Maybe you can incorporate the dynamite into a more typical versus situation. A rule stating you have to hide 1-2 sticks of dynamite in your creation for some dramatic effects.
Why do we always do elimination battles? This fight would have been good for 5-stock battles or timed score battles (most kills within the timelimit). Personally though, I think what would be interesting for dynamite fights is everyone uses invincible seats, free repairs, but if you die from voiding out, your eliminated. Because it's an aerial battle, your repair tokens by default have a cooldown after use. So it forces you to kill fast.
Oooh, this is really clever actually. For this one specifically though I feel like everyone would probably only get one repair or just run away til they get their token back.
@@merilynnshark6144 Don't let them run. Secure the kill. If they survive and run, that's on you. That being said, one of the limits would be a max speed cap.
Alright, this is a really stupid idea, but I notice you have been doing a lot of dogfighting. What if you built dogs to fight with? Like a ground battle, but your vehicle has to resemble a dog. Or I'm not sure if this would work, aerial dog fighting with dog planes.
On the topic of planes, I was experimenting with wings in Trailmakers the other day and learned some interesting stuff: 1) Wings produce significantly less lift (or none at all) if any of the wing's faces (except the side connections) are directly touching other blocks. For example, putting a 4x1 block directly in front of a wing _or_ directly behind it will reduce its lift, same goes for putting two 2x4 blocks on either the top or bottom of a wing. The "corners" don't seem to matter at all, meaning instead of placing a 4x1 block directly in front of a wing, you place it one block higher or lower and it'll have no effect (same goes for the back side). This is somewhat realistic, in the sense that wings do get their lift from differing air pressures and air speeds above and below the wing, so it's interesting that every wing face must _not_ be blocked now in order to provide proper lift. However, this does have a huge negative affect wings that are merged into creations by using the piston glitch because they provide only a fraction of their actual lift, if any at all (I don't think wings or air were simulated on this level before the Airborne DLC) 2) Wings seem to produce significantly more lift when they're stacked _vertically_ with an empty, 1 block gap between them, as opposed to laying out the same number of wings horizontally (while also keeping the same weight and aerodynamic profile). This one is particularly strange because I don't really know why they would function this way. My only guess is that the air physics calculations are maybe being multiplied in some way when the top of one wing and the bottom of another wing are so close together? Like, it assumes that the air moving between them is moving faster than the speed of the actual plane, thus providing extra lift? That second point is the most interesting, imo, because I feel like it could allow for some very strange plane builds. Like, you've heard of the biplane, now get ready for the dodecaplane that immediately ascends to the heavens in even the slightest breeze
Here is an idea for the next time you build a plane: Make a plane that is aerodynamic not only from the front, but from behind as well so the plane can go backwards. Getting chased? Just turn around towards them.
his build was kinda cheaty tbh. scrap explains why they have the block limit they do and then JB goes and does exactly what he was saying theyre trying to prevent
im just going back to a bunch of old channels i used to watch as a kid as it's my 18th birthday today. this was one on the list, back in 2016 when you had about 20k subs or something. crazy to think youre so close to a million and still getting hundreds of thousands of views per video. great job scrapman
I feel like it would be a good idea for you to do a challenge where you have to include 4 explosive blocks or something like that to simulate fuel tanks or the other more vulnerable parts of an airplane. And maybe limit how much those blocks can be covered. Maybe 1 needs to be exposed on 3 sides or something.
Basically, you’ve just recreated WWII era Japanese fighters! No armor, so one bullet would set off their fuel tanks. Might be an interesting concept in the future: having a required dynamite core to represent a fuel tank in the middle of your builds. A new quirk for my long running idea of hover-craft with no aim assist and maybe first person view only: now, with a dynamite core that explodes if you sink? Or two-seat helicopters or fighters where one player flies and the other player fires the weapons?
I love the dynamite concept And considering the boat fights usually take long because of lots of armour I suggest doing cargo-ships/boat battles with tnt hidden inside. So you have to first shoot the armour away before a satisfying explosion💥
I remember watching your vids 5 years ago, it’s unfortunate that I’m not interested in the content anymore but I’m glad to see you are still doing good!
Instead of ruling that every non-functional part should be dynamite, make that 1/5 of the plane has to be dynamite (so with 10 parts, 2 have to be dynamite), I think that would make a challenge like this more interesting
Hey scrapman you should do a drone battle. The last one was so fun to watch and it would be fun to see what you could make this time with the new update
IDEA SIMILAR TO THIS: Have one ground tank vs two explosive jets. The ground tank will have a weapon and armor while the planes are made up of dynamite but have no other weapons. Practically two suicide bombers vs one armored tank. For points/ a winner you could tally it up like you did with the guys on that ground vehicle vs airship battle.
Possible idea: Battle Race Cars, but ya have to use the round aerodynamics and make the Cars look at least kinda like Volkswagon Beetles. Also, 2 Bulldawg Engines only tops... so i'd not recommend buildin Chonky. :P
I think it would be really cool if you did a hovercraft battle (on water), but the only weapons you're allowed to use are anchors and detachable blocks (Maybe you can allow a repair every x seconds or when someone dies if that's not possible). Otherwise I think just a hover battlebots on water would be neat - so pistons, servos, etc. but no guns or dynamite.
The Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka is a plane IRL that is essentially just a 2600 lb bomb that was piloted by a person. A morbid bit of history but it did exist. The doubt in the video that a dynamite plane existed IRL is what reminded me of it.
An idea for another dynamite dogfight could be that each person has 4 dynamite that they can protect in their plane, so then it is harder to kill but still satisfying.
Adding dynamite to any combat challenge is a great way to raise the stakes and make it spicier Should certainly consider redoing some other ones, like hovercraft fight and such. Not necessarily have vehicles made out of dynamite, at least add certain amount under armor
Idea: Vehicle battle. Just build anything that will hopefully get you the win. Let's see Howmush destruction we can see when you're only limited to your imagination (and the 700 block limit). Maybe build a plane with 5 of every weapon? Maybe build a truck with 20 miniguns on the back. Or maybe build a submarine that can fly so you can hide under the water. I think it's will be fun too see what everyone comes up with.
When you exploded your airplane with the dynamite I realized you could make a stationary form of supersonic transportation where you aim something like a cannon, but the item you’re shooting is yourself by exploding the cannon and the only way to land safely is to repair your creation before you reach your destination. you will then need to perform a gentle descent with rocket motors or something to provide an opportunity for another shot. This could then be extended into multiplayer in the form of races or challenges. Or mini-golf if another player wants to be the cup lol
Challenge build! Can you build a trebuchet that launches your cockpit at supersonic velocity? Or rubber powered trebuchet works too. Doubt Gravity is enough.
Geez, the speed of some of the planes. Its almost like that time when the allies and their prop fighters fought the Messerschmit ME232 jets for the first time!
A revisit of evolution but with dogfights, and as usual a block and power core quota, but now with a choice of 2 smart cannons, 1 minigun, or 1 rocket per evolution. Not the most refined idea, but I can only imagine the insane powerhouse of a plane you guys would have at the end.
Im pretty sure that all of the propellers let the aerodynamics go through them, so the dynamite in front was still causing drag. You can confirm it by selecting the dynamite behind the propeller and seeing if there are red arrows in the propeller.
An idea for you @ScrapMan. You each build a plane and using what you have found out about magnets use them to carry cargo while racing around the map. The real fun is that the cargo is at least six dynamite with 300 kg of weight attached and the dynamite has to be directly under the plane.
This gives me the idea of dog fights but the planes have individual dynamite "weak points" on certain parts of the plane that pretty much guarantee a kill if hit. Like in the tail of the plane or the wing-box or something so the battle can go on longer but still have explosive takedowns.
I think you did something like this, but here's my idea: Do some kind of challenge (doesn't matter, boat race, plane race, dog fight, destruction derby, etc.), but then the winner of the round gets their vehicle sabotaged by the person that got last place. Like if Yzuei got first in a destruction derby challenge, then the person that got 4th place on that round can sabotage Yzuei's vehicle, removing its ability to back up. And you just have to deal with the sabotages, because it's like giving the winner of a round a handicap, so it'll be a bit more challenging for them to continue to win.
It's like the sabotage race you did 2 months ago, except it's one person being sabotaged per round, but they need to keep the sabotage on their vehicle.
Should recreate games like Gorillas and Worms, where each person gets a fixed amount of movement then gets to fire a single mortar shot back and forth, using terrain for cover, etc :)
Here's an Idea for 3 players. It's rotating 2 v 1. The team of 2 will have a weaponless tank with a speed limit and a plane with either a smart cannon or a minigun. The player alone will have a plane with a bomb bay and unlimited repairs. Whoever takes down the tank the fastest as the solo player gets a point. 3 rounds with a smart cannon on the gun plane and 3 rounds with a minigun on the gun plane.
I'm pretty sure that the rounds without auto aim were pretty accurate to actual dog fighting, unless you have homing missiles it's really hard to hit the enemy and when you do hit them, the bullets do so much damage that the enemy plane is usually rendered useless after getting hit. then again I don't know much about planes so correct me if I'm wrong.
Now you guys can do one where the dynamite has to connect functional parts to non functional Any engines would have to have tnt in-between it and blocks With what ever block limit you guys decided
you guys should do ships vs planes, were the planes have to use torpedoes and the boat can have 1 gatling gun, 1 rocket, and 1 smart cannon (if possible for that set up)
Suggestion: build two vehicles, one has guns but can't move fast (blimp gun ship), the other can't shoot but moves fast (stunt plane). This will use the transform ability so make each light so if you get damaged it's probably a loss anyway
Try the same concept but with unlimited respawn. First to 10 points wins. Each players get his own spawn so you never know if your going to get jumped.
Here's an idea. evasion challenge. one plane with a gunner seat has to survive as long as possible against TNT planes with no weapons. essentially guided missiles.
Shield wall vehicle battles, vehicles where shield blocks must be on a hinge or other device to be able to move them in and out of position so they can protect the vehicle, but using the shield disables the weapon. When the shield is not being used, it must move away so the vehicle is exposed and can then fire it's weapon. Also shield walls can be built to be up to 2 layers thick.
The next challenge should be similar to this ACCEPT the only difference is that you add armor around the plane but leave small holes open in a couple of places as "weak points" (so that you get the cool explosions but tougher battles)
WWII dogfights like the P51 Mustang vs the Zero, they had multiple guns in the wings and the zero has one in the fuselage (center) so they had multiple guns firing to make it easier to hit the opponent. Y’all kept using just the one gun which doesn’t work apparently.
4:24 imagine the glider car challenge again, but instead of using wings to jump, you just explode up And your car would be made of dynamite for one shot kills since you’ll be respawning after every jump
Transformer battle, land/air/sea, where each player builds a vehicle that can shape shift into three different vehicles that can traverse the three mediums
Repeat this, but the guns have to be facing backwards off the tail of your planes. It'll make "dog fights" quite interesting as you all try to flick your tails at each other, go instinctually in to chase someone only to realize after bullets are flying at you that the guns are reversed, and rocket rounds would have to be played so carefully.
You guys should do a challenge where every round you switch vehicles with the other person and make changes to there vehicle and then switch back so the other person could either sabotage or make it better but you can’t add any items that can destroy their vehicles by changing a bind to something
Infection style suicide car, each player builds two cars, one to run away, and another to chase, or just one suicide car that everyone uses and everyone just builds one car to run. If the suicide car gets you, you are also in a suicide car for the remainder of the round, last one surviving gets the point.
