Dat Harass If you saw the movie you would see that its sang by a boy about to be hanged, it supposed to represent a pirate's freedom and life reaching its end. The "Yo? Ho? All hands?" is supposed to be told by the captain, questioning if his freedom has truly finally reached his peak.
I think that's the point of it all. They were being hanged, no doubt the civilians weren't good at singing. I think it gives the song a rawness which I respect.

Unlike in the movie, one of the guards tell someone that the pirates are singing, so the song get suddenly quiet but then booms back up to volume. So even be glad they kept on going with the song. People moved to the new world to escape a government that put them in prison for not having enough money to pay taxes, then extended their sentences because they couldn't make money in prison. Unlike in the movie, one of the guards tell someone that the pirates are singing, so the song get suddenly quiet but then booms back up to volume. So even be glad they kept on going with the song. And plus, as I said, "Can u sing it better bruh?".

jack was not in the first half of the movie dude it was a little boy and a bunch of slaves singing it then Elizabeth sang it at the end of the song watch the movie if you dont believe me but its true also the singers are really good for not being singers this is just the crew pitching in there not singers give then a brake i think they did damn good and it gives the song a little how to say . . . authenticity.

They weren't seeking freedom from extremist Catholics. By that point in time, England was protestant (technically Anglican). People moved to the new world to escape a government that put them in prison for not having enough money to pay taxes, then extended their sentences because they couldn't make money in prison. The whole idea was to start a totally new life, where a man made his own destiny, where social status was not something born into, where the government had little or no say in life.
