- Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you, my all time favorite Gemmy item in existence. I figured this video would be fitting to serve as my final post for awhile. I promise I’ll get to talking about the cats themselves, but first, a word. Remember that “beginning of an end” I mentioned in a video description back in January? Well, we’re officially at the end of the end. Exactly four years ago, on February 17th 2020 at 10:00 AM, I published a video titled “My Last Video (for a year or so)” announcing my temporary retirement from the channel. Prior to the release of that video, I was uploading 2 videos per day, every weekday. And, after I returned to the channel a year and a half later, I began uploading 2 videos per day, every weekday. That was over 2 years ago now, and I’ve tried my best to maintain this streak with few exceptions. But as you can imagine, this is not easy to keep up with, and my life has changed a lot in the last 2 years. No matter how hard I try to stay a little kid forever, everyone must grow up eventually, and I simply cannot continue with my current ways. Running this channel feels like working a full time job, on top of the full time job I already work, and I am exhausted. Please, don’t misunderstand me, I am NOT quitting this channel. I’ve been unhealthily obsessed with these singing toys since I was birthed from the womb, and I’ve reluctantly accepted that I’m not going to suddenly lose interest in them anytime soon. What I AM doing is halting scheduled videos permanently. I very well may continue to be active here, posting a few videos a week, or I might leave forever and never return. Life is unpredictable, and it’s hard to say for sure. The one thing I know is you’ll see less content from me from now on, and that’s the short of it. I’m not about to turn this into a big deal with a huge goodbye celebration or anything, but I have considered making some kind of sendoff video, so maybe you’ll see that soon. I’ll shut up about all this now, but first I want to give an enormous and sincere thank you to every single person who has been with me throughout my time on TH-cam, you all mean so much to me. If you’re here right now and reading this, you’re awesome!!!
I think it’s time we redirect this description back to where it started, with the items I felt were worthy of being the stars of my last officially scheduled video: My 2 Electric Cats. I first acquired the one without the box on the left wayyy back in early 2014 after I bought it off eBay using a gift card I had received for Christmas a few months prior. I still remember scrolling through eBay in the early morning before school as I used to do every day, seeing this for sale, and instantly becoming captivated. It looked so cool!!! And more importantly, the title claimed it played “Electric Avenue”, a song I already loved at the time, so I knew I had to have him. Still, I didn’t really know much about him or what he did until he arrived on our doorstep. I opened the box, tested him for the first time, and just like that he was my favorite thing I owned 😂. Of course, neither the hair or arms moved at first due to split gears, but I didn’t really care at the time. In fact, I didn’t even try to repair him until late 2017, and I’m incredibly thankful for this because I probably would’ve ruined him otherwise. His head had quit moving by that point too, which turned out to be a loose motor wire, and I had my grandpa solder it back on for me because I still didn’t own my own soldering iron yet. Even in 2017, that cat was one of the first items I ever successfully replaced the gears in, and looking back I did a surprisingly good job considering my inexperience. At least, on the inside. If we’re talking about the outer cat skin itself, I murdered the poor thing. Besides minor mistakes, like not gluing the fabric back down around the eyes or hair, I also made some major mistakes, like cutting the fabric ALL the way around the bottom of the base in order to get the skin off instead of just cutting the zip tie like any sensible person would do. I also demolished the arms, cutting completely through them on all sides (including the tops and bottoms where there are no seams), just so I could get his light-up plugs in and out of the skin 😭. Not to mention all the random cuts I made on his chest, shoulders and back underneath his shirt where thankfully you can’t see. The only thing I bothered to sew up afterwards was the arms, and I didn’t even put any stuffing back in them! If that wasn’t bad enough, I could no longer use a zip tie to hold his skin down, so I decided to just hot glue it on instead. It looked terrible, but all that mattered to me was that he worked, and that’s how he stayed for 6 years until I just restored him again recently.

And yeah the execution is EVERYTHING I could've dreamed about, like whoever came up with this idea and decided on putting this much effort into a stupid novelty plush toy is a God, I swear.
I’m glad you agree, this is definitely some of Gemmy’s best work! Joe P would be the “God” that came up with this idea, back in his glory days. His creative and ridiculous mind is the only place an idea like this could’ve formed 😂
If only they were able to straighten out that programming error before shipping them, this would’ve been even better. And yet, it’s still such a great item even with the weird programming lol.
I must say it, you were probably my favorite Gemmy collector, and if you’re leaving, I guess I need to say the thing I’d rather not say, but probably should.

Well if you do decide to leave and never return, just know I’ve always appreciated you since the very beginning. You’re one of the best there is, so nice to everyone regardless of background, something I wish I could be. Not to mention an epic channel with epic stories behind a lot of things. You will certainly be missed if this is so, but if you do decide to remain active just in lesser form, then I can’t wait to see what else you have in store. Happy trails man!

Oh, and I read all of your descriptions, yes you might call me crazy but yes I read all of them, all of them, literally all of them! I could say it over and over again. I am a true devotee. It's so amazing how you go into every detail, even if it's not what you really wanted. I would've loved to hear you talk about How it shaped you as a person. And it's a really cool thing that it did shaped you as a person, it just goes to show you that animatronics can have a deeper meaning and story behind it. I don't know what else to say, other than thank you for Being here. And thanks for the congratulations, lol.
Man, I have appreciated every moment I've watched your weekly content. It's been a major blast. Whether you continue showing whatever comes in your collection or whether you go for good, I hope your life will continue to be prosperous. Definitely nearly my favorite item from this series and insane to see how much you said about it lol I love his design, song, and mechs it all clashes perfectly to make a perfect item also about your “The beginning of the end” thing I really think we can all agree that you, Toylover 17 are the best Gemmy collector on TH-cam not only owning an amazing collection but always having such nice and great quality videos (Don’t forget the descriptions lol) I really hope this isn’t the end but it isn’t easy doing what you do so I wouldn’t blame you if it is 😔

Anyways this is also one of my favorites in the series, i never seen gemmy use electric avenue on any other item but this like its their original song or something. Also i always thought the hair was meant to bob up and down with the head. I hope i own him one day.

This is definitely my favorite Dog & Cat dance club item! I like the design and recording but the coolest thing about this item is easily the mech, I especially LOVE that hair rising mech, it is one of the coolest, most unique features on any gemmy item and it's just the icing on the cake that is this item. I really want to obtain this for myself one day. Also, that description is legendary!

I've been watching your content pretty much since you started this current channel (on a different account). If you do end up leaving for good, I'm gonna miss watching these frequent uploads. Your repair videos (which are now private) have actually taught me how to fix stuff. From the red base blue vest spinning snowflake snowman repair, to the 41 minute long turtle dancer repairs marathon lol! None of us would be the same without your content, and other charming things you had to offer throughout the years☺

I've been in love with your channel since September 26, 2018, and I'm sure it might baffle you that I still remember all of that. The first video I came across was that saxophone Santa video from April 28, 2018, which I know you have re-uploaded a few times, And I love it when you put those kinds of videos and descriptions like unlisted videos and such. You are doing a great job keeping up with the channel, and I sincerely appreciate it for all the time you have been here. I know that you are not leaving, at all. However, I do understand that you need to take a break and life is more important. I'm going to miss you, but I know that you're not leaving forever at least I hope. Oh, and I don't know what castle you're talking about, and also it seems pretty painfully obvious with the whole programming thing in the mechanisms. The way you explain this description so well, was pretty amazing! It kind of ruined the song for me when I listen to the official recording of Eddie Grant, the first two verses of the song, And I thought it was a love song. Also, one more thing I promise lol: I hope you don't lose your hearing at all even if you blasted your speakers up to electric Avenue! lol! When I hear a good song, I like to turn up the volume but not too loud that I won't lose my hearing. i'm an auditory learner, and rely a lot of my hearing, so that's why. I'll see you on the flipside, and I'll greatly miss you!

Your newer one works much better than either of mine do, and its box is in pristine condition. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but you did a great job fixing them up! I still remember watching the old video you made of your first Electric Cat almost 10 years ago. I had just received my first one a few months prior, and I believe your video was the only video of Electric Cat in action on the internet at the time. I still come back to that video every so often, even today.
I also remember when we exchanged emails so I could send you photos and measurements of the plugs on my Electric Cat so you could make new ones for yours… man, feels like yesterday!
