triumph and the Nightster is much hotter on the right side. While the Nightster has more power (65 hp vs 90 hp) the Triumph feels more powerful because the torque is there at very low rpm. After full break in I’ll know more about the Nightster power. In conclusion both bike are wonderful, the Triumph is great as it comes, while the Nightster has great potential with some upgrades with clutch, shifting and exhaust.

    not a fan of the way the nightsters cylinder covers look... just looks cheap and plastic... and not clean plastic like on a sport bike fairing... totally subjective I know, it just kills that whole model line for me. I just don’t get the design decision to have the right side “finished” and the left side completely overlooked. And with bikes like the Yamaha MT-09, Honda Rebel 1100, Suzuki GSX-S 1000 and so on priced thousands less makes this a hard sell (unfortunately) and it’s just not a Harley with the Revolution Max. For not too much more, the Softail Standard makes so much more sense. 🤷‍♂️

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can appreciate that comment. I think there are people that feel the same way as you. The thing with all the bikes you listed is that their aesthetics are just as "busy" as the Nightster. Some of them have even more wires and lines running around the engine to take away the tidiness. Either that or they're covered with plastic fairings. It's a trade off for the added tech and cooling I suppose.

    That's harleys new woke sportster. Please someone get rid of Zeitz he is ruining the company with these European look alike bikes.Matt didn't do this review because he knows the bike is shit and probably isn't selling. Bring back the 48, stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Harley doesn't need to do anything they have a solid base. Liquid cooled will never work for them. This bike sounds like shit even with aftermarket exhaust. So what if it's fast, the bike has no character. Micky does the best reviews.
